I just about finished the set! I still have to do her eyelashes, by hand. Wouldn't you know it I can't find a needle. I plan on giving this to my almost 2 yo. neice for Christmas. Is it ok or should I skip it and try Elmo? All I see are my mistakes and what I should have done.

Here is the image I used.

:worship: :worship: :worship: seriously!!

for those that are making matching doll outfits. There is a really easy(and cheap) way to make tights to fit Bitty and AG. If anyone needs the directions, I can type it up and maybe have Teresa joy add it to the links.

PLEASE! I want to know!

HOLY COW!!!!!!! That is awesome!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

The dress I made, the bodice was blue satin. I am in a way regretting the material, the sleeves were a #@%$#@ to sew on!:scared1: I am starting on my other DDs dress, I cut out the material this evening. Just have to find time to actually sew it together.! :rotfl:

Everyone, your creativity is so inspiring, I get so many good ideas from everyone! But, 2cutekidz, that is great! I have got to teach myself to applique!

We just got back from the Christmas party for the kids' choir. Megan is really cranky! I tried to get some pictures for Christmas cards before we left and this was the best one. I am thinking of chucking my perfectionist tendencies and use it just to get them done!

Hey, do I see some teeth?? I think it's a really cute picture Steph(anie)
Here are a few patterns. Unfortunately, I don't know if any of them are still in print. I got them from :wizard: a few years ago.

I know I have more, and there might be some similar ones available now. Hope this is what you're looking for!
I have that Simplicity one. And...
I'm PRETTY sure that the McCalls one is the same pattern as this:

Seriously, I think it is! :rotfl: Even though, it went terribly wrong on Corey, the ones she made my neice were absolutely adorable!! So, dont' let this picture scare you away from that pattern!

Awwwwwww your girls are adorable in their matchy matchy outfits.....sooooo cute :cutie: Great job!!!! I know its a lot of work to sew everything twice!!!!

Leslie! I love Abba Cadabby or whatever her name is! She looks GREAT! I cannot believe you see imperfections and would even think of not giving it to her!

I love SS! It was the first thing I ever appliqued but for a quilt. Sadly enough, 2 years later, maybe 3 I only have 3 squares done!

Steph, I have those same fabrics! They look really cute together!

I think your picture looks great too!

I haven't had time to get the "perfect" Christmas photo, so I will probably not send out any cards! There goes my perfectionist attitude again!;)

This looks FANTASTIC! You did a great job! What a nice thing for you to do!

This is really cute. I think it will be good for Christmas cards. I like Megan's top. Your son looks good in his red t-shirt too.

I think it's an adorable picture. I really like that Rudolph outfit.

Sooooo cute! They look adorable!

Thank you! I finished the doll dress last night and was trying it on when Megan came out of bed. She was crying because, get this, she missed the quarters she put in the salvation army bucket earlier and could I please call the lady and ask for them back! :rotfl2: I think she was too upset to notice what I was doing (I hope, anyway!). I'll post pictures when she is safely at school.

Oh and Teresa, the first three we took were without teeth. I kept yelling "teeth please!" When she finally realized I wasn't going to stop until I saw teeth she smiled nicely.

Oh Leslie! Where do I start?
1) Megan walked by when I was scrolling through and said, hey! Abby Cadabby, cute! So I wouldn't worry about it not being recognized!
2) Mistakes? It looks perfect! Did you use variegated thread for the hair? However you did it it looks spectacular! I hope you are proud!

OMG those girls are so cute! The dresses are great but you could really put those babies in paper sacks and they would be adorable! You are going to have the best Christmas cards!

Megan actually picked them out when I took her to JoAnn's when she had pink eye. Why do I see her telling that to a therapist some day?

With all the beautiful outfits you have, you'd better get Leigh in one and take a picture! You can't deny your friends and family a peek at her, she is too cute!

These turned out very cute! Your girls are just precious!

Poor thing! You'd be surprised at how many calls we (The Salvation Army) get for different things that have accidentally been dropped in a kettle. I hope she doesn't miss the quarters too much. If so, PM me, maybe I can help you out. AND I hope she didn't notice your project!

Ladies knee highs!!!!!

Walmart sells 1 pair of ladies knee highs (in the little egg) for .39. 1 egg equals two pair of tights. Walmart usually has some really fun colors.

Remove 1 knee high and turn it inside out. Smooth out the wrinkles. The top (open part) becomes the waist. Make a small mark in the middle of the stocking about 5 inches from the top of the waist. (This will be the "crotch")

tights1.jpg

Fold the stocking in half long ways. Make a mark 1/2 inch from the middle on either side of the middle. These are the feet.

tights2.jpg

Starting at the toe stitch up the leg from one mark to the top mark. Stitch from the top mark down the other leg. Cut up the middle between the two stitch lines. (Be careful not to cut the stitches or cut too close to the stitches) You can serge the inside seam but it is not necessary. Trim as needed and turn rightside out. (You can also "shorten" the legs of the tights by sewing across the toes)

Once I had made a few pair of these, I moved on to using "trouser socks". They are a little more costly, but they tend to be "thicker" and a little more durable. They also have some neat patterns that look really cute as tights. Just remember to only use socks with no heel.
