Okay, don't know what to do. My sewing machine is about 10 years old. At the time I bought it, it was the cheapest Singer at
Walmart, so I'd be surprised if I spent more than $100 on it. I have been calling around for repairs on it and all estimates are from $85-$90. It is not a great machine, pretty basic and I'm always having problems with the bobbin case popping out, which I've heard is a problem with that model. I do have my mom's 50 year old Singer, which never breaks, but I can only do a straight stitch on it (I have a giant clunky zig-zag attatchment for it that makes a ruffler foot look dainty, but it does not work well enough for a satin stitch). I might as well buy a new machine, right? But really can't afford it right now since I just bought a serger. The brother 7700 is on sale right now at costco.com for $169, does anyone know how much it costs in the store? I know on-line Costco automatically factors in shipping to the price. It is probably a moot point anyway, but just trying to figure my options. Our Disneyworld trip is coming up in January and I have a lot of appliques planned that I have not done yet. Just needed to vent I guess, don't know what I will do.
