Oh we "snuck" over to our neighbors pool, one full moon several summers ago and they came home early!!! One of the best/funniest times of our lives!!! Two "chubby" naked heinies running across a yard. If we were seen, people would never have recovered from laughing!!

Ohhhh! When I read this the first time I thought, how would we know how big the waist is on her baby? Why doesn't she measure her baby's waist? And why does it matter is the baby is bitty? What a kook!

Then...I read the response and I see that it's a kind of doll! Sorry!

Hahahahahaha-HA! those are fabulous! Perfect for my sewing room I dream about. The one with a computer in it to stay linked to my sewing Girlfriends alllllll day long! I call it the "Mama Cave" It even has a fridge (in my mind, that is!)

I am almost finished with my other daughter's dress. I am attempting a twirl dress, and it is my first attempt at a circle skirt. It was kind of a bear to hem. I don't know if I cut the fabric wrong, but it was hard to get it to lay right. Any tips?

If you have a serger, I find it easier to first serge the raw edge, turn it up the width of the serged stitching while pressing in place and then roll again as I stitch the hem. If you don't have a serger, one way I remember to do a hem is to stitch 1/4" from the edge, use that stitch line as the place to turn up the edge and press "easing" in the extra fullness. Turn it up one more time before stitching. It might be easier to press before stitching the second time but I usually don't since the first fold helps keep the hem even.

BTW - I don't have a narrow hem foot but really want to get one. I just haven't found one yet.

Zoe is the same way with pink. She has some clothes that are fine for playing outside but not for school. I feel bad making her change her clothes since she's doing so well about waking and dressing by herself since school started but there are some things I just can't get past - like the tshirt with a stain that is perfectly fine for making mudpies and jumping in puddles but not for school. LOL

BTW My sister said when her oldest was in grade school, she was tempted to send a note with him some mornings when he'd put together a particularly clashing outfit. She did mention that to the teacher and she replied that most teachers can figure out which kids dressed themselves.

Oh yes, Megan is like that with any color. One time I sheepishly told her preschool teacher that she dressed herself and she said she could tell and what a great job she did! From then, I tried not to worry about what she looks like and just be proud she did it herself.

OH, poor little Megan. Give her an extra hug from her internet friends!

Your son IS stinkin cute!!! I love that he asked if he should twirl!!! I would have liked to see that picture! It's nice to see some boys outfits on here lately!

LOL I almost went over there but it was 6:40 before I made it into town. Did you see the 40% off coupon for Hobby Lobby? I used it for my tulle. I have not tried a rotary cutter but I thought that would make it more difficult ... it is easier?



Ya it is a LOT of tulle! She actually put my black back on another board for me, did not get that lucky with the pink and the white. I do agree tulle has a mind of it's own ... I seriously had no idea how uncontrolable it was.

DD loves Donald Duck. I am not entirely sure why but she does. When at WDW last month she wanted a Donald Duck plush and wanted nothing to do with Mickey or Minnie. Strange child. Anyway, on my list of projects is a Donald inspired twirl top with blue, yellow and white fabric, a little ricky racky and maybe a Donald appliqué. I may CASE/CAB some of your ideas.

You might give the rotary cutter a try. I just fold it very carefully and hold really tight with my ruler. It works well for me.

I LOVE my rotary cutter. Just be very careful, that thing is sharp.

I have a question for those of you that sew for others. How do you decide what to charge for your items? It seems that there is a pretty broad spectrum of pricing going on. I don't want to lose money (obviously), and I don't want to price my stuff out of range either. Is there a general formula that you use to determine what is a reasonable price? If you don't feel comfortable posting the answer here, would you please PM me? Thanks!

On another board I belong to, it seems that people who are starting out add up the cost of their materials and then either double or triple that for their cost. I think you need to keep in mind how much actual work goes into it. Meaning if it's a pillowcase dress, or a t shirt dress, the amount of work and time is not the same as an applique. I also would price things according to how much YOU would pay for them. Then once you get a good reputation....it may go gangbusters on Voldemort!!!!

I DON'T remember that outfit...but it is SOOO cute!! I haven't been a big fan of that style of overall, but I LOVE this You did a GREAT job!

Thanks for your response! I don't think that my stuff will ever be the kind of stuff that makes hundreds on , and I'm not necessarily wanting to make a living of off this. I have had a few ask about some things I've made, and I just didn't have a clue of where to even start! Thanks! This should help!

Never actually been on the beach that I can remember. Although, once when I was little I remember we camped out at Cedar Point.

(Ok, I am going to tell you something, but don't tell anyone. Disaster Transport sort of scares me. It's REALLY DARK! SHHHH)

Im about 45 minutes from Cedar Point. We used to get season passes in high school and go there every weekend. Gotta say the right side of the Jemini is the better. We always win! And the only thing good about the Disaster Transport is the Air conditioning you get to wait in. The beach was the first time I ever Parisailed. So fun! And love the rip cord. Thats the closest thing I've done to bungee coarding.

Well I do have to say that i am looking forward to sunday for my birthday girls day out. California Adventure has margaritas. Last years trip was a blast. We called them Mickey Mouse Margeritas. This was the 3 of us by the end of the night . This year we are going a little early my but hey disney with my sister and best friend and no hubby and kids. I say woohoo bring on the yellow cups.
