Here are a few outfits I've done for my dd. I have one more that I've done but no picture and I'm smocking another dress for her that has Ariel and the other Mermaid characters.

Sorry for the bug eyed look! She was wired last night and didn't want to calm down!

Wow, those are great!

This is the dress that Drew wore in her pictures that my nephew took. I am not sure how I feel about it. I loved the fabric when I bought it , but after I put it together I thought it might look a little "jammyish". I don't know.

The green in the background is the sweater Riley wore. The colors looked pretty together anyway. I am anxious to see the pictures to see if I like the dress in them or not. I really wanted something kinda classic and old fashioned but I'm not sure if this worked for that.

I LOVE the fabric! Do you remember what it is called?

I love the applique. Is it a pattern, or did you make it up? I'd like to do that for Kirsta before she's too old to want fun stuff like that. I can remember my Mom smocking dresses for my sister. I don't think I'd have the patience. I'd love to make hair bows, but I just don't have the patience for that.

I bought the design off of Ebay. I can't remember right off which store. I think it was called Paige on Vacation or something like that. She even had a family one and some others.

I would love to get to DW with just dh, but we'll have to see if that will ever happen.

I would love to go to dw with hubby we never had a honeymoon. :sad2: We got married 3 days after I turned 21 so next month will be 7 years on the 18. I can't believe I am going to be 28 on the 15.:scared1: I feel so old.
I know what you mean about feeling old- I was just training a new employee yesterday and she is 19. I'm 27. And generally I don't feel old or even think that I'm old. But just talking with her it reminded me of how long ago it was that I was 19, It seems like forever ago!!! I got married 4 days after turning 19. So I have been married for 8 years already- Where does the time go.......
Well back to the sewing machine for me- 15 days til we leave :scared1:
Ok, you guys! Stop it! You're just babies! ;) You are making us still very very young 38+ year olds feel old!

I agree... DOWN WITH REAL LIFE, though I've found wearing my wedding Tiara while I'm cleaning the house really does help!!! One day I had my "Domestic Princess" Tiara on b/c I had to be super wife and clean up and make dinner before a musician friend of his arrived for dinner and a mini jam session. As he pulled in and I heard DS yell "MOM GEOFF'S HERE!!!" I looked at B and was like UGH! You weren't going to tell me I was still wearing "THE" tiara!! He was like, ah, it's only Geoff, leave it on-it's cute. Geoff did ask why I had a tiara on and I told him b/c I'm a princess he just nodded and said "well, yeah".
Aww, that's so sweet! I didn't have a tiara at my wedding, but we have pleanty of Arminda and Lydia's laying around the house. I should use one of those.

TeresaJoyce: Jacob. The most popular boy's name in 1999 (we didn't know!).

I'm thinking we need to see some wedding pictures around here. T. and Steph, care to share yours?

Jacob! Thanks for reminding me!

I really like this dress. The fabrics are great! Are you going to share the pictures with us when you get them back?

HELP: DH is playing at an ice cream shop on sunday and they've asked him to do more covers than he did last time....He hates covers well, he doesn't like to do that many, he's a songwriter he wants to play his own stuff. I have offered to do some songs for him to help out. Plus there are a couple of other places he does covers and they are long sets so he usually has a friend play too, if I go then he doesn't have to rely on someone else to come out to play. SOOOOOO.... I need a set list. We don't go out to see coverbands very often because we like to support original artists when we're out. What songs would you like to hear if you were out w/ friends??? They don't have to be limited to female artists. here are some of the songs we've been working on.
I Don't Know Why- Norah Jones
I'm Gonna Be Strong-Gene Pitney (later covered by Cyndi Lauper)
Building a Mystery- Sarah McLaughlin
Bizarre Love Triangle-as covered by Frente
Son of a Preacher Man- Dusty Springfield
Me and Bobby McGee- Janice Joplin
Not an Addict- K's Choice
Angie-Rolling Stones
You Were Meant For Me- Jewell (this song was retired but we might play it..)

any suggestion?? Thanks guys!!!

No suggestions, but YOU SING??? Now, why didn't I know that???? :confused3 Man, you think you know someone!
Hi all. Have'nt been posting much lately because I've been busy getting ready for a trip to NOLA next week and trying to get all the comstume stuff together for hubby and I for the LeStat Vampire ball there (I'm still trying to find a pair of victorian looking shoes) But I thought I would post aa few pics of Kiley's BTS outfit. It got here a little late for BTS ( I was going to save it and let her wear it during American Eudcation week)but when we had our first cool day her in Maryland I let her wear it. Sorry about how the pics look my camera is kinda sucky (for lack of a better word) and I should have used hubby's. His is much nicer, but oh well whattaya gonna do ? :) .

100_1209.jpg

First, what's NOLA?

Second, that is CUTE!!!! What a great outfit! Your daughter is just adorable!
Remember talking about making an outfit for each attraction... well a TROLL outfit would be perfect for Maelstrom!!! :rotfl:

I vote for some Def Leppard songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rockband: Everybody loves some sugar!!!
I'm laughing about the TROLL outfit for Maelstrom! :rotfl2:
And, how did I know you were going to suggest a Def Leppard song??:rotfl:

Oh, wow! These are just beautiful! You are very talented!
Hey, I just noticed you asked me a question in your siggy! Yes, that is MUCH better! Thank you!;)

Of course, I had to go see what you are talking about! YEAH The Incredibles are back!!!! WOO HOO!

Thanks for the nice words everybody!

I'll have to get the name of the fabric the next time I go into my quilt shop. It's a little shop in my little town and the ladies there are soooooooo nice!

I used McCalls 3882 for the dress. I added 2 inches to the bodice because I was adding the sash and I cut the skirt longer than the pattern had it. I used the long sleeve version and made them stop right below the elbow. Instead of the round ruffles they used in the patter I just gathered straight strips so it would be easier. I bought the pattern years ago when my 10 year old was a toddler so I'm not sure that the pattern is still available, but it's pretty basic so I bet it is.

I'll probably have her wear it to Thanksgiving and she'll probably wear it for about 10 minutes before she begs to put on comfy clothes. I will show it on her when I get some of the pictures that she wore it in. I really hope that it looks o.k. in the pictures.

Did anyone here apply for the Moms Panel? Did you hear today? I am especially interested to hear if UtahMama was accepted into the next round; she would be a riot.:rotfl:

I saw someplace else that some people have gotten emails turning them down. I haven't gotten anything yet and I think there are still a bunch of other people who haven't either. I haven't heard of anyone getting anything saying they are moving onto the next round yet. That would be soooooo awesome though!!!

Really cute outfits posted today! Casey I love the black and white checkered one!!!

Just a little update on the posting here on the thread....Well here are the people who post 90 or more times. Heather you have to add your two up!;) I just love you guys!!!

Okay Susan, I finally got some photos. This is how I manage to keep bows (even large ones) in fine baby hair. I forgot to take a photo of the Walmart elastics though :guilty:

These are the best clips I've found for staying put. I found them at a local craft store in the bead department. Really anything that hooks back into itself will work well (that sounds weird) but even alligator clips stay in okay.

DSCN2617.jpg

This is how I do her hair to hold one bow when I'm not doing 2 pony tails:

th_DSCN2610.jpg

And here is how I fasten the clip in front of the elastic to keep it from coming out:

And here is the back of a bow for no good reason at all:

STEPH... That top is SO GREAT!!!  I bet Megan is just THRILLED. I don't know how to make a thread chain either, I can't say I've ever been asked to.

Does anyone have pics of lightly decoupaged jeans. I am UBER picky and I just don't like the way they stop at the top of the leg...to me it looks like they didn't get finished. Has anyone decoupaged jeans w/ out doing the ENTIRE leg?

I dont' know if it is a cover or not, but this is the only secular song I know of right now and I kinda like it.

Big girls don't cry...... Fergie
