Hey everybody! I thought a couple of weeks ago that I would be back on on a regular basis but mother nature wasn't done with me. I'm feeling much better now, hopefully the worst of morning (or all day as it is with me) sickness is behind me. I won't go into the gory details but YUCK!

I just finished up 6 shepherd costumes for DD4's Christmas program. The teacher asked me last week if I could make them and I had to have them done by today for tomorrow's program. YIKES! Definitely not my best work but they are finished and that is all I can say. NO pictures will be posted, they really are bad!

I haven't even logged on lately. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the Christmas season. I know there is no catching up for me now!
Wow 6 shepherds! Congratulations on your pregnancy!
HELP!!!! I'm on the "vacation" from
well, you know where.

UGH!! I'm in Arizona in a little house full of 12 in-laws (including us) and 5 dogs, none of which are particularly housebroken. I'm sicker than a dog, with it coming out both ends (TMI, I know). Tessa, Henry, and Sawyer were all sick every other day we've been here. I've been covered in someone else's bodily fluids at least 2x a day.

Now, I love my in-laws, I truly do. But, I just want to be at home!!!! I miss you all and I can't wait until I can get back to chatting with you. Don't forget me!!!!

 Sorry you are sick :sad1: Hope everyone gets better quick!

Here is what I was working on this week. These are Christmas presents for my neice. Now I need to make some for DD.

I love the making these jeans, but man, are they tedious!

th_IMG_2682.jpg

Nightgowns. DD is right, they're too pretty to be jammies! I was able to make these with 2 yards of fabric (bought for .99 a yard on Black Friday :whoohoo: ). I used the scraps for Bitty's gown. Next time I'll get a little more so I can do a ruffle on the doll's nightgown.

th_IMG_2681.jpg

Great job! We love HSM! that is a cute outfit! And, those nightgowns are GORGEOUS!!!!

okay, a while back someone asked for a list of what is in the I-spy bags. Here is my completed list;

friendship pin (think back to the 80's I know you had some on your shoelaces)

Friendship pins were so fun!

Hi everyone,

Sorry I have been absent the last few days and not commenting on all the cute stuff! Hosted a Christmas party this weekend, sewed up 5 pairs pajama pants for a friend, finished making my Christmas cards, DD2 had a dislocated elbow :scared1: DH's work just said "oh, can you get on a plane to Orlando (from Salt Lake City) in 2 hours?" so he took off yesterday with no notice (and I'm soooo jealous he's going to Orlando, even though I'll be there soon!) and now I have a horrible chest cold and some fabric I ordered from :wizard: is MIA. The post office tracking system says they have it, but after waiting in line for a looooong time with a 2 year old and a 5 year old they say :confused3 :confused3 :confused3 "why don't you bring in the delivery attempt notice that the mail carrier NEVER LEFT, wait in line again, and we'll look again, even though I already looked everywhere." I just want to cry. But on the good side, my favorite quilting store happened to have 20% off everything today and I got some cute valentine's fabric and fabric for a cupcake skirt I want to make, never mind that they are waaayyyyy down on a loooong list of things I need to make. Okay, thanks for listening to the vent. I love everything you all have been up to, but for some reason I only saw the red x in Misty's pictures of Jayedyn and I need to see them!!!!! And thanks for reminding me of all the doll clothes on my "to do" list! DD2 is getting Bitty Baby for Christmas and DD10 is getting Julie. We love Kit, she has the best hair! They say they need their own hairbrush so that they don't get any oils from human hair in their hair.

BUSY BUSY BUSY!!! How is your daughter doing??

wow those are cute , i am inspired to applique some jeans now ..

thanks for the ideas

wow i am exhausted just reading that .. wow how did lil girl dislocate her elbow? OUCHHHH:hug:
i am not going to even touch the doll issue i am trying to avoid it like the plague:laughing:
sorry about your fabric, i hope that you find it safe and sound:hourglass and if you need some gal pals to run around with while dh is away  call me and wendy ...:thumbsup2

That looks great! She did a fantastic job designing it!

All of these doll outfits has inspired me. Has anyone used the Sewboutique 4 Dolly "volumes"? Deciding if I "need " them or if I should go with some Simplicity patterns. I like that with the YCMT patterns they could match DD's outfits. Hmmmm.... does anyone have a YCMT coupon code? Just a FYI - I downloaded the Free patterns and they aren't full patterns, they are "companion" patterns that go with the other ones. One does have a cute Santa hat though.

They do have a free skirt and peasant top pattern to make for chairty.

These are sooo cute Lori! Anyone know of any cute overall patterns for girls? I mean for my one year old.

I've been MIA for a few days. DD4 was in Children's Hospital for MRSA in her arm. How the heck did she get that? Actually, she had it a little over a year ago and did attend daycare at that time. The docs said some people get colonized with it. Great.

Anyway, we're back home and she's feeling much better. But I'm so far behind for Christmas. I was already and then to miss a few days, it puts me farther back. But as long as DD is better, that's all that matters!

Now to catch up on my reading!

Don't worry, Teresa and I have been having long e-mail conversations about you: we anxiously await your return!

Cute! I would love to see them modeled, of course! Did you use a pattern or wing it?

Ok, I just googled MRSA and I am so scared for you! :scared1: I hope your daughter is all better now. Do they think it will come back, or did they finally get rid of it?

She's getting a strong form of antibiotics - orally and an ointment that we put on the wound and in her nose. Luckily, she's a very good medinice taker. Supposedly, MRSA is harbored in the nose, so putting it there should kill it. However, we did this before and it came back. She has another doctor's appt tomorrow and I have a lot of questions.

I don't have a pattern, but I think it would be really cute to use the pattern above and do a ruffle at the hem, and it would make it girly. Just a thought.

Great idea! Thanks!

This pattern is McCalls 2033 and it lookslike it could be used for boys or girls.

Thank you! I just love the little one piece outfits, they are so cute!

Hope your DD is better soon! My DD broke her arm (climbing out of the crib) just before she turned 2. She got a staph infection in the palm of her hand under the cast. It was sooooo awful! They even took her cast off early to treat it. It took forever, antibiotics, ointments, and lots of prayers to get rid of it! That is one reason I really freaked out when she dislocated her elbow. It was the same arm she broke and I was horrified that it was broken again! For those who asked, she was standing on a small, empty cardboard box and it collapsed in and she fell and that is how she dislocated her elbow. She was in extreme pain and her arm hung limp so we took her to the Dr. and had xrays. The second it popped back in (which did not seem to hurt) she was completely fine and normal again. I am very relieved! And Misty, loved Jayedyn's Christmas outfit! It looks adorable on her! I am finally sewing again (something other than Christmas pj pants I mean). I'm working on my Cinderella snowflake Wal-Mart CAB. It's fun to be doing something I want to do again!

I mostly finished DD's apron Minnie dot dress (Butterick 5019) and the neck hole is HUGE on her - so big that the shoulder straps just barely stay on her shoulders without falling down her arm. I am thinking I might be able to shirr the back a bit to make it fit better. I have never shirred so wish me luck. A big snow storm is on its way so no time to go to the store to buy elastic thread today.

Hi everyone. I have been a lurker for only a couple of days but I want to tell everyone that your sewing skills are beautiful. My mom is getting me a sewing machine for christmas. A couple of you have mentioned the Brother Disney one, which model do you all have? And does it sew and embroider too? Thanks in advance for your help. I plan to take some sewing lessons after the new year and then I too can post some things when I complete them. I love all the outfits. DD2 will probably get most of them. DS8 and DS6 maybe some PJs. :)

I love the bottom ruffles, very cute! It does look a bit gap-y in the front, I wonder how that happened? I hope the shirring takes care of it, because it is very cute. Although I only did it one time, I found shirring to be very easy!

I don't have a brother, but I wanted to say welcome! I'm glad you found us and can't wait until you start showing off your projects!

Well, I finished a Rudolph jumper for Megan and might tackle a matching one for her dolly (thanks to Leslie ) but I think I should probably run out to the sports store first, both kids need new shin guards. Megan's are too small and Jacob's are too big. It's always something!

That ought to make her paranoid! ;)

It looks really cute! I hope you can fix it to stay on her shoulders, but just looking at your picture of it, it looks great!

OOOH, how exciting! Another new sewer!!! :welcome: Once you get your machine, make sure you check out the photobucket account with all the creations in it and the bookmarks, with tons of directions. The links are on the first post of this thread, and the bookmarks are in my siggy. We can't wait to see what you make!

Hey Everyone,

Sorry I wasn't really around the board the past two weeks. Everyone's creations look great! I'm finally starting to feel like myself again, and now I need to get back to sewing!!

Disney 4 me: I hope your DD gets well soon! Christmas is a rough time to be sick, and even worse for something so scary!

HeatherSue: FEEL BETTER! That happened to us 2 years ago over Thankgiving. The whole family got a huge, nasty stomach flu, and we were all miserable. Now, when we look back to the wrestling matches for the bathrooms, we laugh, but it was MISERABLE when it was happening.

For the poster who asked about girl overalls (I'm sorry, I lost my multi-quote and forget who), I have a pattern that has gathers under the bust area, and is really cute. I'll see if I can find it. I have the kids home today, but tomorrow, I'll look. If I find it, I'll scan the pattern and post it.

I hope everyone's having a great holiday!!
