I finally finished one set of outfits. From left to right: My niece Catherine, my son Michael and my daughter Parker Renee.

Parker has blue panties under her top and Catherine has Mickey head panties. I am going to cut Michael's shirt off b/c I don't think I like how it looks tucked in. Now I'm off to start the next set of outfits.

great job. I love the variations you did and as a mom of a 3 yr old boy ..I love the shorts you made and shirt. Need to find someone who can sew or teach me.....

BTW...I think cutting the shirt off will look better.

Thanks ampooh!! One reason I did the variations is b/c everyone is all the time asking if the two girls are twins. They are cousins & 3.5 months a part in age. I thought maybe if I didn't do them identical, we would be less likely to be asked. (Probably sounds silly but it does tend to get on my nerves!)

And, I have shrunk the shirt and it didn't draw up enough so I am getting ready to cut/hem it. I never tuck his shirts in but I did this one b/c it was just too long and I needed to take the pic to send to family. I feared he might look sissyish (if this is even a realy word) but his dad just said to cut it off and it would be fine.

I think that is a good idea. My oldest Ds and his cousin are 3 mos apart and we always dressed them in different colors if it was the same clothes if we could.

I think DS will look great in his new outfit. I love how he casn dress Dsieny but not be to sissyish( I like your word) .

We're going in June so I need to get to looking for some fabric and someone to make him an outift before he is too old.

BTW...That pattern you used for the girls is the kind of things I wore almost 40 yrs ago. I still love that design.

I love that pattern! It is soooo easy and you can do so much with. My DD has had about 5 different outfits made from this pattern!

I love all the pillow case dresses I've seen. A stupid question as I am not a sewer. Are they actually made from a pillow case? They seem so short to me. I keep wanting to buy one but I'm afraid it will just look like a big sack on my dd or that it will be too short.
The original pattern is from a pillowcase, but you can make it out of any fabric you like. You make them the length you like. Mine are 19" long. My daughter is just 3 years old. So, they go just to her knee. Hope this helps answer some questions.

I've been following the conversation about older kids wearing boutique clothes and honestly think that it depends on your child. My older kids love to wear boutique style outfits. And I ended up making them all matching outfits because it's easier for me to spot them in the park. Here are a few outfits I have almost finished and already finished to give you a few ideas for the older kids. The outfits don't contain nearly as many ruffles as I would use if it were for just my youngest daughter.

The first outfit has colored velcro and the leg ruffles can be exchanged for flowers or other decorations to match other shirts. The shirt shown just has an iron on ariel on it.

The second outfit has a giraffe print mickey on the shirt and the back pocket of the jeans.

These dresses have matching purses made from material scraps.

We went very casual last time except for the character meals, this time they asked if they could get a little more dressed up so we made outfits for each of the parks. (And if you are wondering about using white in the parks, I have treated the back of the pants with fabric protector.):goodvibes

I have to say that this is my favorite thread of the whole site!! I painted some sneakers for DD a few months ago for our trip in June and I'm in the process of sewing her some outfits to go along with them princess:

Disney Pal, thank you!:goodvibes

MommyPoppins, theses outfits weren't very hard, they were the easy to sew patterns. I wouldn't have the patience to do them otherwise. And the trim on the pants is easy. You don't even have to sew the bottom of the fur, you just have to sew one line to attach it to the jeans. And it doesnt have to be perfect because the fur covers most flaws. The mickey on the shirt is just fur ironed on to pellon and then ironed onto the shirt. Really easy. The jewels and letters are iron on also.

Have you seen the shirts on here with the mickey heads? They make cool pirate shirts and they can be done fairly easily. If you don't like to sew, can you paint a little?

We had fun with the kids here and painted some things for them to wear. They designed their clothes and then I filled in the blanks. Fun to do and if you make a mistake just cover it with paint and start over!

I took some jeans that were a little worn looking and we had fun with them.

These still need to be trimmed on the bottom.

Can anyone say pirate? This is sometimes better for older kids. This shirt could easily have been a pirate mickey.

Such talent! You've all inspired me to learn how to sew! Now I need a sewing machine! Maybe a Barbie one for starters :lmao:

Here are some of the basic tees that I make. They bring these, almost every trip we take.

Here's the sneakers I painted for Mya. My friend loved them so much she had me make some for her DD for their trip too.

Eeyore's Tiara,
It's great that your girls are involved in designing their clothes. I love the animal print outfits and the dresses.

CastleCreations,
Another cute design as usual!!!!

stefplus3,
ADORABLE!!!

Tink....yes, I make Mommy shirts. I have even done them with the child's name, like Lexie's Mommy, or Kid at heart, or Where's Minnie? I can embroider almost anything. I like these because they're simple.

Whoever did the sneakers....they are totally cute!!! Love them!!
