COOL TeresaJoyce!

I bought some glow in the dark fabric paint I'm going to add to our witchie costumes.

Spooooooooky!

Twob4Him: LOVE those twirl skirts! Soooo cute! Very twirley!!!

We, as in Spongie and our combined children, want to go to a super cool Pumpkin Place in Gardener Villiage. We'll snap pictures and frolic...then go buy pumpkins at Walmart for $3.00 a piece :sad2:

My Target had white angel wings for $1 the other day in the dollar spot. Buy the cheap wings and cover them with the black tulle. I wouldn't even strip off the white - just cover right over it.

Thanks for the info on the wings at Target. I will have to go there again, for the FIFTH day in a row. I just always seem to forget something that we HAVE to have. Do you think I can get out with just spending the $1? ;)

I rolled $113 in change today. Yikes, did that SUCK!

Glow in the dark, how cool is that...Lydia will be turning the lights off all the time now

Notice how I have NOT mentioned the scissor accident.

Of course I do think a horseshoe print on Stephs butt (which frankly wasn't even a very good target-It must have been a very accurate horse) is Fetchin' Hilarious!!:rotfl: :rotfl:

...t.

I have lurked for some time now, gradually sifting my way through entirely too much of this thread! Anyway, I want to come out and play now, too!

We're taking our first trip to Disney as a family (DH and I have both been, but not since the 90s) next WEEK! :woohoo: Along the planning way, I got it into my head that I (ahem, I mean my 3-year-old) needed a Pooh twirl skirt. Mind you, I have never, ever used a sewing machine before. Ever. Mom to the rescue! She brought my grandmother's old machine over and helped me figure out the basics. It's no where near perfect, BUT, it's twirly and my daughter loves it. Of course, her little sister couldn't be left out, so when my mom went home, I attempted matching bloomers. Then a hat. THEN, I got all cocky and made a swing-type top to go with it. I even sort of appliqued, by bonding a piece of Pooh fabric on tops for both girls. Whew. This sewing stuff is addicting! :lmao:

Once I reach the magic number of posts, I'll be sure to share pics. We don't post our girls on line (which makes me so sad), but I'll get you pics of the outfits in some way. I am so, so grateful for the ideas and suggestions and encouragement (to others, since obviously I was lurking) from this thread. I'm excited to get to know you all a bit and learn along the way.

:welcome: Kaylea!!! So glad to have you out in public! I'm sure you're sewing endeavor was educational. Those first outfits aren't always perfect...but we aim for DONE:laughing: Now you'll see it gets easier w/ every project and soon you'll be doing spiral sleeves w/ no pattern at all!!!

I hope you have a fantabulous time at The World, we'll be hot on your heels (the 26th)

ps. the girls here don't mind if you start posting a countdown to the magic post just to get them out of the way;)

LOL, you're sweet T! I'm glad you're back too.

Sorry t, I just had to laugh at that one!

It's been SO busy for me lately with birthday parties, school, work, cheer for my oldest, etc, that I've barely had time to read the thread, let alone post. But, I have seen Nana around a bit lately! AND, I've gotten NO sewing done since Madison's first day of school outfit!!!

But, your "typo" just made me giggle!!!;)

So, Tampa area girls, when are we going to have a get-together??? :confused3

Nana is coming down next weekend, and we're taking a road-trip to Ocala to check out Hobby Lobby on Friday.

CRAP!!!!:rolleyes1 Stupid laptop keyboards...Apparently noone is safe

GTG YES!!!Um when did you say your mom was coming?? B has shows next Fri and Sun...Taste in Safety Harbor(coffee shop with GREAT food) and Tanya and Matt's Ice Creamiest which is on Dale Mabry. Discuss amongst yourselves and LMK (it'd save me gas to not have to come to Tampa again that weekend) Or ya know, something else is fine.

BTW if ya'll check out B's myspace you may be able to download mp3's now?!? I think I heard that now.

Welcome welcome! Sounds like you jumped in the sewing pool with both feet! RIGHT ON!! that is the only way to go!

Question, with all these super cute dresses and skirts. Has anyone knit anything for Disney stuff? I want to make my dd a hat with maybe a mickey head on it. or something.

No, I haven't nor do I have faith enough in my knitting abilities to try a design like that. BUT I would love to find a cross stitch pattern or something to do a swiss darning pattern on the front of a felted purse.. I saw the chick from The Breeders knit a really nifty purse on DIY's knitting show (knitty grity???Maybe??something lame like that anyway) and she used swiss darning to do the design on the front. Only screw DIY, cause they didn't even put the purse pattern on their website, they just show the purse and say "use swiss darning to make the design" No knit pattern no darning pattern WHat gives, right?? Anyway, I thought "if I knit that purse, I'd put a mickey head on it..." so if you come across something LMK...I'll make note that you are looking for something, if I find it I'll PM you. There aren't many knitters on here, I was surprised.

SO cute- the girls and the outfits- Did you bling the shirt or buy it that way??
We are going to the pumpkin patch this weekend. It will be fun having the kids pick out their pumpkins.
Hi, I bought the t-shirts and pre-made bling from Michaels crafts...all on sale. All I had to do was iron it on! I dont know how durable it will be after handwashing??? but I figure they will only wear the outfits a few times this month. We are going as a family to the pumpkin patch/harvest festival on Sat as well. :yay:

I finally finished my AK shirts. DD4 told me she really liked her 'rockstar clothes'. :rotfl2:

I also just realized that I have another pair of outfits finished that I fogot to take pics of. I'll try to get pics taken & post them later today.

Great job!!! :thumbsup2 I must say DD4 was amazed at the barbies on display behind your DD!

Here is the latest.

I love it Aimee...great applique!!!The colors are terrrific! I can't tell if it will be warm or cold by the end of the month so I might need to add a layer under their costumes??

Wow I can't believe it glows enough to capture it digitally! Very impressive. It must have taken a good amount of time to sew all that rick-rack-patty-whack (as we call it here) onto the skirt but it really came out great!!!

COOL TeresaJoyce!

I bought some glow in the dark fabric paint I'm going to add to our witchie costumes.

UM~ Cool about the glowy paint. I picked up something too but I don't think it glows...its sparkly white stuff to add to appliques and such. :confused3
Thanks about the twirl skirts....they are actually heavy since they are two gathered layers!!!
:rotfl2: about the reverse-bait-and-switch at the Pumpkin Place...they do tend to price pumpkins pretty high.....$3 is much more reasonable. We bought a kit at KMart which helps you carve pumpkins and a battery operated light for the inside.

On a little side note, I am actually a little bit divided on celebrating Halloween. I dont know if anyone else on here is too????:confused3 We try to do more of a fall/harvest festival theme. But the girls love love:love: the dressing up part and play dress up all year. I think of it as a chance to restock the dress up box. That and with left over dance recital dresses:rolleyes:

ooh i saw that one too. You know you could probably just get any felting purse pattern and then find a mickey head you like, and print it out, then use the graph paper to make the pattern on where to do your double stitches. does that make sense? haha if not sorry!

I am trying to teach myself how to crochet. I would love to make a pirate hat!

I always feel like I am butting into the middle of conversations. ;) Anyway I can design knit stuff. If I was going to make a Mickey head one I would do it as intarsia instead of swiss darning. I don't like the extra bulk. Ooooooo a mickey head/hidden mickey fair-isle design would rock!
