hello everyone!! I'm sorry to hear everyone is sick. We are all coming down with something as well. I have a sore throat, cough thing, and dd has a cough too. We'll live....
Everyone's outfits have been adorable. I'm glad to see all of the lurkers coming out of hiding.
I have decided that we need another week at Disney, so next week we are leaving...jan 3-7th or whenever we decide to come home...we don't have to be home until the 14th...technically.
Anywho..we most likely won't be staying on property. I'm tempted to try the Nick hotel, because DD Ireland loves Spongebob. This has been the first year that I allowed her to watch it and she LOVES it!!! I also like the idea of putting the girls in their own room, and having some privacy...
I thought Lexie and I would be on our own for this trip, but Ireland will be with us as well, so she needed a gown too. So I have been sewing the past few days, trying to get it finished.
I'm done except putting on the trim around the waist and the closures in the back. I recycled the Belle broach from her old store bought dress and put it on the one I made. Please excuse the hair..she has been running around the house..

The bodice is a gorgeous gold brocade. I fell in love with it and had to have it. The skirt is made of two layers. One is a heavy maroon satin, that is lined in black. It's to die for...too bad you can't really see it. The top layer is a sheer maroon that had gold and maroon roping sewn into it. I had to have that as well. It all came to about 60 dollars. All of the material was 19.99 a yard, because it was decorator fabric, but I used coupons, and got some on sale. Ireland is really pleased with it and hopefully it won't be too warm for her. If it's hot that day, we will go to MK in the evening when they have extra magic hours at night.
Did I mention that it's really hard to yell at the kids when you've lost your voice?

Gracie is getting soooo big!!! Wow!!! She is just beautiful and I love her tulle petticoat skirt. Did you have a nice trip to Disney? How was POR?

Yes, she is getting so big! She'll be two January 4th. It is hard to believe. We had a great time at Disney and she got lots of attention with her customs. She really enjoyed everything we did, especially the characters. We wanted to go back in December but didn't get the chance.

We're going in March to do the tea party and hopefully the Pirate & Princess Party. I'm also working on a trip for next December.

How are all of you doing? This thread moves way fast, who knew?!

Oh, BTW... my little Gracie is doing great but she is starting to outgrow some of her customs. so now I have to sell some and buy new ones . I have a couple in the works for a quick trip in March. We will be going to the Perfectly Princess Tea Party so, of course, that means an Aurora custom and something special planned for 1900 Park Fair.

We got Butterscotch for Christmas and Leigh absolutely it!

Leigh is having a sleepover tonight, and her friend saw some of the customs that I have made her, and wished she had one!

Well, we got in the car and headed to Walmarshay, and picked up some flannel and a couple of $1.00 clearance tshirts. They picked out the fabric and I literally whipped these up in about 1 hour! Of course I wasn't as particular with pinning, and measuring and such, but they turned out quite well!

Leigh's friend "D" is sad that she doesn't have a pony too!

And she loves Leigh's kitty Patches

As you can see, she has already prettiefied Butterscotch with barrettes, and such!

Her friend was a little scared of her at first, but now loves to sit on and feed and brush her too!

Congrats on a great deal on a GREAT machine. You're gonna love it!

I sure hope so! I was thinking this was the one that several people on here had bought and really liked. I played with it today and it took me a while to get the tension adjusted. I made a peasant top, it's all done except the hems and ruffle. It's a good thing I got one because today I tried to use my old machine for shirring and it died in the middle of the job!!!!

Gorgeous! And the dress isn't bad either!

... I'm also working on a trip for next December.

Heathersue- I used Casa satin. It is so much nicer than some of the other satin's and holds up much better. It is about $7 a yard, but of course I used a JoAnns 50% off coupon

Thanks for the sewing room link Laura!!! And your girls are so cute!!!! Their outfits are really adorable! Isn't the double decker carousel fun!!! Although Lydia get a little nervous riding on the top! For the last few times, she and Arminda keep riding the teacup, which makes me dizzy just watching them!

Funny story, Tessa was telling Lydia today that our kitty, was naughty. Lydia asked her why she thought that, and Tessa said, "Because when Grandma was watching him (while we were in Florida) he jumped up on her ceiling!" What had happened was that Heather's dog had barked at our cat, and apparently, he lept straight up into the air and was hanging onto the door frame!!! Which is really weird, because at the time we had a Brittany Spaniel that he hardly gave a second look to, and Heather's dog is a little schnauzer!

We went to see Enchanted today. Sort of a trial run for our Florida trip, although there were only 13 of us at the movie (the other two joined us for supper afterwards though), we took up the entire back row of the theater! I loved it!!! Even Brian seemed to enjoy it!I hadn't realized that Giselle was a redhead! Heather and I decided that Lydia really needs Giselle's blue dress! Then, Lydia leaned over and asked me if I could make it for her. So, one more outfit to add to my list!

The girls and I made the beaded tiaras from the bookmarks for all the girls. They turned out pretty cute. I would suggest that if you make them to NOT use the metallic pipe cleaners, those things are a pain! Little bits of tinsel everywhere! We made a few using the regular pipecleaners, and it was a lot easier and much less messy! It was a really fun project for us all to do yesterday afternoon! If I hunt down a camera, I will take a picture. Which reminds me, I haven't got a picture of Lydia's Sulley and Boo jammies yet.

Arminda is spending the night at Brian's brother's tomorrow (with her twin cousin, they were born the same morning), and she may not be up by the time I leave for my meeting in the morning, and Brian is probably picking her up at the New Years party they are having on Monday. Do you know what that means??? I won't see my little girl until NEXT YEAR!!!!

Well, now I'm disappointed. Walmart didn't have the machine, much less at a clearance price. I did find it cheaper online though. I might just have to break down and order it that way.

Oh.... I did forget to mention. A couple of weeks ago, the gal in Walmart said they were getting tons of fabric in for the spring. Yippee!! I saw some really cute dog print fabric there today.

Congrats, Nana -you deserve it!! You are one fabulous & talented lady. Can't wait to see some of the embroidery pieces you churn out on that puppy.

I have to ask all those that got the new sewing machines & sewed on older ones.....is it really that different? Is it worth the expense? I sew on a 1960s Singer that Dh bought at a swap meet several years ago. It works great. I have no complaints, honestly.

When I feel a little tired of the Singer, I sew on my Mom's Brother (1990s model). When she went to heaven, my sisters gave her machine to me-they have no clue about sewing. The Brother has more problems for me than the older Singer.

After hearing about all the new fangled machines here & watching HSN at some Christmas specials...it's got me a little green with envy. One day I watched a lady in the machine section at JoAnn's sewing on one of those Swedish(?) models. She was applique stitching, get this...drinking a cup of coffee, while the machine did the work!!!! Can you imagine? I don't think I'd enjoy sewing as much, with out all the sweat equity. I'd have to go into business or something to justify it all to myself.

I am sooo far behind on this thread I am sure I will never catch up! I did see an adorable little girl in a beautiful pettiskirt and two beautiful girls with butterscotch! I can't believe you made those two in an hour! you are good, Tom! I haven't been able to keep up because I am trying to figure out how to use my NEW SEWING MACHINE!!!!! My dear sweet husband bought me a machine that sews and embroiders, so I have been having a blast trying to figure this thing out! I have several projects that are waiting to be sewn, so hopefully I will have something to share soon!

Congrats on the new machine. I wish I could use the Kens email. Everyone knew I had my eye on a machine at Walmart and I got gift cards for there. I should have asked for Visa cards.

Nana, I think you also recommened a Serge. I've been using my Mom's, and it's only a year and a half old. I think it fried. She thinks she just needs to get the foot repaired, but I think it didn't make it. Once I get it to the shop to be looked at, I want to save for my own. No more headaches over someone elses "stuff".

I can't remember whose daughter chose Surf's Up for her party but I actually did a Surf's Up shirt back in the summer with cody. I didn't like the way it turned out but Dallas liked it. I should have used a different shirt because that was my biggest issue!

Heads up for all the scrapboookers out there...

If you have a Recollections store near you, you might want to run over there and check out whether they are closing or not, the one near me is, and everything was 20% off. I managed to grab some nice Disney papers (while my DH was fussing about it) for really cheap, including some Chef Mickey paper. I'd never seen it before, it's really cute, it could be used for any character meal it doesn't say Chef Mickey's on it.

I bought a lined tote bag pattern yesterday because we're trying to get Delaney back into her own bed, she likes having a bag to put her teddy and flashlight in when she comes across the house to my bedroom. I had her pick out the fabric she wanted so it looks like I'll be making a Tweety bag and she asked for a top to be made out of the same stuff so I got enough. I picked up one of those For Dummies patterns and I am perplexed by the pattern but I haven't started yet but it looks confusing. I'll probably be here asking for help or I might just butcher it myself.

OOH! I've been drooling over that machine! I am seriously contemplating the PE700ii that is at HSN. Though, I'm holding out right now until I can get in touch with a dealer to see if the PE750D has a USB port. I really want that! If I find that it has a port, I think I'm going for it! Please let us know how you like your machine. I'm dying to know!
