Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 5

I just wanted to say that I miss you all and I'm thinking of you everytime I see a custom outfit. I have stopped a couple people with kids in customs (good thing I'm not shy) but I haven't found TNMom yet but I'm not giving up just yet! I'll probably find her at MVMCP.

I've been keeping up when we're back in the room because I don't want to keep up when we get home.

I thought I posted yesterday but I can't find it, I did stop one mom who reads the disboards but didn't know about us. She made her two DDs customs so hopefully she'll stop over when she gets home.

o2bacelt - I hope you're having a great time!! I totally know what you mean about trying to keep up, I missed a couple days and had like 40 pages to read

I'm looking for some sewing labels that say Hand Made by Mommy. Or Sewn for You By Chantell. Does anyone have a source they use? I found www.namemaker.com, but don't know anything about them. I'd like to buy some for a Christmas present.

TIA!

Chantell

Good Morning!
I don't know if anyone has answered this yet, but....This website is the same company that makes the labels that are sold at Joann's and Hancock fabric stores ....very good company. I personally make my own labels now with my embroidery machine but I have in the past purchased some of thier labels and was quite happy with them. Nana

I just spent all night trying to organize all of my fabric! Geez, I didn't know I had that much!

I was so frustrated trying to find a piece of fabric for a project that I am working on, I had to put it on hold to organize!
Still not done, but I have filled most of one large bookcase with fabric. Sorted by color or season.

Now the ribbon, wicky wack;) , buttons, and other stuff needs to be organized too, but I am too tired!

Keep up all the inspiring ideas! You all amaze me with your talents!

OOHHH do share some pictures of your organization. I am constantly organizing and reorganizing my things. I would love to see how you organize.

Good Morning All! (It is still morning here on the West Coast! ;) )

I should be out Christmas shopping, making the kids candy advents, doing Christmas cards, cleaning house, getting on the treadmill, wrapping presents, getting the Christmas decorations down from the attic, etc, etc. But all I want to do it SEW! I know you all understand! I whipped up (really - this one was fast!) this dress the other day for DD. She picked out the fabric herself and really loves it.

All of this fabric was crammed into about 15 different Rubbermaid containers!

Now it is all neatly folded and organized, at least in my mind!

I won't have to juggle falling over containers, and now I have lots more room to work!

I used some of the containers to store all the trims, ribbons, and buttons that we have accumulated.

Sometimes I'm gad all my stuff fits into a laundry basket:rotfl:

Jham...once again, you could put that little girl in a paper bag and she'd be the cutest kid around. But her dress is almost as cute. I saw that fabric but was too lazy (and brain fried) to go beyond the christmas isle to find coordinates, you did a great job!

I got all my fabric cut for the fabric swap last night and I am hoping to get Little's christmas outfit cut up tonight. Still trying to decide on the pattern layout, which fabric where?? I am rethinking the plaid.

anyway, I gotta jet to the post office. Then home to clean and decorate.

...t.

I just love the dress with Baby Jesus on it!!! And what a nice fabric stash you have ready to go! Sorry about your teeth....my DD just broke a tooth yesterday so they ended up pulling it since it was a baby tooth anyways. Hope all goes well for you at the dentist.
Thanks! Eeek - How did DD do having her tooth pulled?

I found some at JoAnn - they have quite a few different ones - made by mommy, made with love, made by grandma, etc....

I love this!

Thank you!

I really, really like this! The fabric is wonderful.

Awe - thanks!

Hoooray got tickets for DD8 for Hannah Montana concert in DC in a second chance sale ! Miley World sent out a letter about it with a code and the address  :woohoo:. I was in shock when I actually got them LOL. They will be a gift from Santa :santa: . Now I just have to find something for her to wear. I am so happy and so excited for her. When I tried last time to get them for her and could'nt she was so great about it and said "It's ok Mommy I can go another time, I know you tried." So Santa is going to make her dream come true :cloud9: .

WOW Tom that looks great. I love how you have all of your fabric color coordinated! That is how I have my closet, I really like it! Maybe I will clean the rubber stamps out of my cabinet and put my fabric in there. I don't have time for that hobby any more now that I have found this thread. :rotfl: Thanks for the idea! Good work.

Okay, don't know what to do. My sewing machine is about 10 years old. At the time I bought it, it was the cheapest Singer at Walmart, so I'd be surprised if I spent more than $100 on it. I have been calling around for repairs on it and all estimates are from $85-$90. It is not a great machine, pretty basic and I'm always having problems with the bobbin case popping out, which I've heard is a problem with that model. I do have my mom's 50 year old Singer, which never breaks, but I can only do a straight stitch on it (I have a giant clunky zig-zag attatchment for it that makes a ruffler foot look dainty, but it does not work well enough for a satin stitch). I might as well buy a new machine, right? But really can't afford it right now since I just bought a serger. The brother 7700 is on sale right now at costco.com for $169, does anyone know how much it costs in the store? I know on-line Costco automatically factors in shipping to the price. It is probably a moot point anyway, but just trying to figure my options. Our Disneyworld trip is coming up in January and I have a lot of appliques planned that I have not done yet. Just needed to vent I guess, don't know what I will do. :sad2:

Better late than never...here are a couple of outfits that I made for my DD and my DN for Thanksgiving. They both loved them and loved that they got to match with each other. They are very close to each other (18mos difference), probably because my sister and I have a relationship like Teresa and Heather do, so they hang out all the time. We always joke that our kids act and argue more like brothers and sisters than cousins!:rotfl: My sis and I were both very sad that our 3rd kids were both boys and that our girls won't get to have a relationship with a sister like we did. So we both think that it is great that they are so close!!!

Pics are done uploading so here we go...

Oh this really stinks!!! I don't really know much about repairs, but I do think that if it is going to cost that much then you might as well just get a new one! Good luck with what ever you decide, it seems like when it rains it pours. Maybe you could ask for a new machine for Christmas? Maybe Santa will bring one!;) Hang in there and hopefully you will get a new machine soon, because you do great work!

My mom had a 50 year old Singer too and when she went to update it all the ladies in the quilt shop told her not to get a Singer. Now I guess they are very junky. I'm sorry yours quit on you. I don't think it would be worth it get it fixed. If I remember, the Brother got good reviews and seems like a good investment. I know, now you seem stuck between and rock and a hard place.

I love the matching girl outfits! I wish Megan had a cousin close to her age who lived near us. The dresses looks great and that is some twirl!

Here is what I did this afternoon. The hardest part was sewing on the buttons. I have some sort of button problem and have the worst time sewing them on. It didn't help that it is 85 degrees here and the needle was slipping out of my sweaty fingers! Oh well, Megan liked it. One more to go for Jacob!

I've missed posting lately..I've kept up pretty good with the pages, but just haven't had the time to really post and reply. Our Disney trip is in one week and I have exactly nothing finished for it...I'm beyond depressed. But it will be okay, because we'll be in Disney and I can't wait for it!!

Do your little girls like wearing customs? Last night I told my niece that I bought a sewing machine to make her some cute Disney clothes. I told her I was going to make a Christmas shirt similar to her Halloween shirt to practice. Her response? BLECH :crazy2:, everyone at school made fun of me that day. I don't want anymore outfits. Then I tried to show her some of the outfits on photobucket you all have made, I got a :crazy2:, :crazy2:, :crazy2:, for most of them.

She's 7. Is she too old? I told her that your little girls love their outfits. I was really upset last night. If she doesn't lose the attitude she won't be going on a trip to WDW with my husband and I.

Both of mine declared they were too old for twirls. I can get dd5 to wear peasant tops and decopage jeans (and a certain outfit from an awesome poster on :wizard: she's looking forward to getting for our trip next week!). Dd9 will wear decopage jeans and she likes the look of the peasant top, but the shirring on hers is giving me fits and I'm having a hard time getting it finished. I feel your pain.:)

And I have these projects staring me in the face!
PJ's for DD:
th_DSC_1814.jpg

Today was pajama day at school - I forgot to snap a pic of my kiddos this AM - but will get one when they come home! They are wearing their matching Disney Store Christmas jammies! I wanted to get DD's HM gown done yesterday - but just couldn't! I had a crown prep done in the morning and wasn't feeling up to par. I was upset that my previous crown (11 years ago) broke - I just hate spending money on it - and was putting it off. The quick repair the dentist did so I could go to Disney World broke about a week ago and I was super bummed - so God decided to teach me a lesson in "it could always be worse" and two days after my crown repair broke a 1/4 of my tooth on the other side of my mouth broke off!!! So in the next 4 weeks I will have 2 crown preps and 2 seats!!! Eeek - sorry for the ramble!
Lori
I kept thinking "She's been wearing a crown for 11 years? That's a long time, I wonder if it's silver with lots of jewels, and how does she keep her daughter from wearing it and does she only wear it to Disney World?" :rotfl2: Yes, I'm a bit slow.
I'm sorry you have to have so much dental work done. I hate that!!!

I love that baby Jesus in the manger!!! And the other fabrics for jammies are my favorite types of colors, I love them...

has anyones child ever taken the cogat test?
We don't do the cogat, we to the Taks...Ugh. They teach for it...starting in the third grade.

Hey Everyone! THank you so much for all the kind words about my surgery, Mother, and the dress. (for the lady who asked, I am having my gallbladder out on Wednesday)

Here's a pic of DD in it:
th_DSCN0694.jpg

Again, thank you all for the kind words! They mean a lot. I was feeling realy down yesterday. I have people coming over in 10 minutes, so I have to run, but I wanted to say a big

THANK YOU!!
I wanted to post when I read your original post but got sidetracked. I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I have one like her or something like her I'm betting, so I understand how frustrating and sad it can be. I wish you all the best and wanted you to know I think that dress is beautiful!

Those are really cute shirts you've done! I've been reading about your neighbor whose daughter you made that awesome outfit for in you siggy, hoping she's had the good sense to finally come and say thank you for it. If not, I'd help you go on a recon mission to get it back! It's an awesome outfit! The only other thing I could think of, is maybe her dh stuck it somewhere and it's buried beneath a pile of stuff....my house always has piles. My dh once forgot to tell his first wife (when they wer married) a relative of his had died. :lmao: Men just aren't good at that sort of thing. I'm trying to give her the benefit of the doubt!
