Oh we "snuck" :tiptoe: over to our neighbors pool, one full moon several summers ago and they came home early!!! One of the best/funniest times of our lives!!! Two "chubby" naked heinies running across a yard. If we were seen, people would never have recovered from laughing!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
:rotfl2: That is awesome.

I AM AN OFFICIAL MOUSKETEER!!!   100 POST! WOOOHOOOO!:woohoo: I just had to celebrate!:dance3: :dance3:
Meeska Mooska Mickey Mouse :thumbsup2

Ohhhh! When I read this the first time I thought, how would we know how big the waist is on her baby? Why doesn't she measure her baby's waist? And why does it matter is the baby is bitty? What a kook!

Then...I read the response and I see that it's a kind of doll! Sorry!
Oh ha ha I was wondering the same thing. How would you get a little baby to twirl. :rotfl:

Secondly, Megan is having a hard time with the matching stuff too. She thinks anything with blue in it matches, no matter what shade of blue. Teal, navy, baby blue, they all match! Sometimes when she goes off to school I think, I hope the teacher knows I didn't dress her!

First of all I was laughing so hard when I read this my husband asked me what was sooo funny!:rotfl: :lmao: I can just imagine what you were thinking!:rotfl: And my dd4 is the same way if its pink it matches no matter what shade it is. I thought about just making a name tag that says" I dressed myself today" and pinning to her!:)

How cute...nice to see little Nicholas there! I may have to Frankenpattern that!

Cute! You did a great job. I love scotties...is the top a dress?

I love bows..Makayla's hair is so fine that nothing holds in it yet...maybe it won't change either....darn...I would love to try some, but then what would I do with them??? She won't even wear a little tiny crown!

Josephines hair is fine also but the bows still fit good. Just use different clasps!

The top can be a dress, but with fall coming we will use the pants

nicholas loved wearing his cowboy outfit all day!

m
She was 24. Her exboyfriend (extremely abusive- steroid induced no necked...) hid in her trunk the morning she was on her way to an injunction hearing against him and once she was on the way he crawled through the backseat (her care could access the trunk that way) and forced her into the passenger side- which had a busted door handle (he broke!) and the window mechanics only worked from the driver side so she was basically trapped.
Her advocate called from the courthouse wanting to know where she was (way after the trial should have been done w/) and said she never showed up. We said "he's got to have her, call the cops!!!" but the cops thought we were over reacting. They said that lots of abused girls change their minds and don't show for the hearing and she was just hiding out b/c she was too embarrassed to tell us. We knew better. He had held her against her will (oddly enough on the way home from MNSSHP that year) in a hotel room for 2 days and beat her from head to toe- with their 2 yo son in the room. He told her several times he was taking her home only to turn around and go the other way again. He kept turning her cell phone off but she would find a way to turn it back on again until finally he let her take a call from a girlfriend. She convinced him that by not answering her phone her friend would think something was up. Her girlfriend stayed on the phone w/ me and I was on the cell phone w/ my mom who was on her cell phone w/ the cops. We had 4 trucks on the road plus the cops trying to find them eventually they were able to triangulate her cell service. Her friend was amazing, especially for a 24 yo. She just asked Rae yes or no questions so Rob wouldn't think she was telling her anything. Like "are you still in hernando county?" "are you in your car or Rob's car" stuff that would help us get good info to the cops. Finally they were able to triangulate her cell phone and LUCKILY her car broke down and they were able to catch him. He is still in jail. But got far less time than he deserved!!!
When you say your sister was kidnapped people are shocked, then you say she was 24 and they are unimpressed, like oh, she wasn't "really" kidnapped. But she was REALLY kidnapped. it wasn't like she went to meet him somewhere and was just being held against her will. And yes it was scary!!!

TJ:
I love the fabrics! I like T.s idea about the blue.

I know, I have the best ideas!!

Oh my gosh T! I was just in tears reading this. How horrible! Am I reading this right that she was kidnapped by this nut twice? I can only imagine what you guys must have been going through. Something bad happening to your sister is one of the scarriest most horrible things in the world to go through. :grouphug:
I didn't mean to imply that if your sister was older, it didn't matter. I hope it didn't come across that way.

And, yes, you DO have the best ideas!

Thanks teresajoy for liking my bows!!!:cutie:

They are beautiful! I still have to try making bows.

I will join in the commiseration!! We've been planning our trip but being laid off at the beginning of the year put us in bad shape. SO not being able to take our annual vacation (we're still going just only to MNSSHP, instead of all of the parks) bites. Especially b/c Lily is 2 and just LOVES mickey and pluto and even though she's never seen cinderella, there is a preview for it on her lionking video (read VHS-it was mine, it works fine still and I'm too cheap to buy the dvd until it breaks) and goes around singing cinderelli cinderelli- though she doesn't know anymore words.
AND the poor thing hasn't been allowed to get a haircut for 2 years so she could get her first haircut at WDW!!! CRAP, how am I gonna work that out..

SO, totally feelin' ya!! I hope you are able to plan something for next year!

...t.
I heard somewhere that you can get an hour or maybe two hour shopping pass to get into the parks (without paying if you return in that time) You could check to see if they would let you in for the haircut.

I heard that this is true at several sites for DisneyLand, but I think I've only seen it on one site for Disney World, so, I'm not sure if this is accurate information I'm giving you!

And if it weren't for my neighbor's pool, we wouldn't have Tessa.:rolleyes1
Perhaps that was too much information...
Weird how they NEVER invited you back to swim in their pool, isn't it! :confused3

Brian and I have always been fond of Cedar Point! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: We think that's why Corey likes rollercoasters so much!

I sewed Makayla's straight across and even cut the buttons off. DGS just slides right on into his overalls without opening the buttons...guess it depends on how much chub the baby has....
Did you make these overalls Susan?

I was looking around dreaming about fabric and I came across this: Can you believe Michael Miller actually designed a line of fabric JUST FOR US? It crackied me up so I had to post. It is actually called "that's sew wrong" :rotfl2:

th_thatssewwrong.jpg

This one is called quilt pirates

th_scissorpirates.jpg
Oh my, these are too funny!

Hahahahahaha-HA! those are fabulous! Perfect for my sewing room I dream about. The one with a computer in it to stay linked to my sewing Girlfriends alllllll day long! I call it the "Mama Cave" :rotfl2: It even has a fridge (in my mind, that is!)
OOOH, a fridge. I wonder what you would possibly have in your fridge!
Well, my little peanut came off the school bus feeling poorly so I haven't got much accomplished this afternoon. I was able to finish this while she was napping:

Because they are so both stinkin' cute:

th_100_1883.jpg

He asked if he should twirl, hee! Have I got them trained or what?

HeatherSue: I am going to start on that top tonight. Wish me luck!

OH, poor little Megan. Give her an extra hug from her internet friends! :grouphug:

Your son IS stinkin cute!!! I love that he asked if he should twirl!!! I would have liked to see that picture! It's nice to see some boys outfits on here lately!

Oh we "snuck" :tiptoe: over to our neighbors pool, one full moon several summers ago and they came home early!!! One of the best/funniest times of our lives!!! Oh no! That is so funny, I can barely breath! Good thing you and Heather didn't have the same neighbor!!!

I AM AN OFFICIAL MOUSKETEER!!!   100 POST! WOOOHOOOO!:woohoo: I just had to celebrate!:dance3: :dance3:
YEAH YEAH WOO HOO!!!
I can answer that one! Bitty's waist is almost 12 inches. Both my girls have Bitty Babies. Our playroom is overcrowded so all the Bitty stuff sits right beside the computer and the computer sits right beside the sewing stuff! So everything I needed (Bitty, Computer, Tape Measure) was right here! I know - all you needed was the measurement, not an entire paragraph full of nonsense!
We LOVE unnecesary nonsense around here!

Ohhhh! When I read this the first time I thought, how would we know how big the waist is on her baby? Why doesn't she measure her baby's waist? And why does it matter is the baby is bitty? What a kook!

Very funny!

I'm finally getting around to my trip report of Sept. 23-30. I came home, worked one day and got sick. I missed another week of work. So I am finally getting around to working on my pictures.

We had a really magical trip. Never saw the Dream Team. I was hoping to win a set of ears a pin lanyard. But we had our own magic.

When we arrived in Orlando, the pilot invited the kids on the plane to sit with him in the cockpit and to take pictures. Kirsta is wearing her Hannah Montana outfit I bought for her and her "hair". This was an unplanned outfit, so unfortunately, she didn't get to wear all the things I made for her.

Ignore the goofy face in the first picture. We always have dinner with Cinderella and Prince Charming our first night. But this year, we ate in the castle. As we walked down Main Street, you could hear everyone rave about her dress. Kirsta's head would go a little higher each time she heard it. We had people walk across the street to come tell her how beautiful her dress was. She later told me she was "royalty" becuase everyone was calling her Princess. lol! I thought the dress came out nice, but I didn't expect the amount of comments we heard.

This is at MGM. All she wanted was to show Pluto her skirt. But every time we go to the character greeting, the lines were stopped. I didn't think they had that many characters out as they had in the past. Even in all the parks. I was disappointed as getting autographs is a big deal to Kirsta.

I never got around to showing everyone this skirt. I'm not that fond of it. I planned on a sash at the hip, but could never find a ribbon to match. I think it's the denim I don't like. I made shorts to go underneath so it's a skort.

Here we are at the BBB.

The first is the only picture I have of our dear sweet "Betty" in her Nanny costume I made for her Disney trip. Kirsta wanted to see Mary Poppins to show her Betty. On our way out of the BBB, we saw MP heading to the carasel. Kirsta grabbed Betty and ran after her. MP invited Kirsta to get on the ride with her, they rode it twice and chatted the whole time together. MP signed her autograph book when they got off and then took all the kids waiting for her over to her "spot" by the castle. It was truly magical.

This was very last minute. Mom-mom had to help me get it finished. I wasn't going to make it, but Kirsta wanted to know where it was. I planned on doing a twirl skirt, but couldn't find a matching sheer. I ended up liking the shorts much better. But we discovered that when it rains, the knit stretches. So I'll have to rethink the next one. She has a matching headband and scrunchy, but of course, how could you wear it with the special hairdo.

Here is our Minnie outfit. We went to the Backyard BBQ. Several people stopped us on the way there to say it was the best Minnie outfit they had seen. I really think it got her picked to help in the lasso show. She was picked to help with the demostration. Cyclone Sally kept saying she thought it was Minnie Mouse and didn't know why she wasn't on her break. And the other guy (I forgot his name) said he did to, until he saw her shoes. I had planned on getting yellow Crocs, but ran out of time looking for them.

Great twirl skirt!! We are at the Halloween party. I had several CMs walk across the street to tell me this was the most orgional costume they had seen in years. I has several guests stop to ask where I got becuase thier daughter wanted one. This was a big hit!! BTW, I was the fairy Godmother.

I made her a princess skort and a tshirt from the creative list about Princess get the sillies. Snow White had her do a silly face with her, and there is one of Belle also. But it's on photopass. I'll have to order that one. Mulan kissed her check and we had to go to the bathroom a hundred times so we could look at the lipstick print.

Our last day. Kirsta was picked to be the Chef of the Day at the ASMusic resort. They made a big announcement and she got to make her ice cream sundae. Got a big certificate and balloon. She really loved it.

We got a lot of attention on the trip and it helped to make the trip really magical. I really think it was because of all her wonderful outfits I made her thanks to everyone here and their ideas. I might not have done as much as I did if not for everyone on the board. Thank you for your help and ideas.

Sally, these pictures are great! You really outdid yourself on all those outfits! I love the Jasmine one! That is such a neat idea! I also adore the Cinderella one. Your daughter is so cute!

Thanks for sharing these. I just love seeing pictures of the outfits in the parks!

CEDAR POINT? YUCKY!!!!!!!! TeresaJoy eeew!

Can you tell I don't like CP? WDW spoiled me for CP. My dad used to drag me (Kicking and screaming) EVERY July. Now he wants to take my DD (he knows better than to ask me :rolleyes1 ) But I can say I have ridden the Magnum :dance3:

Hmmm.... I MAY have to rethink my opinion of you. I LOVE Cedar Point.

Maybe I should have mentioned though, that we stayed in a HOTEL near Cedar Point. GEESH Cindee, what did you think I meant! ;) :lmao:

I was wondering what you meant, too!

I also love Cedar Point, although it's no Walt Disney World. Speaking of amusement parks, we went to Idlewild on Sunday and my girls received so many compliments on their Halloween twirl skirts and tops. Two people even asked me if we bought them at WDW. One asked if we went to "that Halloween party at Disney. What's it called? Hallow-something?" She was obviously no Diser, not knowing Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party!

I thought the same thing about YOU when you said you liked CP ;)
The one thing I like at CP is Disaster Transport, the rest of it eeeh.
We stayed at the hotel on the island with the un airconditioned lobby ( yeah THAT was a good idea:confused3 ) because I refused to sit on that causeway for hours after the park closed. My cousin once spent 3 HOURS stuck on that causeway due to an accident trying to get back to her hotel. I don't complain about leaving MK at closing anymore LOL

And I wasn't THINKING anything ºoº

So are we still friends? :grouphug:

Cindee

I have never seen a thread go so fast! I had to spend a half hour catching up from this afternoon! :rotfl:

I am almost finished with my other daughter's dress. I am attempting a twirl dress, and it is my first attempt at a circle skirt. It was kind of a bear to hem. I don't know if I cut the fabric wrong, but it was hard to get it to lay right. Any tips?

OH NO! Why did you have to go and say you like Disaster Transport?????

But, as I gaze upon the Bambi material that you so thoughtfully sent me, that I'm still afraid to cut, I know we can still be friends!

(But seriously, Disaster Transport?) :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Hey, when were you there? I was there this afternoon! AND Sharman's! (LOVE that place! Yummy fabric!)

Are you using a rotary cutter on the tulle? It makes things a lot easier! Still a lot of cutting, but makes things go much faster.

LOL I almost went over there but it was 6:40 before I made it into town. Did you see the 40% off coupon for Hobby Lobby? I used it for my tulle. :thumbsup2 I have not tried a rotary cutter but I thought that would make it more difficult ... it is easier?

Oh my, I think I'd have felt the same in her place! LOL I hate working with tulle because it's like it has a mind of its own.

Ya it is a LOT of tulle! She actually put my black back on another board for me, did not get that lucky with the pink and the white. I do agree tulle has a mind of it's own ... I seriously had no idea how uncontrolable it was.

Get a rolled hem foot. It makes hemming those skirts MUCH easier! Round hems are really hard to, well.....hem! But the rolled hem foot makes it a lot faster.

hey you started it-you said you liked Cedar Point :rotfl: And yep I like Disaster transport. I also like the beach behind it. And I LOVE the Blue Streak!

Which side of Gemini do YOU ride? LOL

Besides you KNOW those of us from Michigan-we like what we like!

Ok I started to multiquote but it was getting a little ridiculous (sp?). So is Cedar point the park they used at the beginning of that show step by step?? I have been to michigan but not sure where cedar point is. Is it down by the six flags more towards chicago? Just wondering no real reason, just silly nonsense.
t- That is terrible about your sister- So Scary!!!

My grams & MIL tried to show me how to knit- Just haven't quite gotten it yet. Anyway where will I find the time- especially when I leave the DIS to go to work and like 6 pages go by- Wow I think we chat alot- Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Thanks for the replies about the hernias. I'm relieved to know we're not alone. I don't know anyone how has had this happen, But I knew you would all come through with some great encouragement, and experience. Thanks again!! :grouphug:

I just realized I must be channeling old tv shows today- weird. Alright I better get started cutting my Belle costume fabric.

Oh, I love the Blue Streak. There, we can agree on that!
Never actually been on the beach that I can remember. Although, once when I was little I remember we camped out at Cedar Point.
Hmm....the right side.

Yep, Michiganders are like that!

(Ok, I am going to tell you something, but don't tell anyone. Disaster Transport sort of scares me. It's REALLY DARK! SHHHH)

Cedar Point is in Sandusky, Ohio. I don't think it's the one on Step by Step, although, I remember thinking I'd been to that park when I use to watch it.

And, here's a link to Cindee's favorite ride, even though it scares me http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/rides/coasters/disaster_transport/index.cfm
