Okay I have probably the strangest question/request of anyone on here. Totally OT, but I don't know who else to ask. Does anybody have swim diapers still in their stores?? I need some for ds for our WDW trip in December. But since we are in Alaska and it's currently 23 degrees no stores have them out anymore. I forgot to buy them this summer. I only need a couple just in case we swim. Is there any kind individuals out there who are willing to send some my way? I'll pay for the diapers and shipping of course!

Hey, I just looked and I have half a package in the kids' bathroom. I would be happy to send you some if you want to PM me. We don't need them anymore.

Can anyone recommend a good easy sleep pant pattern?

I used Simplicity 3935. It has kid and adult sleep pants in them. I made the adult ones for myself and my sister. The slippers came out horribly, so I wouldn't recommend them, but the pants were fine. I had to adjust the rise, it was too long, but otherwise they were great and very easy.

I see that someone else already posted that they can send you some, but if anyone needs anymore, we have plenty, and have no use for them anymore.

But this board has let me stretch beyond following a knitting pattern or copying a sample craft.. I've been able to come up w/ my own ideas (even if inspired by someone else's) and even make my own pattern-however simple. Not to mention the super bunch of ladies I've got to know so I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for making this board what it has become.:grouphug:

Sorry, I didn't mean to get all mooshy... it's not like me. I should have a funny quip right now, but I don't. Don't get used to it, I'm sure I'll be my normal sarcastic, smartass self shortly.
...t.

Awww, T. is getting all mushy on us!!! Welcome to the club!!! Your post made me all teary eyed!!! :grouphug: I think we all know exactly what you mean. This thread has just become so wonderful! pixiedust: I think of you all as friends. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

My mom took the kids to the zoo. So, I'm all alone in the house and hardly know what to do with myself!!

WOW!!! That is SOOOO weird!!!! MY mom took Lydia and my neice and nephew to the zoo today too!!!!
:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: At least I cracky msyelf up!!! :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Hey guys I have been out of the loop a minute. We ended up moving and we have been hard and heavy at the adoption. I had to postpone my sewing class as well because of the adoption and my youngest bio is supposed to have some surgery in Nov. With the adoption it is looking like I will have my 4 little ones before Halloween.:scared:

 Just wanted to welcome you back and wish you well with the adoption and the surgery.

You know what else, my DH wore a woman's blouse w/ puffy pirate sleeves
...t.
:rolleyes1 Brandon wore a girle shirt Brandon wore a girlie shirt!!! :rolleyes1
:rotfl2: ;)

Reminds me of that episode of Sinefeld! The puffy shirt!

Ok, I need help! I'm making peasant blouses. I'm using this pattern from the bookmarks

http://indietutes.blogspot.com/2007/07/peasant-blouse.html

I'm confused. It says - Cut two squares 14" x 14" (this is length desired plus 2" for hems)
So, do you take that to mean that if you want the length to be 19", then you would cut two squares that are 21" each?

And then, it says to use the same pattern for the arm holes that is a J'ed off rectangle that is 5" x 2". So, my question is, if you make this shirt in a size 12 (the original pattern is like a size 3 or something), do you still use the same size pattern for the arm hole?

Can anyone help me?
I tried this pattern for my DD8. She wears a size 10/12. I added 2 inches to each armhole size and it was WAY too small. It actually fit my DN a size 6/7. So I need to readjust it as well. I would be interested in an easy way to calculate. I have the same problem with a lot of the free patterns out there. they are all for toddler sizes and I'm not sure how to adjust. I only need a bodice top for size 14/16.

Hi Everyone!

I am attempting a tied tutu for Laila and I have a few questions...

1) How do you keep the elastic from stretching out as you tighten the tulle piece around it?

2) Do you have to worry about the elastic twisting?

3) Has anyone ever tried stitching them down to keep the ties from moving around the elastic? By hand or machine?

I am trying to figure out if I am missing some step- they are so expensive on Ebay! I bought 100 yds of tulle for less than 12 bucks and so far I think 25 yards makes a cute shorter length tutu for her- she is only 2, but I also want to try a longer one as well.

Thanks for any help!
When I made mine, the tighter I tied the strips, the more the elastic stretched and stayed that way. I loosened the ties and all was fine. They still stay tied.

I have some extras to. What size do you need? they are avail at most resort stores too. Or if you order from Garden Grocer.

Shannon I am a lot closer to you now. We moved to a 6 bedroom really close to the lake in Gladewater.

They only come in little boys sizes though right? DS 12 is a small adult size. I think I may do this for the younger boys though because it will help me out a bit. I will go check goodwill too I had not thought about that. We have one here in Gladewater and there are a few in Longview. I typically like to have my kids "match" but we will deal this year because I cannot afford my seamstress for 6 kids lmao. I am going to try the pants and making them out of brown flannel so they can be comfy and also can use them for sleep pants after Halloween.

Thank you for the well wishes. I am glad to be moved and that this part of the process is almost done. It has been a rollercoaster and I am ready to get off. ;)

COOL! I live in the Spring Hill area - we're pretty close! We should get together and sew sometime!

Actually they had a shirt only that was in adult sizes. They didn't have just the shirt in kids sizes, so I had to buy the kit. The ones in adult sizes were actually a little better, but I don't remember the price.

What size do you need? I have some in the largest size (Ds wears size 6 diapers).

Hey I have a holiday craft discussion going, well hopefully. Click in my sig if you want to join in.

Sorry I am a little behind. Was someone was wanting to do elastic pants w/o a pattern? I do this and I use Ds's pants as a pattern. Find some that fit and fold them so you get the curve of the crotch area and trace around. Add extra for the hem/seams/and elastic turndown. VERY easy. I actually am making some from my old (too big for me, yay) pants.

He has a gig tonight and that soo makes me want to mention it to the MC. She shares my sense of humor and would probably work it into her intro in a very sly and funny way. i might have to drop her a line.:rolleyes1

which totally OT I am LOVING that he is back out in the music circuit, since he's on display all the time now, he has 1) got hip new glasses (kinda out of necessity as his old ones broke, but whatever) 2.) just cut 5" of his hair off and his new hair cut is SUPER SEXY:love: and 3) waxed his eyebrows :scared1: you know, he's Italian...(goes hand in hand w/ the haircut 'cause our stylist is totally hot and he'll do whatever she says!!!)

PIPERPIZAZZ: I just wanted to say :cheer2: YAY, YOU!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: for having pants that are too big!!! That is SUPER:worship: :worship: :worship:

:grouphug: You guys rock!! :grouphug: Everybody here is so helpful. It looks like I'll be covered now with the diapers! I felt so stupid asking, but you guys are incredible! Some fine ladies have volunteered to help me out!

Thank you!! :dance3:

Yeah, we're pretty awesome :rockband:

I will try to get some pics tonight @ The Bunker.

OK this is a little off subject....Ok WAY off subject, but does anyone know where you can find the fuschia and purple disney crocs? I see them on ebay, but never in my daughter's size. She is really wanting a pair and I don't know where to get them. Any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA:)

I wonder if I am the only one who feels B-O-R-I-N-G when you talk about the fun life you lead!?!?!?!?! I need to get my husband a more interesting hobby than watching ESPN!

Thanks for the tips on the tutu! Here is Laila in my first attempt. I will def. try looser knots next time!

I have to tell you- yes she is sticking out her tongue. I had just let them try some Crystal Light for the first time. Needless to say- they loved it!

Laila- I love this princess shirt. It has a floaty attached piece for Aurora's dress

So cute! I have that same shirt for my DD only the Cinderella version. Now I think she needs a tutu to go with it! Love the cute kids on the kitchen table! Now that's a new way to keep them from running away when you're trying to take their picture!

A) the rockband was for the Disboutique Krewe! cause according to Pixiedust in AK, we rock.
B) Brandon would think it's funny that you think our life is exciting. Especially since one of his upcoming gigs is at an ice cream parlor:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Which sounds funny but it's a really "hip" place, they do ice carvings on the sidewalk...chainsaws and all. He misses his :rockband: days. He considers what he's playing now "adult comtemporary accoustic" and it's for OLD people. Which, we clearly are...he's in denial. No, he loves playing accoustic music...it let's him showcase his lyrics b/c ppl really LISTEN to it. But misses all that jumping around on stage and jamming out stuff.

BTW (shameless plug) anyone who has not heard him can check him out at www.myspace.com/workingclassproject or on Neil Youngs website http://www.neilyoung.com/lwwtoday/lwwsongspage.html currently at #68 (Lesser of 2 Evils by Brandon Ruck)
