Hi ladies (and Tom). Just wanted to post a pic of my dd's Christmas dress. I need to readjust the buttons b/c the neckline ruffle is way too high. I think we might also go with a shirt that is not red. Pardon the messy hair!!!

IMG_1523.jpg

I'm sure I remember someone saying that they needed to make NEW eye spy pillows, I assume cause their kids found everything and are bored w/ them or could use a change of scenery...maybe someone can send one to Mindy for her kids car trip to WDW????

I'd make her one but she has me enslaved already.;)

...t.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Yep that's right, I am a slave driver!:rotfl:

LOVE THIS! Your daughter is ADORABLE!

I made two more out of some scrap fleece, ok it was an old hoodie that dd2 outgrew, but still scrap!! I was going to make some of those photo tiles too, did you use shrinky dink printer paper? I have instructions for using that to make a charm bracelet out of photos and thought that would be cool for these Ispy bags.

Actually I made them out of polymer clay and iron on transfer paper. They were sort of a pain, lol. I'll see if I can find the directions to post...I know they're here somewhere...

I'm lovin' all the new creations and the eye spy bags!! I am soooo going to try and make a bunch of these for some added Christmas presents to the kids I'm buying for.

I was 30+ pages behind again! Yikes! I can't keep doing this to myself! I hate being away everyone moves too fast.

I was so busy last week making Thanksgiving dresses for my girls for their preschool Feast on Friday. Finally finished them off Thursday night just in time for me to get started on my contributions for their respective feasts. I brought the turkey, stuffing and gravy for Grace (dd4) and cookies for Claire (dd2). I quickly remembered that I hate messing with poultry and made my DH clean it out and everything. I also remembered why I hadn't made any decorated cookies since June (when I made 350 for SIL's wedding for favors). These actually were very simple cookies and didn't take long to do, but definitely longer than chocolate chip. To top it all off my kids don't actually like them:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: !

So now it is on to our actual Thanksgiving. My sister is pregnant and due 12/25 and can't travel. She is in Chicago and I'm in Dallas so it is a problem. Luckily all of our extended family on my Mom's side lives in the Chicagoland area so she will spend it with them and my parents are coming here for Thanksgiving. My DH works for GE and every year (yes, I'm bitter about this!) they have a convention in Chicago that starts for the vendors Saturday after Thanksgiving so every year he leaves in the middle of the weekend:sad1: . I know I should be thankful that he has a great job and is seen as a great salesman which is why he is always picked to go, but I really with they would rotate who has to go! So now I'm trying to get all of our decorations up before he leaves (at 5'4" I'm vertically challenged and he's 6'3") and clean and cook for Thursday.

Of course, I also have to get started on Christmas outfits for the girls. I actually think I've bought enough fabric to make around 5 for each of the girls (I know, what was I thinking?) so I had better get started soon! Hopefully I'll stay caught up this week!

Beautiful outfits everyone, love all of the Christmas/Thanksgiving things everyone has made. I would love to have commented on all of them but I think my response would have taken up a page all by itself! Welcome to all of the newbies who have come out of lurkdom too! Keep up the great work! I'm off to vacuum and clean before going to bed. Good night everyone!

Look what I just made :)

_MG_1472.jpg

It was really easy and fun to make...now I have to add the tag so the girls know what to look for.

Alix

ps - check out the small photo tile on the bottom left, yep I made that...not that this is a shameless post for ohhs and ahhs or anything, lol
Ohhhhh! Awwww! (sorry, I couldn't resist!) What a great idea! I think I have some of your same "findees" ...the little teeney tiney extra pieces in the Princess Polly-Pocketish packages that I save from the vacuum.
I'm sure I remember someone saying that they needed to make NEW eye spy pillows, I assume cause their kids found everything and are bored w/ them or could use a change of scenery...maybe someone can send one to Mindy for her kids car trip to WDW????

I'd make her one but she has me enslaved already.;)

...t.
Me! I'm redoing mine. One has a slow-leak hole that needs to be redone. I swear, those I-spy pillows are WELL used either in the car or to keep them busy during church. I have to say, attach the laminated list to the pillow some how, because my lists are gone. Another reason I need to re-do them. And for pre-readers, you can lay the "findees" all out onto a color copier at Kinkos and cut them out and laminate them into little cards you can punch a hole into and attach the list with a little metal loopy-thing. The possibilities are endless.

I also wanted to do a Holiday themed one with winter/Christmas themed "findees". The more stuff, the better.

th_IMG_1523.jpg

That is cute! Messy hair is practically a requirement here. There should also be a clutter pile in the background of each picture. Or a cat. Definitely a fat food wrapper of some sort....;) Its the rules!

Can I just say that I am really excited that everyone is so excited about the Eye spy bags? I love it when I can post something that is such a hit! (not that I've actually posted a picture of the ones I've made!) Thanks to everyone for posting your pictures and tips!

That gets funnier every time I see it! And I can't decide what's the funniest part, Heather making that or Corey wearing it! You know I love you Heather, but that is too funny! And believe me, if I had pics of my sewing disasters, I'd most definitely share, but alas they all have been destroyed!!! Well, I wouldn't call those a disaster, they are wearable!
It is funny, isn't it!! Corey is such a good sport!

Yeah, I'm wondering about that vinyl too. Do you think a clear shower curtain would work? I only thought about that because I washed mine yesterday and it got shredded So I have to buy a new one today! I bet it was a funny sight in the shower this morning, hugging the wall while the water sprayed on the wall to prevent it flooding the bathroom! The fabric curtain is still there, but I didn't want it getting too wet either!
Yah got me crackying up!
First of all, how could you leave Jord's cousin crammed in a box full of other toys, as if he/she was just an inanimate object?
It was REALLY REALLY hard for me to leave her there! I came SOOOO close to asking someone if I could have her! She looked a little dirty, and needed a bath, I felt so bad just leaving her there!
Second, I couldn't resize this picture of Corey, it's just priceless! I love that kid!
He is rather fond of you too!
A 4 11/12 year old- you cracky me up!!
You know I did that just for you! Although, she isn't officialy 4 11/12 until Monday!

Also, thanks for mentioning magic sizing. I saw it at Dollar Tree and had to buy it, because you said so.

You should have seen how excited she was!!! Hopping up and down yelling, "MAGIC SIZING MAGIC SIZING!!!! Do I need it???? I don't care, I'm buying it!!!!" Giddy she was! She was practically skipping about the store with her find!
I am so excited!! Last night I stayed up 'til midnight optimizing my ruffler!! Before I found this thread, I never would have imagined that I'd type that sentence. Anyway, if you haven't read the free "ruffler unruffled" PDF from youcanmakethis.com, you've got to read it! If you haven't downloaded it, you have to sign up for their mailing list and then you can download some free patterns and stuff. Anyway, I used the calculations in the tutorial and my ruffle turned out the perfect length for the skirt I was making. It was like MAGIC!!!

YEAH Heather!!! And, your post of course, made me chuckle!

Thank you HeatherSue!!! You know, the "original" Jord was CPK-napped earlier this year.......hmmmm maybe NOW we have a suspect. Where was your sister the first week of March?

Cindee

:scared1: OH NO!!! I was in Michigan freezing my tushy off in March, dreaming of my May trip to Disney! As yet unaware of the famous Jord!

I bought a pattern for an eye-spy bag several years ago. Then I bought the little plastic bead thingies at Wal-Mart. Then my kids got into them and spilled them all over. Then I bought more. I also bought a bunch of cute little stuff to put in it (I remember the pattern suggesting anything smaller than a nickel). And it is all sitting in my craft room closet! Now I don't know how we will possibly make it through church today without one! I need to go buy some vinyl and figure out my serger and make some up! I think I'll do some for Christmas gifts too! You know what would be so cool in those? Those teeny Disney collectible figures they just came out with. You can only buy them in the parks. I bought 2 packs but they are too expensive ($5 for a pack of 3 teeeeny figures) But they are MINE all MINE so they probably won't find their way into any I Spy bags.

There are just so many funny things in your post! Let's just say, I was crackying up reading this!

Are your directions much different from the ones I posted?
That is so sweet! Now I'm crying again. I guess I just miss my parents more right now because of the holidays. My oldest 2 have great memories of my mom. She was one of those grandmas that is all about the grandkids (like you!) DHs dad and step mom will be in town (they live in Canada) for days before even making time to see my kids and it breaks my heart. Yesterday I was just remembering that when I was my daughter's age, my mom would let us have her fabric scraps and use her sewing machine to make "Barbie clothes" I even remember sewing kleenex dresses. I have her machine now, I should really let DD make doll clothes. That is a good memory. Okay, sorry to ramble, like I said, missing my parents.
Now, you have me crying too! I can't imagine not having my Mom around, she is so wonderful! Can you believe, the other day she was telling me how lucky SHE was to be able to see us and her grandchildren so often??? I told her, "Mom, I think you have that backwards, it us who are the lucky ones!" She is truly wonderful! We didn't have a Grandma like that growing up, Grandma has allways been "distant". Although, there were a few years after we got married, and Brian and I would go to Florida and stay with Granma and Grandpa for a week, where she was almost the kind of Grandma that I'd dreamed of having. That was before Grandpa died, though. Grandpa was pretty special. Now, I have myself crying about the Grandma I never had, and the Grandpa that is gone. :( I miss him, he died when I was pregnant with Lyddy. I know he would have loved her and Tessa.

I too miss my Grandma more because of the holidays. My DD never got to meet my Grandma. But I think my Grandma would have LOVED her. My Mother, well she is not really a cookie baking, sewing Grandma. I hope my DD will be able to make fond memories with her.
To bad we can't choose our familes, our kids could have a "Aunt Heather, Aunt Teresa Joyce (I remembered :lmao: ) and Aunt Lisa and cousin JORD!"

Cindee

Aww, Cindee, I'm allready crying, now you have me bawling like a baby! I would love to be an honorary Aunt!

I use aquarium filler (found at walldemort in the fish department). I used clear for the younger kids, and colored to make the other one more difficult. I used fleece for the back, clear vinyl for the window, and felt for the top, just zig zagged on my machine. I just found little things (polly pocket stuff works great) around the house: buttons, paperclips, small toys, etc...

I have to say, not only does it keep my kids quiet at church, but all the adults and children sitting near us:goodvibes. They are really fun to play with. Hope this gives someone some ideas

DSC02238.jpg
These are great! I love the aquarium filler idea!!! Corey really had fun with the one I made Lydia the other day, but I think he would enjoy one that was a little more challenging too!
Hey All!

FINALLY got caught up! Everything looks amazing! I'm sorry I don't have more time to individually recognize all fo the awesome creations.

I have to warn you guys, if you have extremely rough kids, to be careful about double or triple encasing the insides fo the i-spy pillows. I had made a few I-Spy pillows for my kids, and DD who was 2 at the time, TORE HERS OPEN on a plane flight from NY to AZ. I'm shocked we didn't get banned from flying air tran ever again, the stuff went EVERYWHERE. (I used the plastic beads you can use for beanbags...they're these little cylinders! They rolled everywhere, it was a health hazard for the poor stewardesses even after they helped us sweep them up.)

So, Since people asked for pics of the wrap pants pattern I posted, I finally dug them out (they were packed away with the summer stuff). DH took the pic, adn I know I look lousy....whaddayawant? It's Laundry and football sunday. Even the kids are getting a pyjama day.

th_DSCN0688.jpg
Thanks for the chuckle about the Eye Spy bag! Although, I don't imagine it was too funny when it happened!

Those pants look SO comfy!!! Thanks for the picture.

I've never had my gall bladder out, but I hope everything goes well for you. And, your mother decides to be supportive and upbuilding, and doesn't make any snide comments about your house!

PS thanks for all the curly hair tips. I have baby fine POKER straight hair and my litte's head abounds with the curls. I have found that braiding it after a bath totally helps but then it seems her curls aren't quite the same in the morning. Fortunately here in the land of high humidity it is usually taken care of as soon as we step outside our humidity controlled bubble.
Dh has curly hair- she gets it from him... he said when she's 12 and is fighting w/ it every day he is going to tell her it's all my fault that throughout my pregnancy I prayed for a baby w/ his thick and curly hair. He says I cursed her. I think she's blessed.

Well, I too think that Lilly is absolutely adorable!!! I agree about the braid making the curls not the same though. It seems that the braid pulls Lyddy's curls out a little. They have more bounce when I can just wash it and let it dry without the braid.

Hi Everyone! I have been busy sewing away all morning on a peasant top and a pair of matching jeans. Boy...what a job. I only have one leg half done. I do have an exam on Tuesday, that I'm so not ready for, so I will have to get to it, this afternoon.
Anywho, thanks for all the inquiries about Miss Ireland. She is feeling better. Her face still has a little red patch that is going away. (if she hadn't picked it, :sad2: it would have been healed by now...) her thumb is almost back to normal, and it's strange. She's kind of slowed down, in a good way, since all f this happend. I think she sees now what can happen, when you go "ape-wild" all the time. She's taking a nap right now, and thanks to Miss Carol, I have to fight Ireland for my computer. She is Webkinz crazy. She loves her little Reindeer, and she sleeps with it every night. She even pushes it around in her baby stroller.
I will be posting photos of my new outfit soon. Maybe even with just one leg done...
Everyone's new outfits are great.
Cindee---Did you make a Grinch outfit for Jord? And I still want to see what you've been making...
Take care everyone!!
Lisa
th_272241216.jpg

I saw this photo, this morning...and it made me wish it was Summer again...
No fair longing for summer when you live in Florida! It snowed here today. I'm cold and can not get warm!

I'm glad Ireland is doing so well! My girls ask about her everyday!

Clearly noone has let sweet-n-sassy know that we DO NOT apologize for....not commenting on every single outfit ever posted, bath tub hair, pj's, not having matching hairbows, messy livingrooms (my2angels, if that's messy, I would like you to come clean MY house!) being off topic, whining, posting really cute pics of our kids in NON disney clothes or storebought clothes just to say hey look my kid is cute! or our sisters posting completely humiliating stories about us. Or much else really. So you are OFF THE HOOK Pj's and all- your kiddos are gorgeous and so are the capes you made, looks like you are off to a great start! :cheer2:
Thank you Tia! (couldnt' resist that!)We need these rules posted on the first post along with the bookmarks and the photos!

This place just ROCKS!
It really does, doesn't it!

Giving myself a shameless bump!
I did a search and came up with Simplicity 9387. I don't know if it's still in print, but you can usually find out of print patterns on Ebay. I think that pretty much any little dress pattern would work though. It's the dot that is going to make it look like Minnie. I would chose one with a full skirt and some poofy sleeves. There is a link to some bloomers on the bookmarks site.

I don't think your children are missing out. It's their grandparents who are missing out on the opportunity to get to know and love your kids. These are precious times that they won't be able to get back.

Now I'm all teary. I'll have to call my grand to say I love you. She is extremely stoic and totally not emotional so she won't understand and she'll shrug it off, but I'll call anyway.

So true T!

Here are the fur cuffs I made yesterday. I machine stitched the tube together, then hand basted it onto the sleeve so I can take it off for washing. They were super easy and I'm satisfied, though I didn't enjoy doing it! dd7 loves them, dd2 on the other hand, wanted it off as soon as she put the shirt on! Two more pair to make today, then I'm done with these!
Furcuffs.jpg
These are adorable Deann! You know, when I first started posting here, I didn't care for the fur cuffs! Now, I HAVE to have some for the girls! Oh, what this thread does to yah!

Okay - HELP!! My sewing machine is making like this sqealy noise - it chirps first and then a big squeal which makes me jump!! DH oiled and cleaned everything!!! Any other ideas? Its an older Kennmore - I hope it doesnt need to go to the shop cause i need it right now!!!

Did you all see the Joann's flyer for this weekend?

Wendy
I have no idea about the machine. Is it sewing ok? Could it be the belt?
here is a random pic... it is from the count's Count Down To Halloween at Seaworld. I was just going through vacay pics and this one is just REALLY good. I think I'll have an 8x10 printed and frame it for Liliana for Christmas
Thought you guys might appreciate it.

Great picture Tiffani!
oh how comfy !!! i had my gallbladder out about 8 yrs ago:goodvibes and do not listen to me! i had a horrible recovery from a same day surgery:scared1: plus i also was nursing a 4 month old , i would just let people help you, i could not walk, breathe:confused: but i found out that my stitches were attached to a small part of my skin, so everytime i moved oucccchhhhh:scared1:
Oh my gosh, that hurts just reading about it!!! I'm so glad that they took my staples out in the hospital when I had my c-sections!

Well, since my sister is well... my sister...and B is an only child I am officially adopting Theresa and Heather for aunts to my children. I hadn't thought of this before, but it makes so much sense!! why didn't I think of that?

Yes, you can adopt us, we don't mind. Plus, I really like your kids names!

Look what I just made :)

Well, duh, that's a given. I didn't think I needed to say it, they like you best you know!

WE LEAVE FOR DISNEY IN 6 DAYS! QUOTE]
You just posted so you could rub that in, didn't you!
Actually I made them out of polymer clay and iron on transfer paper. They were sort of a pain, lol. I'll see if I can find the directions to post...I know they're here somewhere...

OOOH yes, we need directions!

Hi all, been lurking on the boards this past week, I kept thinking I'd get on and say hi to ya'll, but never seemed to put aside the time to do it....I have been working like a fiend to make some things, so here goes...

After spending the whole week figuring out the new machine (Brother cs6000i) and the serger (love this thing!), and the hemmer foot (in heaven) and the ruffler foot (this thing totally ROCKS! I second the person who said to check out the free video demo on ycmt...I read it earlier in the week and the sheets to figure out your ruffles are really helpful) I came up with a few things....

IMG_0031.jpg

dd5 goes to a private kinder program. All she's allowed to wear with her school shirt (navy, because she won't wear the red one) is jeans in any form and khaki's in any form. Because she is such a princess, she'll only wear a jean skort or jean skirt. I thought this might be fun for her to wear for the holiday. Boring, I know, but trust me...it's more exciting than the same five jean skirts we've been wearing!!

IMG_0033.jpg

This I made today, it's totally cased from these boards. Others have been done much better, but for being my fourth skirt ever, I'm happy with it...I thought this would be good for our Animal Kingdom day. For the love of Pete, I just noticed all the threads hanging off of it. Sheesh.

IMG_0035.jpg

I made two of these, one for each girl. The only difference is that the shirts have different dogs on them.

And after all that, these children of mine have informed me that they don't really like the twirl skirts. They tried to be nice about it, but I'm so sad. Dh says they're just too old for that sort of thing. I'm not mad at them, but I'm so totally bummed, it seems like I've wasted an entire week of sewing and who KNOWS how much planning, for nothing. They both said they'd probably like some deco jeans or capris. Sigh. I just don't think they'll want to wear them every day at Disney and how do I decide what to make...jeans or capris? I can look at the weather a few days before we leave to decide what to pack, but I can't wait that long to decide what to MAKE.

Here is my teeny-stash of fabrics I WAS going to use for skirts...
IMG_0034.jpg

I know it's not a big stash, but it's my stash and I wanted to use it.

On the up side, they did like the socks and pony tail doobers I made them...
IMG_0044.jpg

IMG_0045.jpg

And Bob seemed to like his Christmas bandana dd9 and I whipped up
IMG_0039.jpg

Sorry for the horrible pics. Seemed like they looked better than that when I downloaded them.

I know I've missed alot of posts, there are some ADORABLE things you guys have created here. I'm so far behind, I'm not even going to TRY to go back through it, but suffice it to say I've been loving seeing ya'lls stuff.

Sorry to be such a downer. Dh tried to be sweet, but poor guy doesn't really get it. He doesn't realize how excited I was to make something for the girls. I'm sure I'll feel better tomorrow.

I'm off to find something a little more grownup for the girls to wear. Whatever that may be!!

Thanks for reading!

Maggi

So yesterday I went to Hancock Fabric, and they had some Minnie Mouse Dot fabric and I bought about three yards of it! DD was pretty excited to see the fabric when I got home with it. Can someone tell me where I can get a pattern to make a Minnie Mouse dress...she would love one for Chef Mickey when we go Disney next year...? Thanks again!!!!

I think Simplicity 9497 would work well too.

The skirts are adorable. I love the AK one!

I'm so sad for you about your girls not wanting the twirl skirts! Would they wear peasant tops?

And, where did you get that Belle fabric?? Is it the one with the other princesses on it? I've been trying to find just Belle for Arminda forever! That's her favorite princess.

CastleCreations, It was your skirt that gave me the inspiration for the AK skirt (that I just made today and will probably never get seen by anyone else outside of this board), and I just wanted to say thanks! I don't know what policy is on ideas and casing, but I've loved that skirt from the minute I saw it. No way can I make that totally cool shirt that you made though. If we decide to take it with us, dd5 will have to be happy with a zebra or cheetah print Mickey head...:)

Also, yes, I am slow. I just realized this week that I bought some fabric (green mickey head swirl) from you (:wizard:) several weeks ago. I finally put two and two together and figured it out. Durrr.....

Have they tried on the skirt?? I can't see how they wouldn't love it! Maybe they will change their mind!

Thanks for the kind words, I'm sure it'll all work out fine, I'm just bummin. I'm not sure if they'd wear peasant tops. It briefly crossed my mind when everyone here seemed to be making them....and cursing the pattern! :lmao: After that I figured it was out of my league to try it! It's definitely something I'd be up for, I'll have to ask them.

The Belle fabric is indeed the one with all the princesses on it. Sorry! I can't think that I've ever seen one will just Belle...but will add it to my list of things to watch out for when I shop. That and Grinch fabric. :)

They have tried on the skirts...they are adorable on dd5, but dd9 has her baby belly fat still and they're not so cute on her. I think that's why she doesn't like them. Can't figure why dd5 isn't excited. She's got twirly in her DNA. Thought she'd want to wear them 24/7.

I was thinking I'd sit the girls down and show them some of the things ya'll have made and see what they like. My luck, they'll LOVE Tom's stuff, and LisaZoe's stuff and CastleCreations stuff. Nothing that my poor novice brain can handle. But, I was thinking that maybe some of the vertical stripe tops with jeans they might like. It's a little more grownup ( I think) and they could still wear jeans. I was toying with the idea of deco'ing some jeans, farther up on the top, a little way's up in the inside and putting in a button on the outside and a strip of fabric with a button hole on the inside so that we could wear them as regular jeans if it was chilly, or if it was warm, roll them up and button them and there'd be fabric on both sides. Anyone think that would work? My concerns are that it'll make the jeans too bulky, and two, the jeans will be so bulky that they won't be cooler, they'll end up being hotter!!

I also wonder if they'd like the skirts if they weren't so twirly. Any thoughts on how to cut it down, like how much would you take off? I took tnmom's method of calculation (thank you for that!!), so the top strip is double their waist, the second strip is double that and the third strip is double the second strip. I like the way it looks personally, but how might I begin to cut it down? Bearing in mind, I have serged all the seams. (things that sounded like a good idea at the time.)

If you made it this far, thanks for reading my rambling post. Dh says I talk too much, guess he's probably right.

WOW have I missed a lot these last few days. LOVE all of the I Spy bags. They are all so cute and a great idea. I may need to add it to my list. Let's see, my list keeps growing. Present for DN5, Princess stripwork dresses, Mickey/Minnie dresses, that darn blanket that keeps getting pushed back, and now I Spy bags. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. It's very cold here in PA. I feel like I'm sitting on an iceberg. Where's that blanket? Oh, right. Still on my list.

Maggi. I love love love this dog outfit! We have a Bassett Hound, and that is what it looks like you have on the shirt. Where oh where did you get that fabric pretty please???

I'm sorry your girls aren't as enthused as you about customs. I think a lot of us here are giving their girls tons of customs now because we realize how quickly it all may fade away! Maybe they will change their minds. I hope so for your sake. I have heard others here comment that their kids will only wear customs in Disney. At least that is something right?

My DH works for GE and every year (yes, I'm bitter about this!) they have a convention in Chicago that starts for the vendors Saturday after Thanksgiving so every year he leaves in the middle of the weekend:sad1: . I know I should be thankful that he has a great job and is seen as a great salesman which is why he is always picked to go, but I really with they would rotate who has to go! So now I'm trying to get all of our decorations up before he leaves (at 5'4" I'm vertically challenged and he's 6'3") and clean and cook for Thursday.

Hey..my dh goes to chicago for a convention after Thanksgiving every year s well..I am pretty sure it is the same convention (RSNA??)..so I know how you feel. We got our tree up yesterday, since we didn't want to wait until he comes back. I have no idea why they would choose the weekend after Thanksgiving to start...we used to go with him but not this year since dd is in school, and we are also saving for our next trip to WDW.

On the up side, they did like the socks and pony tail doobers I made them...

First of all, I think everything you made is wonderful! I love the doggie outfit especially and the ponytail holder and socks are so cute. And that picture of Bob is priceless: yes, he does seem to like his bandana.

About your disappointment, I completely understand. My son has been less than enthused about my sewing and I think he wears some things just to not hurt my feelings. It's the rare moments when I have a hit (Pokemon pjs) where I get really happy. I would let the girls browse the photbucket account and Ebay to see if there something they fall in love with. I try to take my kids fabric shopping too because if they pick it out themselves they are more likely to love it and appreciate the work that goes into creating an outfit from a rectangle of fabric. They both also like to look at the pattern books too (look for "easy" I say!). I think decoupaged jeans is a great place to start.

Good luck. I hope you can find something they love, because you are doing a great job!

Sheesh.

Here is my teeny-stash of fabrics I WAS going to use for skirts...

I know it's not a big stash, but it's my stash and I wanted to use it.

Maggi

I'm sorry the girls didn't like the skirts. (I personally love them!) My DD once went on an "I hate EVERYTHING you buy me" jag right after I bought her clothes for the summer, adn I soooo wanted to cry. I can't imagine how hard it is when you have made the clothes.

I have no advice on the pants/capris decision, since I am not a capri person. I like your stash, though. it looks easy to manage.

ENJOY yourself!!
