Maybe you and I will be the last ones to learn how to use that darned contraption. Though I'm sure you'll figure it out before me. Good luck.

wow good luck to you and have a safe flight i hope you get to eat also

Thanks you!!! I hope so too. hehe

Noooooo, they are so cute! I can't give them up!

Good luck with shirring: can't wait to see what you make!
!

:lmao: About the shoes. You know now that I think about this I did the same thing with a pair of shoes when I was in High School. I think I finally gave up on them a few years later. Hahaha

Whever I try the shirring I will let ya know! Thanks!!

I am so excited!! Last night I stayed up 'til midnight optimizing my ruffler!! :woohoo: Before I found this thread, I never would have imagined that I'd type that sentence. :rotfl2: Anyway, if you haven't read the free "ruffler unruffled" PDF from youcanmakethis.com, you've got to read it! If you haven't downloaded it, you have to sign up for their mailing list and then you can download some free patterns and stuff. Anyway, I used the calculations in the tutorial and my ruffle turned out the perfect length for the skirt I was making. It was like MAGIC!!! :wizard:

Ohh I so have to read that. I can get my ruffler to work sometimes and then other times I can't figure out what is wrong. I definitely need help on how to get the perfect length for the ruffle too...I have just been cutting off the extra ruffles or having to make more...such a pain! Thanks for the tip!!

A few answers about the petti pic with Santa that I posted yesterday.
Here is the petti with her standing. This was back in September - it was part of her costum for the MNSSHP.

LVTX_11-17-2007_0137_1.jpg

I didn't make this petti - I purchased this one. I've got the fabric to make one, and I've just not gotten around to it yet. Need to get on it.

Someone commented (Heather of Teresa?) that they thought it was the first time they had seen a pic of my son. That's probably true. He commented to me once "mom, you do this sewing thing really good! I wouldn't mindif you sewed for me like you do for AbbyGrace, but I don't want ABC overalls!" So, there you have it! I don't sew much for him, and for that reason don't post many pics of him. He is in my avatar pic (as if you could actually SEE that!)

About the I Spy bags - that is a genius idea! I think I need to make a couple of these for my kids. And maybe soon. It looks like we'll be taking a road trip for a family funeral in the next couple of days. They may come in handy.

here is a random pic... it is from the count's Count Down To Halloween at Seaworld. I was just going through vacay pics and this one is just REALLY good. I think I'll have an 8x10 printed and frame it for Liliana for Christmas
Thought you guys might appreciate it.

Hey All!

FINALLY got caught up! Everything looks amazing! I'm sorry I don't have more time to individually recognize all fo the awesome creations.

I have to warn you guys, if you have extremely rough kids, to be careful about double or triple encasing the insides fo the i-spy pillows. I had made a few I-Spy pillows for my kids, and DD who was 2 at the time, TORE HERS OPEN on a plane flight from NY to AZ. I'm shocked we didn't get banned from flying air tran ever again, the stuff went EVERYWHERE. (I used the plastic beads you can use for beanbags...they're these little cylinders! They rolled everywhere, it was a health hazard for the poor stewardesses even after they helped us sweep them up.)

So, Since people asked for pics of the wrap pants pattern I posted, I finally dug them out (they were packed away with the summer stuff). DH took the pic, adn I know I look lousy....whaddayawant? It's Laundry and football sunday. Even the kids are getting a pyjama day.

ETA: These are a pair of bathing suit cover-up pants. I do not dress like that on a daily basis.!! Though, I did remember how comfy they are when I put them on, and I think I might make myself a pair in fleece for bumming around the house in.

In other news, has anyone ever had their gall-bladder out? Mine has to come out early next month (scheduling it the tuesday after Thanksgiving), and I'm a little concerned, since I am a stay-at-home mom. They kiddos are in school (pre-k and K), but put them on and I get them off the bus and take care of them until daddy gets home every night. My mother has offered to come out and help me for a few days, but she's a cleaning nazi (and I'm...well...cluttered), and having her here is extremely stressful, adn would require my spending the next 3-4 weeks leading to the surgery Frantically deep cleaning the entire house. I would prefer to avoid this, since they say this is a one-day surgery, but will I need help? Thanks in advance.
oh how comfy !!! i had my gallbladder out about 8 yrs ago:goodvibes and do not listen to me! i had a horrible recovery from a same day surgery:scared1: plus i also was nursing a 4 month old , i would just let people help you, i could not walk, breathe:confused: but i found out that my stitches were attached to a small part of my skin, so everytime i moved oucccchhhhh:scared1:

I just love the petti, it really makes the costume! I would love to try making one of these, especially considering how much I spent on the one I got for my dd. Lemme see if I can find a pic...

ps - woohoo I can post links now :woohoo:

Alix, she is an absolute doll!!! Watch now as the petti envy rolls in!!!

To bad we can't choose our familes, our kids could have a "Aunt Heather, Aunt Teresa Joyce (I remembered :lmao: ) and Aunt Lisa and cousin JORD!"

Cindee

Well, since my sister is well... my sister...and B is an only child I am officially adopting Theresa and Heather for aunts to my children. I hadn't thought of this before, but it makes so much sense!! why didn't I think of that?

Hey,

Thanks everyone for the well wishes. I HATE having people come and take over my house. I had two rough c-sections, and only allowed anyone to come over and help after the second one. And then I only agreed to allow my psychotic Mother-in-law over to help when I still couldn't go up and down the stair without help after a week. Neither MIL or my mother can STAND the state of my house, as they are OCD cleaners, and I am a borderline OCD hoarder. The last time my mother came to visit, she announced to me in front of DH that if I didn't shape up, he was going to rightfully file for divorce. She came once for a weekend to watch the kids for my 5-year anniversary, and I couldn't find anything for a MONTH after I came home, because she had deep-cleaned and moved everything to more "logical" places. Dh likes to joke that I have to mother-in-laws, lol.

Dh took the control out of my hands, though, and has asked her to come stay for a few days after we get it scheduled. She'll have to come the day before so I can introduce her to the bus monitor, walk her through the kids' schedules, etc. I figure the surgery will probably be the second week of December (Surgeon said this is a "slow" time of year, and he can fit me in so I can eat for Christmas.)

I figure if I start cleaning NOW, I'll just get a lot of deep sighs, mumbling, and "I don't know HOW you live like this"'s with out her overly freaking out.

Now, I have 2 days to finish my projects before the cleaning commences!

Thanks again!

Yea. I have two of them and have yet to try it...it is scarey looking...and the directions are wacky!

Look what I just made :)

It was really easy and fun to make...now I have to add the tag so the girls know what to look for.

Alix

ps - check out the small photo tile on the bottom left, yep I made that...not that this is a shameless post for ohhs and ahhs or anything, lol

I think I am going to have to start keeping an eye spy eye out for items to put into mine. I think they'll be great gifts for the kids this christmas.
Great job Alex, I think small pictures are a great addition!

Just wanted to say THANK YOU for all of your kind comments on my daughter and her outfit! I really like the way this one turned out! Great job everyone on the eye spy bags, I HAVE to make one of these soon! But not now because WE LEAVE FOR DISNEY IN 6 DAYS!   WOOOOHOOOO, WE LEAVE SATURDAY!   So I don't know how much I will be on this week, because of the packing and with Thanksgiving and everything, but I will try to check in a couple times at least! I will post all my pics when I get back, so you girls have fun and I will talk with you when I get back!

I made two more out of some scrap fleece, ok it was an old hoodie that dd2 outgrew, but still scrap!! I was going to make some of those photo tiles too, did you use shrinky dink printer paper? I have instructions for using that to make a charm bracelet out of photos and thought that would be cool for these Ispy bags.

I'm sure I remember someone saying that they needed to make NEW eye spy pillows, I assume cause their kids found everything and are bored w/ them or could use a change of scenery...maybe someone can send one to Mindy for her kids car trip to WDW????

I'd make her one but she has me enslaved already.;)

...t.
