Someone in the last couple of weeks (I don't remember who, sorry) posted pics of Christmas fabric they had bought including one that was red with white snowflakes. I've been looking for fabric like that & can't find it anywhere, would you mind telling where you got it? Thanks
And, HeatherSue and TeresaJoyce (see, I am paying attention), I came across this quote while looking for some scrapbooking inspiration and immediately thought of you two. . . "The Lord made us sisters because He knew we would love each other too much to just be friends."
finally finished my scottie dogs!!! Isn't she cute!!!! Just have to wait for it to get cold enough to wear it! I love this outfit. It came out better than I thought!

did you get the scotty dog material???? DHs name is Scott and his first stuffed animal was a scotty dog from Germany. I would love to make outfits for the kids with Scott dogs on them. LOVE the material.

I know it's a lot of photos. They don't ALL need to go into the DisBoutique PhotoBucket.![]()
When you make the two layer twirl skirt (i.e page 1098) is there a measurement for how much the fabric for each layer is gathered? I am wondering if you measure the waist and then make it 1 1/2 times or 2 times that size to gather ?
Has anyone made the three layer twirl skirt with the tulle in the middle or on the bottom layer. Any tips for making this one. I am especially wanting to know any tips on gathering the tulle or sewing the tulle and again, do you 1 1/2, double or triple the measurement? When you use the tulle do you just cut and leave a raw edge along the bottom? I've never sewed with it before. Thanks.
I cut into my Minnie Dot fabric once again and made twirl skirts for DD5 and DD4. DD5 has white trim and black rick rack. DD4 has yellow trim and yellow rick rack. It's hard to see, but there's a Minnie bow on each skirt over one area of the rick rack. I haven't made tops yet. I'm thinking long sleeved white tops with the ribbon and Mickey heads that other's have made. But any suggestions are welcome.
I was hoping the bows would be a little less floppy. They are only pinned on so I could remove them when washing. But I might sew them on and then sew the ends down as well so they look better.
They have on their nightgowns. Lovely, I know. And they just got out of the tub. But I'm not apologizing for their hair.![]()

It looks great! I love Tink!
I think that came out really nice! Here is the yellow jacket costume for my daughter's school musical. I tried to find the wings at Target but they were all gone. I think this should work and no other kid will get jabbed with wings.![]()

PPFFFFTTT!!! That's me spitting my water all over after reading your post!! I'm just wondering what he thought might be going on in there, and how he could help!I had a similar experience at Old Navy with the super low rise jeans. How low can they really be, right? When I pulled them up and they stopped mid-butt crack, I let out a fairly loud "laugh-yelp". The attendant, who was a teenage male actually knocked on my door and asked if I was all right.![]()

LUCKY!!!! I love meeting DISers, especially Boutique(e)rs! Cute how they're BFF after a few minutes!
Yay!!! So it's HEALTHY!!!! Like carrot cake!![]()
A small square of dark chocolate has a soothing effect on me. Like magic.
Funny(sad!) Muffin Top story: I recently accidentally took some ULTRA low rise jeans into a fitting room. WHY they make these in size 16, is beyond me! Anyway I did notice on the tag the SUPER low rise label but decided to try them on anyway. Now, I've had 4 c-sections and am a good 30-40 pounds overweight. I pulled them up up up...but they STOP abruptly WAYYYYYY too low. I managed to button and exhale. OMGosh! I cant SCRATCH that image out of my memory!!!!! IF I were to purchase these jeans, I would not be able to bend more than 15 degrees without showing a 4inch bum crack. NOT to mention the need for a uncomfortable WAX job down there.I think I laughed that silent-wheezing-teary-gut-laugh till I hurt. I did buy the mid rise, 1 inch below my belly button jeans like the good Lord intended, but often get a good laugh at the disaster of ultra low rise jeans on this carcass.

I'm finally getting around to my trip report of Sept. 23-30. I came home, worked one day and got sick. I missed another week of work. So I am finally getting around to working on my pictures.
We had a really magical trip. Never saw the Dream Team. I was hoping to win a set of ears a pin lanyard. But we had our own magic.

When we arrived in Orlando, the pilot invited the kids on the plane to sit with him in the cockpit and to take pictures. Kirsta is wearing her Hannah Montana outfit I bought for her and her "hair". This was an unplanned outfit, so unfortunately, she didn't get to wear all the things I made for her.

Ignore the goofy face in the first picture. We always have dinner with Cinderella and Prince Charming our first night. But this year, we ate in the castle. As we walked down Main Street, you could hear everyone rave about her dress. Kirsta's head would go a little higher each time she heard it. We had people walk across the street to come tell her how beautiful her dress was. She later told me she was "royalty" becuase everyone was calling her Princess. lol! I thought the dress came out nice, but I didn't expect the amount of comments we heard.

This is at MGM. All she wanted was to show Pluto her skirt. But every time we go to the character greeting, the lines were stopped. I didn't think they had that many characters out as they had in the past. Even in all the parks. I was disappointed as getting autographs is a big deal to Kirsta.

I never got around to showing everyone this skirt. I'm not that fond of it. I planned on a sash at the hip, but could never find a ribbon to match. I think it's the denim I don't like. I made shorts to go underneath so it's a skort.

Here we are at the BBB.

The first is the only picture I have of our dear sweet "Betty" in her Nanny costume I made for her Disney trip. Kirsta wanted to see Mary Poppins to show her Betty. On our way out of the BBB, we saw MP heading to the carasel. Kirsta grabbed Betty and ran after her. MP invited Kirsta to get on the ride with her, they rode it twice and chatted the whole time together. MP signed her autograph book when they got off and then took all the kids waiting for her over to her "spot" by the castle. It was truly magical.

This was very last minute. Mom-mom had to help me get it finished. I wasn't going to make it, but Kirsta wanted to know where it was. I planned on doing a twirl skirt, but couldn't find a matching sheer. I ended up liking the shorts much better. But we discovered that when it rains, the knit stretches. So I'll have to rethink the next one. She has a matching headband and scrunchy, but of course, how could you wear it with the special hairdo.

Here is our Minnie outfit. We went to the Backyard BBQ. Several people stopped us on the way there to say it was the best Minnie outfit they had seen. I really think it got her picked to help in the lasso show. She was picked to help with the demostration. Cyclone Sally kept saying she thought it was Minnie Mouse and didn't know why she wasn't on her break. And the other guy (I forgot his name) said he did to, until he saw her shoes. I had planned on getting yellow Crocs, but ran out of time looking for them.

Great twirl skirt!! We are at the Halloween party. I had several CMs walk across the street to tell me this was the most orgional costume they had seen in years. I has several guests stop to ask where I got becuase thier daughter wanted one. This was a big hit!! BTW, I was the fairy Godmother.

I made her a princess skort and a tshirt from the creative list about Princess get the sillies. Snow White had her do a silly face with her, and there is one of Belle also. But it's on photopass. I'll have to order that one. Mulan kissed her check and we had to go to the bathroom a hundred times so we could look at the lipstick print.

Our last day. Kirsta was picked to be the Chef of the Day at the ASMusic resort. They made a big announcement and she got to make her ice cream sundae. Got a big certificate and balloon. She really loved it.
We got a lot of attention on the trip and it helped to make the trip really magical. I really think it was because of all her wonderful outfits I made her thanks to everyone here and their ideas. I might not have done as much as I did if not for everyone on the board. Thank you for your help and ideas.

My daughter had her 15mo. check up today and I showed the Dr. a little bulge she has in her tummy a couple inches above her belly button- the Dr. said it is a Peri-something hernia and she will have to have it surgically corrected. Surgical- like they have to cut my baby open- what- wait a minute, that's the only way, it won't close on it's own. She says no but it is not an emaergency and I am given a referal to the pediatric surgeon. We won't see him until next friday. I say should we be concerned, we are leaving for disney in about 2 weeks. She says just make sure you see the surgeon before you go. I am hoping he says it will close on it's own, but not very optimistic that this will be the outcome. My poor little girl I just don't know how to prepare for this, no one I have talked to has even heard of this before so I thought I would bring it to you- Have you heard of this type of hernia?? Any advice, tips, experience will be welcomed. I have been so bummed all evening and I still have so much left to do before we leave(both at work and home), but this just took the wind out of my sails. And I'm going to worry for the next 10 days until we see the surgeon. I know it I might be over reacting a little, but they are talking about putting my baby to sleep and cutting her open to fix her and it is freaking me out. Thank you all for your time. I'll let you all know what happens.

Well, here is my 2cents....in those small sizes, the pants usually have snaps for diaper changes...makes it easy access...and that small size the side snaps aren't needed to get them in and out. I have various sizes of grands, and their overalls go on and off without bothering with the snaps on the sides. Those snaps keep them in the overalls more than anything..keep things nice and tight on the sides. I made several for Makayla in a size 18 months and she slips right in and out. Babies don't have hips to have to slide clothing over, so it should be fine....you are so nice to be doing this for these little ones...blessings,As usual, I've been lurking but I just had to say. . . you guys cracky me up!With all the comments on muffin tops, just because it's your size, using the mirror and keeping "the girls" up, I'm laughing out loud!

And I love that chocolate is in the vegetable food group! Now, I can finally get my 5-a-day!![]()
What really made me post today is that the minnie dot fabric, sent by the very generous HeatherSue, arrived today. Now, I need to get those overalls done. These are the ones I am making
![]()
Does anyone know who made these or who owns these? It looks like the skirt is sewn all the way around the overalls. Doesn't that make the side snaps useless? Is it hard to get the overalls on/off? Since I'm making these for someone else (my daughter is 18 yrs old-really missed the boat on making her custom disney overalls!), I don't want to make life more difficult for the mom, getting a 1 yr old and 2 yr old in and out of their outfits. So, if you have any ideas or advice, I'm reading almost everyday.
And, HeatherSue and TeresaJoyce (see, I am paying attention), I came across this quote while looking for some scrapbooking inspiration and immediately thought of you two. . . "The Lord made us sisters because He knew we would love each other too much to just be friends."
Also, I am so sorry for the loss of AKSunshine's son, and grateful Susan still has her daughter.
