Bling Carriage....

Can someone please PM me and tell me step-by-step how to do the bling carriage? I really want to make that jumper and have no clue how to do or buy the stones.

:thanks:

Here is the way that I did my Bling Carriage. It is different from the original I think. I used regular crystals that I bought at Joann's. I used 7mm for the carriage, 5 mm for the wheels, door and top deco and 3 mm for the swirl in the wheel. I glued them on with Gem-Tac.
I cut out a big circle for the carriage and went around the outside of that. Then used a small circle for the wheels, and a cresent shape for the door. I used scrapbook stencils and just played with them till I got the right size. I free handed the swirls and deco on top.
I know my way is not the easiest but it worked for me. I set all the crystals around one piece of the stencil and get them how I want and then go back and glue them down - you're kind of doing the work twice but this way I know the spacing is correct and everything is where I want it.
The whole time I was doing it my DH kept saying, "Are those going to stay on?" :headache: I wanted to smack him because I don't know if they will stay on, but I sure hope so. I will be bringing extra crystals and glue with me to WDW just in case but they seem to be pretty secure.
Good Luck and just have fun with it.:goodvibes

I'm so far behind (haven't been on here since me and TJ's Saturday chatfest), but I'm determined to comment.

You send me into a fit of giggles every time you say "amaeba leaf". Although, I think I misspelled it. I love these outfits! The leaf one is my absolutel favorite!

This is so original! I love it!

This is great! I love the epcot mickey heads!!!

Thanks for sharing these great pictures! You have a beautiful family! Tom and his wife look a little "plastic", weird! I love all of Norah's outfits, but Aurora has to be my favorite!

Deann!! I didn't recognize you without the incredibles siggy pic. I love the interpretive candy corn skirt. That is too cute! Congrats on cutting into the Minnie dot. It turned out SO cute. But, that cutie wearing the outfit outshines everything! Can't wait to see what you do with the fancy fabric!

Woo Hoo! I have Lydia's Buzz Lightyear Redondo Spiral skirt all cut out! Now, to sew it together! There was a screaming and crying fit to be had by each and every one of my kids this afternoon, which kind of through me off schedule in sewing. It was seriously a MAD house here for awhile! But then I made supper and the idea of me actully COOKING shocked them all into silence! :scared1:

I'm evil, what can I say? :upsidedow

Yay! I can't wait to see the skirt (I'm so far behind, you probably already posted pictures)!

My sister really is evil! She had me convinced that the Beverly was the most wonderful, sweet, heavenly drink on the face of the earth. Imagine my horror when I actually took a big swig! I sure wish I had known about the disboards before this incident...

Here are my latest creations. I LOVED the carriage bling that someone did, I can't remember who, but I think it is perfect for this dress. So Thank you, thank you for your creative genius with the Bling carriage.

I think this is just beautiful!

Deann!! I didn't recognize you without the incredibles siggy pic. I love the interpretive candy corn skirt. That is too cute!

THANK YOU for saying "interpretive". Everyone kept commenting on the cute candy corn skirt and I'm thinking, umm, where's the candy corn? I even tried blowing up the pic to see if there were miniscule candy corns in the fabric. Well, DUH! Now I understand and I LOVE it!

OT: Scrappy brought us a present this morning: a dead baby bunny. It's the third one his gotten in a month. I don't know why they keep coming into our fenced yard. Don't they notice that there's less of them coming back each time? Thankfully, Megan doesn't totally grasp the situation. She told Scrappy not to bring nature into the house. Her brother says, yes, especially dead nature!

Our scrappy likes to chace lizards in our back yard. little gecko's. He caught a huge crow once and that freeked me out. it was still alive. I got him to drop it and come inside. I think that is bad luck, and birds have a ton of germs!

When I was waiting at the cutting counter at JoAnn's there was a cart of the cutest Christmas fabric, all 50% off. I only bought a yard each of four. I have no idea what I'm going to do with it yet.

I think my girls would love them, but this picture is a little freaky, with the blank eyes and half a face!!!
:eek:That is SCARY!!!

Fooey on all those who say they are too young to remember their trips when they are little.
I couldn't agree more!! So what if they don't remember? They have fun in the moment and we remember the joy on their faces! I give my kids lots of kisses every day. But, they may not remember it forever!

Hello, I have been lurking on this thread for a while, trying to read all the posts! LOL! You guys are so creative! I do some sewing, and I may try my hand at some of these.
:welcome: I can't wait tos ee what you come up with!

I found a really cool Mickey Head sheer fabric today!
th_Mickeyheadsheer.jpg

I found one lone yard of it at Joanns. I think it would be awesome for an overskirt. Time to get to work.

I love this fabric! I've seen someone make something out of this before...

That is so cute! I love the colors you used - and I really need to do an initial T. Your daughter is adorable - I would never have even noticed the wet hair.;)

I finished Lyddy's Buzz / sparkly surface of the moon Spiral skirt today!! WOO HOO! I just put in some earplugs and sewed through the bickering and fighting!! I highly recommend it! :thumbsup2

I still need to put the glow in the dark ric rac on, I'm not sure where I'm going to put it. I'm thinking maybe just peices of it around, kind of like shooting stars or something. We'll see. I also need to make a top to go with it. It turned out nice and twirly, yeah!!!!

I'll post some pictures tomorrow of the skirt.

So that's the trick - EARPLUGS!!! I'll have to try that! ;) Can't wait to see the skirt!

Nope, what counts is that we like it! And we do!! Very cute!

I better get a sneak peak of this skirt!! I am going to have to try the earplug thing. Actually, I'm pretty good at tuning them out without earplugs. Sawyer has been getting into something noisy in the kitchen for the last 1/2 hour and I still haven't gotten up to check on it. How great is that!?

DEAD nature!! :lmao: As much as I LOVE bunnies (I had a pet bunny named Jed who could use a litter box just like a cat), that is hilarious!!

That is SO cute!

Waaayyy CUTE! Love to see stuff for the boys!

Hi - This is my first try at the ruffler and a tiered twirl skirt - not positive on things - like when you do the elastic, do you make it exactly the size of their waist or a bit shorter so it doesnt stretch out too big? im looking for some constructive criticism to help me out!!! thanks so much, Wendy
th_100_4910.jpg

I don't know if anyone answered your question yet. But, I'll give it a shot! I usually make the elastic about the same size as Tessa's waist. If it fits too tight she's not going to want to wear it. I haven't had a problem with it stretching out. This is a really cute skirt!!

Wow, I love this! The colors are so cute together and the skirt is perfect!

EWWw I hope Sophie doesn't start doing this. So far the only thing she tries to catch are "palmetto" bugs. AKA giant roaches that live outside in the south.

Fooey on all those who say they are too young to remember their trips when they are little.

I totally agree! Zoe was barely 2 on her first visit to Disneyland and Sea World. I really didn't expect her to remember much once we got home so I was very surprised when several months later she mentioned details on one event (Shamu splashing us) that I'd totally forgotten. I remembered the expression on her face of stunned outrage at having water suddenly in her face and she remembered we'd been eating popcorn and had a soda. You can tell what stood out in her mind as an important detail. :rotfl: She rarely got either so having both was a real treat. She also remembers her Aunt (my sister) buying a Shamu towel so we could dry her face. She still has the towel and mentions getting splashed but I'm not sure how much she remembers now, almost 4 years later, and how much is memory from the stories we've discussed about that trip.

OMG, that is adorable!!! Is that the layered skirt from YCMT and you just made it without the tulle?

It's the double layer stripwork skirt from ycmt.com. This particular pattern didn't have tulle :confused3...just the white underskirt.

I love it!!! How wide did you make each stripe?

I cut each one 3" wide with a seam allowance of 1/2" on each side, so they come out to 2" wide. I think I cute about 8 of each fabric (there are 4), so that gives you an idea of what it measures around the skirt. That is a size 3, and I think its a good fullness.
