okay here it is for those who want to see the dress i made for DD princess: dinner at DCA. I went a lil extravagant:rolleyes1 being my only DD and her first visit..
th_jayedynsprincessdress1.jpg

th_jayedynsprincessdress3.jpg

and here is the back it is supposed to have a zipper but i have never done one and so i did a corset tie up like on Belle's dress.
th_jayedynspd2back.jpg

i still have to do her Gaunlets (gloveless gloves:laughing: )

WOW! Both the dress and your DD are just stunning! I really like the corset back idea! I did buttons rather than a zipper on my Minnie dress. I hope you and your DD have a wonderful dinner!!

glad you guys had a great time! loved all of the outfits...mrs tater head is one of my faves! speaking of which, i know someone had asked you the formula and you said each row made the squares twice the size of the previous (4in, 8in, 16in) ive never tried it this way, but bought fabric to do so. one dumb question before i cut... that means that if row 1 is 4x4in sq, the next row is 4x8, then 4x16, right? only the lenght of the patch is doubling right? just thought id check. thanks for your help!

-tonya

ps if you resell leighannas FABULOUS clothes (especially tater head) PLEASE let me know. :)

Wow guys all the Halloween outfits are PRECIOUS! I wish I had time to put some together for the girls. With everything going on it is going to be to insane. But there is always next year right? My littlest will be in K next year so I at least think she will still like them lol. Or am I wishing more than what will happen lol.

Plus side they saw what my oldest was going to be for Halloween this weekend and loved it. They had store bought Disney princess dresses ( we will have to put a stop to that ;)). I asked if they wanted me to make them one and they excitedly said yes yes yes. :goodvibes: So I got measurements and whether they are with us already or not I am making the girls Halloween costumes. :dance3: DS reminded me the other night that I need to start early next year because I will have 6 kids to make Halloween costumes for. Then he paused and said WOW mom think of all the princess' dresses you will have to make for Disney! LMAO.

This is the top. I decided on something plain. I thought it would be cute with a black long sleeve tee under it as well.

Ok, here is what I have been working on...

This was for the little girl whose birthday party we went to today. She didn't seem that impressed but her mother squealed when she pulled it out so I guess it's a success!

This is M's bat outfit. I don't like the neckline of the top, but she seems happy with it:

This is her turkey outfit on, amoeba leaves and all!

th_100_1848.jpg

Whew! I need a break I think! Why is it still so hot here?
Everything is SMASHING! ((Hi Megan!!! princess:)) What a fabulous gift! Megan looks fabulous in amoeba leaves :thumbsup2

Very cute! I like the plainer top since I'm sure there'll be a bow involved. That skirt has some serious twirlage, I'm thinking! You always amaze me :cheer2: :cheer2:

I have a scrapbooking tool called a Crop-a-Dile that can punch through all kinds of things. Hmm, I didn't think about that. Maybe you could use a small drill?

Thanks to all of you who have complimented my creations! You are the best!

I used a Dremel when I did a book like that. It worked really well, just remember to wear goggles when you do it.

And it got up to 94 degrees here today!!! In October! In MICHIGAN!!! Last year, we had snow on the 11th! I checked the date on the pictures I took of Brian and Lydia making snowmen and having a snowball fight. Of course, it could snow on the 11th this year too! You just never know around here!

Great job on all of the outfits!!!! That was a lot of sewing! I have been working all weekend on the girls Halloween skirts. One set down and two to go! I tell you what...it was like 80 degrees out today and very humid and the girls played in their pool on the back deck!!!!!

And last but not least, here is what I've been working on this weekend. Can you tell who Megan chose to be for Halloween?? I still need to make the white pantaloons and get her some new black tights. Now I need to get cracking on a pirate shirt an vest for DS.

The flag fabric I bought off of Voldemort a while ago, and the epcot balls I made by hand. I took silver fabric and just sewed across it with black thread.
I made a matching shirt too, but haven't posted pictures yet..LOL.

Lisa, can you tell us your formula you used for your twirl? Like how big the patches, how long etc? Also do you try to figure out in advance how many patches of each square to have?

Too awesome to make any smaller! Love everything! What a great family vacation!

Off Topic, and I won't appologize. Need Voldemort help please. How do i end an auction? DH did something wrong and ended it in one day instead of 5 like we want. Since 2 hours have gone by, it won't let us edit the time. How do I cx whole auction? Thanks!

hi - i was wondering if anyone had made a patchwork twirl skirt for a size 6 - if so, would you be willing to share your number of patches for each layer?

Do they usually have any cute Disney Christmas fabric, or would it be out already? i saw the light blue one with mickey - but any others?

For my dd6, I used 7 patches each of four fabrics (total of 28 patches) and they measured 6x6.5... Good luck!!!!!

Ok, here is what I have been working on...

Your family looks adorable!! That pic of her in her Aurora dress needs to be framed!! I love her pink Converse! And... where's Nora w/Minnie's sewing machine?

Oh yeah... WTH is Beverly?

I have two outfits done!!! I just started a stripwork jumper for dgd2 out of scraps from the others, so it won't be ready until Tuesday. Also, dd8 wants to make her patchwork skirt, so take how long it takes me to make one and triple that!! But, they will all be done by Friday cuz we're doing Fall pics then!

Here is dd2's outfit:

One will have the red and gold, the other will have the blue and I need to find some silver to match... no luck yet! I'm thinking a layered tulle skirt (I know I said I'd never make another one, but I figure this is special and it needs to be done special) and a long sleeve white tshirt with fur cuffs and snowflake appliques. I'd   any other ideas!!!
