Ok, I guess I am just going to have to stay off this thread.....I thought my outfits were "perfect" :sad2: and NOW, I just keep seeing stuff and thinking "I should have thought of that" or "That is so cute, I need it"....So far, we have about 10 outfits for 5 days at the parks, so I should be done.

Yay me!!!! I finished my dd5's Halloween skirt set tonight!!!

I got my new ruffle foot out and tried it out. I am not sure how I feel about it though. It makes mroe of a pleat than a gathered ruffle.

I also used my serger for the first time in 18 mos. I ended up doing my gathering with my serger and I am now thinking I should have saved the $30 I spent on the ruffle foot.:confused3

Here are some pictures from our trip of some of the outfits you have and haven't seen:

Here's us with Tom and his lovely bride, Dee:

Yay! This one got a ton of attention using the pirate princess fabric from hancock and New Look pattern #6689
th_P9264441.jpg

This shows Aurora's sleeves a little better:

th_P9193774.jpg

This was the first "real" non-pillowcase dress I did using Ariel Walmart fabric and New Look pattern# 6719 (very beginner, I'm afraid):

This is the only picture of this. EVERYone commented!!! Using various animal prints from Walmart and McCalls #5603:

"After" BBB- Please note the pink glittery Converse (my DS18 calls "Chucks") that got a TON of attention...

Doesn't show much, but this is her Ariel at MGM dress using Easy Stitch and Save McCall's #M5370:(shows malfunction in purple ruffle too)

EEEk, only the back of the Epcot World Showcase dress with white bike shorts using McCall's M5458 and Hancock fabric:

I just need to dig up the Witch Ballerina. It's kinda cute since Minnie herself matched her!
Too cute! Thanks for sharing the pics! Wish we had time to visit when we met at POP! We were on our last day - you your first! I see you had dream fastpasses!!!

I have two outfits done!!! I just started a stripwork jumper for dgd2 out of scraps from the others, so it won't be ready until Tuesday. Also, dd8 wants to make her patchwork skirt, so take how long it takes me to make one and triple that!! But, they will all be done by Friday cuz we're doing Fall pics then!

Here is dd2's outfit:

This is dd7's:

Great Job! Love the skirts - and the bows!

Minnie pants, finally!! I just need hairbows and this is DONE!
th_DSC000082.jpg

Not sure what this pose is, but she insisted on doing it!
th_DSC000102.jpg

Also, here is the fabric I picked up today for dd7 & dd8's BBB Christmas dresses.

One will have the red and gold, the other will have the blue and I need to find some silver to match... no luck yet! I'm thinking a layered tulle skirt (I know I said I'd never make another one, but I figure this is special and it needs to be done special) and a long sleeve white tshirt with fur cuffs and snowflake appliques. I'd love any other ideas!!!
She is so adorable! Love the pose - and the outfit - it looks so cute AND comfortable! Can't wait to see what you create with the Christmas Fabric!

Poor little Makayla is so confused since returning from the World. She believes that Grandma lives at Disney World...probably because we stay at SSR in a one or two BR the two times she was with us. She keeps asking to go to the Nemo show and the Lion King show...I babysat her on Sat and she was belting out the tunes from the Nemo show all through Waldemart and AC Moore...attracting quite an audience "THat's My Dad"...if anyone has seen Nemo, it is awesome and she loves musicals...so we bought her the CD. DId you know that the man who plays Nemo's dad and the woman who plays Nemo are married and they wrote this musical? It is amazing...really OT I know. I just feel so bad for Makalya..she really is so mixed up. She has a little table and chair in the corner of her living room with a DVD personal player and she just watches all her Disney movies over and over and over...anyone else have this scenario with their almost 3 year old?

It is in the 90's here in PA...unbelievably warm. Bought some inexpensive leggings at Target today so that she can wear all her Disney creations to day care (school as they call it)...I am almost finished with her Halloween outfits...I have so enjoyed this message board and seeing all of the beautiful customs and got lots of ideas...how great is that???

Oh, why am I here at 4am??? Got a terrible cold when I returned and my meds keep me awake...glad that we are off on Monday...gotta love Christopher Columbus...

Back to Joann's in am for more sales. Our Valdemart in Harrisburg had a huge fabric department and I got tons of fabric...and AC Moore - may just be a local chain had 40 percent off all their scrapbooking supplies and I got bags of stickers and paper...now I need to find the time to do it!

So glad to be a grandma...
Susan
She is sweet! I loved all the pics you shared from your trip! Hope you are feeling better soon!

Yes, you are exactly right on the measurements!

I *might* be selling some of her customs from our trip. I just have to uncover them from the pile of vacation clothes, and get them cleaned and pressed for their "new" owner.

A couple of them weren't even worn
It is so hard to get a 5 year old out of a pool when it is over 90 degrees. out with 100% humidity, and into a cool and comfy outfit that I made for her.
Oh well, that is a story for another day!

And... it must be a curse! We just returned from Disney, and we are all down for the count with colds, and sinus issues! It doesn't help that we are having record heat here too.

Everyone's outfits have been so great! I still have a Halloween sumptin'-sumptin' to make, and then onto the Christmas stuff.

UtahMama, ha!, ha!, ha! Our costumes weren't that good!
Congrats on the Dream Fast Passes. We didn't see one member of the Dream Squad out all week. We must have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. ......Probably at the pool!
LOL about the pool - our kiddos were hooked too! DD finally learned to swim with her head underwater - or I should say finally just did it - so that's all she wanted to do! Hope you all are feeling better soon!

Umama and Tom - it looks like you both had a great time on your WDW vacation. I would love to go in Oct. for Halloween but I don't think we could handle the rain, my kids HATE getting wet (except in the pool). Your DDs look adorable and I can't wait to read your trip report Umama.

Here are my latest creations. I LOVED the carriage bling that someone did, I can't remember who, but I think it is perfect for this dress. So Thank you, thank you for your creative genius with the Bling carriage.

Hope everyone has a great Columbus day. My kids are actually in school. KS is a little backwards you know.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!!! That is so adorable! My kiddos were in school today too.

Hi All,
I finally finished my Old MacDonald outfit.
There are panels all the way around with different animals, a chicken, a pig, and sheep, and the tractor.

Sorry about the photos. I'm definately not a photographer...

I just noticed...the first picture actually makes my yard look good....LOL... We don't have sod, I'm waiting for a new sprinkler system first, and on 2 acres, it will be a pretty penny. So in the meantime, I spend my free time mowing weeds...hey at least they are green weeds....LOL
Very cute! Love the back of the straps - the flower?

Well, I finally took the plunge and used some of the animal prints I bought for an AK set... which is becoming 2 sets that can mix and match. I usually don't give in the urge to add more pieces but in this case I decided to go for it. I'm happy with the jeans and tee but not sure about the skirt or what kind of top to make to go with it. I think the skirt needs more Minnie dot on it as well as some of the squares with animals so I may add the squares alternating with Mickey/Minnie silhouettes of the dot near the ruffle.

Any suggestions?
I think they look great - I also think a mickey head on the skirt would be perfect!

Thank you for answering my questions!!! You all are great! I am anxious to go shopping now for fabric. haha! I am looking through the posts, and my daughter is saying, "I want that one, and that one, and oh mommy, that one, and.........."

Well, maybe a skirt for now and a t-shirt! haha. Wish me luck!
Good luck! Be sure to post some pics!

Check the "site that must not be named" using Mickey Sheer. I bought it over a year ago and just got around to making Kirsta a dress with it. My sister loved it and wanted it for her little girl. I needed more and got off that "site that must not be named", around June.

She is simply precious!

Great pics! She is so stinkin' cute - and I loved her poses! TFS!

Here is the latest outfit I made DD. I thought it turned out cute, and she seems to like it, so that's what counts, right?!

Sorry about the wet hair - she was just out of the bathtub!

Oh my! I  this! It's just way too cute! May I ask where you got the harlequin and polka dot fabrics?

OK all you bow-makers - HOW do you do it? I have spent several hours tonight trying to make some decent bows. Yikes! They turned out marginal at best and like I said, took me HOURS.

I followed some tutorials in TeresaJoy's bookmarks, but I just don't think I'm coordinated enough or something. I have short, stubby fingers too, so that doesn't help! LOL.

Anyway, I'm in awe of all you bow-makers. I think I may just stick to sewing!

No, I can't take the credit for the C! My MIL just bought be a new embroidery machine, and I got the applique design off eBay, so the machine did it all! I love the font though.

I got all the fabrics at Hobby Lobby. I went back to get more of the black polka dot, and it was gone. :sad2: Guess everyone else liked it too.

I just noticed that the fabric for the AK skirt is Tiger faces! That is great!!!
The Aurora turned out beautifully!!
TERESAJOY!!!! Be NICE!!!!! I am not telling you the Kelly Ripa story (or showing the pics) if you won't play nice::cop: :lmao:
You KNOW Beverly is awful!!!! (To anyone who has not tried it-think akalzer "fizz" combined with acid dripping down your throat AGH!)
It is NOT an "aquired" taste!!!!

Schools here in WDW are in session today. I guess it would be "wrong" to go to WDW while DD is in school right? :rolleyes1

Cindee

:guilty: (That's the guilty smiley by the way). I gave her a flower, can't I hear the Kelly Rippa story with pictures now??? Please, pretty please????
:teeth:

And, I must say your description of Beverly is dead on!!!!

Fooey on all those who say they are too young to remember their trips when they are little.
Yeah, FOOEY on them!!!!

I love it!!! Your daughter is such a cutie!!!
And, your yard looks great!

I love these! I was wondering how the decoupage would look higher than the knees. These look great!

I found a really cool Mickey Head sheer fabric today!

Mickeyheadsheer.jpg

I found one lone yard of it at Joanns. I think it would be awesome for an overskirt. Time to get to work.
Cindee

That is really pretty! (see how nice I'm being now?? :) )

Yes, I have no life, and I'm still sitting here...LOL.
Unless you want another project, stay away from the Creative Disigns board. Oh my...I just found a perfect little passport for Epcot, that you print out at home. It's much cuter than the one's they sell....Adorable...I can't wait to print it out!!
I'm planning on printing some of those for the kids too! Are you using Pat's design?

image1003.jpg

I really like this outfit on her. She reminds me of Lydia in this picture!

I love this one too! That is really cute!

It's adorable!!! I love those fabrics!!!

I finished Lyddy's Buzz / sparkly surface of the moon Spiral skirt today!! WOO HOO! I just put in some earplugs and sewed through the bickering and fighting!! I highly recommend it! :thumbsup2

I still need to put the glow in the dark ric rac on, I'm not sure where I'm going to put it. I'm thinking maybe just peices of it around, kind of like shooting stars or something. We'll see. I also need to make a top to go with it. It turned out nice and twirly, yeah!!!!

I'll post some pictures tomorrow of the skirt.

Bling Carriage....

Can someone please PM me and tell me step-by-step how to do the bling carriage? I really want to make that jumper and have no clue how to do or buy the stones.

:thanks:

I am making tutus for Christmas presents. I actually bought instructions  I probably didn't need to but, I wanted them to turn out really well. I have one done already! They are really quick. I did use the regular bolt size tulle and I found a good tool to cut it in half. Instead of going along the crease with scissors I used a gift wrap cutter. The kind with the razor blade in it that you just put the paper in and push across. Really fast. I did use my roller cutter to cut it into 6" strips. I will post them when they are all done.

Wow, I love this! The colors are so cute together and the skirt is perfect!

OT: Scrappy brought us a present this morning: a dead baby bunny. It's the third one his gotten in a month. I don't know why they keep coming into our fenced yard. Don't they notice that there's less of them coming back each time? Thankfully, Megan doesn't totally grasp the situation. She told Scrappy not to bring nature into the house. Her brother says, yes, especially dead nature!

Love this!! You are right, the carriage is perfect with that fabric.

This is what I worked on all yesterday - 2 patchwork twirl skirts, why do I put myself through the torture of these things.
th_disboutique068.jpg

Your skirts came out really nice and I'm getting very tempted to make some of those Santa hat mickey head shirts.

I love, love, love this, and not just because I have a Megan too. I know you posted a side picture, but can you show the inside? I would love it see how you decorated and punched the cds.

You can't really see the CD's themselves now that it's completed because they are totally sandwiched between the chipboard pieces and patterned paper. I will try to get some more pics for you though. I should have a minute tonight when I get home. (posting from work, shhh, don't tell!)

Hello, I have been lurking on this thread for a while, trying to read all the posts! LOL! You guys are so creative! I do some sewing, and I may try my hand at some of these. One question, though. Where do you get the pattern for the mickey head that you appique on the shirts? Do you just make it?

Oh, and do you use the bonding tape to hold the ribbons on the shirts? I am anxious to start a project, now! LOL, It looks so fun, and my daughters love to twirl in a skirt, so I guess I am going to try one of those!!!

I love, love, love your designs!!!!

Welcome! Now that I read further I see that your questions were answered. Happy sewing!!

Love it! I think that the skirt looks great as is and I can totally picture it with one of your corset tops. Animal prints on the sides and back, minnie dot inset with one of the animal squares appliqued on front?

Yes, I have no life, and I'm still sitting here...LOL.
Unless you want another project, stay away from the Creative Disigns board. Oh my...I just found a perfect little passport for Epcot, that you print out at home. It's much cuter than the one's they sell....Adorable...I can't wait to print it out!!

I printed 4 sets of these for my kids and for my niece and nephew who are going with us. She really did a great job. I still haven't figured out how I'm going to arrange them in a book though. Any tips from those of you who have used them?

Does anyone sell glow in the dark fabric? I am making a simple skeleton costume for DGS...and need to put bones on it...they didn't have any at our Joann's. did search on voldemart...none that I saw. Could I put them on with white fabric and then pain with fluorescent paint do you think?

The glow in the dark paint does work. BUT you can't spread it thin, if you do then it wont work. Good Luck with the costume. I bet it will be greaaaat!!!
