I love it. I added to my list of things to CASE.
WOO-HOO!! I'd be honored if you CASE me! Thank you!

I am in awe, I have no desire to make anything that requires seem ripping jeans!!! And I could eat you DD up!!!
Thank you! The jeans weren't too hard. Once the seam ripper got started, it just zipped right up the leg. It was actually pretty fun! The shoes are from Libby Lu and were on clearance for $4.99!

All I can say is WOW! That looks like it took a lot of work. It's really, really cute!
Thank you so much!

I just wanted to say again that I think she is absolutely gorgeous! dd16 thinks so too!
Aw shucks, you're both so sweet! I was glad to finally get a good picture of her to post on the board!

This is way too cute!!!! I am sooo jealous of this. I could never do something like that but sure wish I could! Maybe one day!
Arielskirts-37.jpg
Thank you so much! I love the outfits you posted. Your girls are gorgeous, too!

You both did a great job! DD has a gorgeous smile!!

Thanks for sharing your creations! Your DD is adorable!

I'm going to have a friend make me a tote bag and I'm looking for some Mickey Mouse themed ribbon (3/4 inch or wider). Do any of you know where I could find such a thing? I've been googling and calling craft stores all morning with no luck.
I'm absolutely no help with your question. But, I wanted to say that I LOVE your siggy pic! I just bought that Mickey costume for Sawyer off of ebay. We both love it!

Wow it looks like you took two weeks to do it has a lot of little details. She is so adorable in it. I can't waite to see what you do next. Thanks for sharing.:thumbsup2
Thank you! It took me a while because we were all sick and my 1 year old likes to "help" me sew.

I have been finding it hard to find the time. I'm a single mom, and in nursing school full time, and sell my creations..to live..LOL. So it's hard to find the balance between making things for others, and for yourself, in addition to studying...LOL...studying...what's that...:confused3
And just for the record...my clothes like living in the dryer...they told me so this morning...:lmao:
Hmm...mine prefer the floor of my closet...

As for laundry.. there is in the middle of my washroom a monument I like to call Mt. Washmore. ...t.
Mt. Wasmore! That threw me into a giggle fit! :lmao:

what pattern did you use. I love the top. it is so stylish.
Lori
Thank you! It's McCall's pattern 5456. If you decide to try it, PM me and I'll give you some tips. It was a little tricky around the sleeves.

I love all the outfits and the sippy cup! My DD had a sippy cup of water in every picture at that age.

Very cute! I love the style and your fabric choices! Beautiful set and daughter!
Thank you so much!

Heathersue I love your outfit and the little poodle just adds the right touch. I like the colors of those fabrics.
Thanks! Tessa picked out the poodles!

I also set aside one day a week to really deep clean (Mondays while the girls are at preschool and I can get something done!) and pick up every day after they go to bed. It is hard!
Okay, so Tuesday is now going to be "Clean HeatherSue's house day". You will come to my house and deep clean over here. Sounds good to me! ;)

Quick question for those of you who do all these adorable clothes:

I'm going to have a friend make me a tote bag and I'm looking for some Mickey Mouse themed ribbon (3/4 inch or wider). Do any of you know where I could find such a thing? I've been googling and calling craft stores all morning with no luck.

TIA!

:flower:

How much do you need? PM me.

O.k., here's my sewing question...........

How do you guys stay motivated to keep sewing all of the time and who's doing your laundry while you sew?????????????:confused3

I absolutely love to sew, but I am bad about getting a project started because I always think that everything has to be in order before I can start and well, that just never happens. I thought that I would get to sew sooooo much once Drew started Kindergarten, but it appears that after 10 years of having preschoolers in my house I have lost the ability to focus on a task for more than 15 minutes. Seriously though, I am going to get myself organized and get sewing!

I have spent the first few weeks of my "kid free days" meeting friends for lunch and socializing. Now I am ready to get to work! Any tips on how you guys stay organized at home that help you have time to sew will be very appreciated.

I am getting off the computer and heading to the sewing machine store. I had my serger serviced and I am so excited because they were able to fix it! I "ran over" my zipper foot about a year and half ago and it totally jammed up. I also ordered a ruffler foot for my sewing machine that they got in. Hopefully my new tools will get me psyched up to get working on the 500 projects that I have bought fabric for!

YEAH!!! You are getting the serger fixed!!! Laundry? I hate laundry! I dryer broke a month or so ago. I"m getting a workout lugging all that wet laundry up the stairs and out the back door! :laundy: (but hey, dh fixed the furnace after two years!!! WOO HOO!)
Ok here is my dd 10mo in her matching outfit to Big Sis

th_Arielskirts-39.jpg

How sweet! She is adorable!! I love the matcing outfit!

Here are my latest:
ribbon skirt for dd 10mo Want to add a shirt with mickey with Santa hat for her to wear to MVMCP. Does anyone know where to find any images?

And last an outfit I made for DD4. Any ideas for the shirt? It looks really plain to me.
th_10-2-07-2.jpg

TIA for all you help! You guys ROCK!:rockband:
How about some blin around Minnie or around the neckline?
Here is the 2nd skirt:

I still have alot of threads to clip and to finish the bottom, not sure if I should just hem or add something.
Adorable! Did I spot a Mickey head countdown calendar in the background of one of those pictures?

O.k., here's my sewing question...........

How do you guys stay motivated to keep sewing all of the time and who's doing your laundry while you sew?????????????:confused

Laundry? Nah who has time? I just make new outfits :lmao:

Sorry couldn't resist :dance3:
:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Hey everyone! I have really enjoyed checking out all the new outfits and pics! I just started sewing last month- and am using the Singer Esteem from Target ( which I got on sale!!)

Sorry to bombard with pics- but here are some things I have done. Thanks everyone for the inspiration and encouragement!

And my tuckered out spicy nacho- in my original smocket( Thanks for the help with the pattern Teresa!) Made out of left over blue toile from my kitchen curtains!
th_Clothes007.jpg

Thanks for letting me share!
I'm glad it worked out for you! I've been wanting to try that pattern too! Your daughter looks so sweet!

I bought some and was wondering if anybody has some handy hints. I know CastleCreations had a whole bunch of things to say about it, but can't seem to get the search function to work. I need it to glue down an applique on Bonnie's dress. It just won't stay ironed on. Don't want it to peel off next week!Anyone?
Carrie

No help on the glue, but if you do a Google search, you can type in your search like, E6000 CastleCreations then type in site:http://www.disboards.com after that, and it will only search this site. It makes it a little easier to find things on the board.

Your search will look like: E6000 CastleCreations site:http:// www. disboards. com (without the spaces in the address)

Ok HeatherSue, you finally made me post on this thread!:yay:
I've been reading it since the beginning but only sew a little and my daughter is 18 yrs old. Waiting for grandkids (hopefully waiting until she finishes college) to sew some of these beautiful creations!

However, I was just at WalMart today looking for the minnie dot fabric and they had none. A young family in our neighborhood is heading to Disney World for a first and last trip (very sad story, dad who is only 38 has terminal lung cancer and his two little girls are only 10 months and 24 months old). So, I thought I'd alter some overalls for these little girls. I'll send you a PM.

Even though I haven't sewn any of the beautiful things all of you have made, I really enjoy looking at it!:cheer2: Way back when the thread started and my daughter was still home and in high school, I used to call her over to the computer to show her all of your cute daughters and clothing. I did use the hairbow tutorials to make her some corker bows to wear to the football games!

And, here a few non-sewing tips: (1) if you want to know when a certain seller lists something on ebay, add them to your Favorite Sellers list. You can get automatic notification by e-mail. :wizard: (2) if you want the joann's/micheals/hooby lobby coupons, you can go to their websites and sign up for their emails. They'll e-mail you more coupons than you can use!:rotfl:

Keep up the good work!:thumbsup2

Welcome out of lurkdome!

I've been experimenting with my ruffler foot. I've had it almost a year and still don't take full advantage of what it can do. I want to be able to use it to gather one tier while attaching it to the next. Here are two Halloween skirts I made Sunday night for Zoe using some fabric I dug up from the depths of my stash. I know it was inexpensive so I figured it I really messed up the skirts, I wasn't out much more than my time.

hallow_twirl1.jpg

I still have some fine-tuning to do on this but Zoe was thrilled by the twirl skirt fairy's visit. LOL

As for Disney themed sewing, I finished these cute matching lounge sets. They are very simple in style but I thought the idea of using Chip on one shirt and Dale on the other was great so they match without being identical (I can't take credit for the idea).

chip_n_dale1.jpg

OK, last photos I promise. It's not Disney but I loved how it came out. I'm not usually one to select vintage looking prints but I think they were perfect for this Raggedy Ann set.

OOOH LOOKIE Heather!!! Chip and Dale!!! Lisa those are adorable!!! I love the Raggedy Ann too, a lot! I had a rag doll that I use to call Biggy, because well, she was BIG! I loved that doll! So, I have a soft spot for Raggedy Ann. Heather had a Raggedy Ann doll that my Grandma made her when she was little too.

Oh Lisa, I love it all!! I especially love the Chip 'N Dale shirts and the Raggedy Anne outfit!! I have some Chip 'N Dale fabric that was delivered by pixie dust to me. I haven't had the nerve to cut into it yet.

Finally managed to get the situation with the sewing machine worked out and excitedly came home to finish Hannah's outfit. Well guess what I did with my crazy self? Forgot to put elastic on the front and back of her dress.

I am so annoyed with myself for forgetting something so important. I had intended for DD to wear the outfit tonight, but it will have to wait until my sis can do surgery to fix my mistake.

Playdate200.jpg

Ignore the wrinkles--my model insisted upon wearing it around the house. Also the pants are not pictured because she wouldn't take them off. :rotfl:

HeatherSue, I am totally amazed by your generosity! When I couldn't find the fabric, I had logged on hoping to find something else in the photobucket album that I might be able to make and then, saw your post. Sorry to anyone else who thought they might want the fabric. Here is what I want to make:
100_0773.jpg

The little girls are, well little. So I will pass on whatever I don't use for them.
Now, back to WalMart to find the overalls!

Thanks so much,
Paulette

That's going to be so cute!! Just let me know how much fabric you'll need and then I'll repost my offer with the remaining fabric. It's such a tragic story. Teresa's neighbor is dying of cancer. She's a young mother of 2 little ones. I can't remember their exact ages, but they're pretty little. It just breaks my heart that families have to go through this.

We are a pretty nice bunch of ladies here! Although, I think HeatherSue is particuarly special!!! Since she's my baby sister and all!

ETA: We must have been typing at the same time Heather.

My neighbor's babies are 3 and almost 2. They are the sweetest little things, just like their mommy. It breaks my heart. She is only 30 herself.

As soon as I get the overalls, I measue how much I need (don't you think just 1 1/2 times the actual waist measurement?) and let you know. Oh, and maybe a little extra for a mickey head on the bib. I know I could never do an applique like the original ones had!

If the maker of these overalls still checks this thread, could you post any directions or hints on how you did them?

Thanks to all of you nice ladies, and gentlemen! If circumstances were different, I might attempt Dweedle Dee and Dum!!!:rotfl:

I love all of them! I esp love the Chip n Dale. My 3yo DS loves them and it is impossible to find anything with them on it for a little boy!!!

My sister is a big Raggedy Ann fan. She has a collection of dolls and figurines. I told her about this set and said I'd applique Ann on a tshirt or sweatshirt for her. I think she's seriously considering it. :goodvibes

It's so fun to do some characters that aren't the ones often seen. It's too bad cute fabric with these less popular characters are so hard to find, though. I saw one Chip & Dale print shared on this thread and would have loved to have some of that. I can't wait to see what you do with yours.

What a great thing you're doing. I'm sure the girls' Dad will love to see his little ones dressed up and the center of attention. The 10 month old probably won't remember the trip but the older one may. My DD wasn't quite 2 when we first went to Disneyland and I hadn't expected her to remember it but she remembered some details afterwards that I'd forgotten. I'm sure the girls will want to look at photos, too, and hear stories of the trip. It will be a way for them to build the connection with their dad even after he's gone. Even though my DD never had a chance to meet her grandparents (both passed away when I was 21), she DD likes to hear stories about them.

I just love seeing all the new things.

Totally OT-
Does anyone know where I can find some Baby Mickey party supplies? I would like to have a first birthday part for my DS with that theme and can not find anything except possible a balloon. I even checked that infamous site....nothing really.
Anyone seen anything anywhere?
Thanks a million:thumbsup2 Maybe PM me if you have any help. I will also keep checking here. I do everyday.

I ended up going to HObby LObby today & looked for the Disney ribbon. They only had one roll & it was clearanced. I asked & they said they had no idea if they would be getting anymore in. It was a full roll & I had to buy the whole thing, so if anyone wants some, lmk.

It's not quite this dark, but I had to kill the flash so I didn't get a glare.

These are the shirts I made for our Crystal Palace lunch. I considered appliquing them, but decided that I didn't want to do that much applique.

I have Halloween twirl tops finished, but dd4 is wearing it to dgm's tonight & I had to fix dd1's where the iron-on applique separated from its backing, if the glue dires before bedtime. I'll put it back on her & take a pic.

I really appreciate everyone comiserating with me about the housework. It's nice to know that I am not the only one who gets overwhelmed.

I went and got my ruffler foot and my serger today. I just need to fold the laundry after the girls go to bed tonight and then tomorrow morning I should be able to get some sewing in until it's time to go help out in my dd's Kind. class in the afternoon. I want to get my Halloween projects finished up. I bought some Christmas fabric for a twirly skirt today. I really shouldn't have, but it was calling my name.

Here is an outfit I made a couple of months ago. I haven't posted it yet because I haven't totally finished it yet. Maybe if I show what I have it will give me a little jump start!

Here's a cheerleading skirt that Drew wore a couple of weeks ago for our mini-cheerleader fundraiser with the High School cheerleaders. I actually made this one 5 years ago when my 10 year old was in Kind. and was a mini-cheerleader.

Now I am bummed because I had to call my older dd a 10 year old! Her B-day was yesterday and I am taking it a little hard that she is in the double diggits now.:scared1:

Here are my latest:

HI - what about an iron on design from the creative designs part of these boards - they do great work over there and have cute holiday designs as well!!

Mytwotinks--
My oldest enters the double digits on Sunday! I know how you feel!

I am still in shock! I am not quite sure how it happened since last time I checked I was still 22. I feel like it anyway.

I am editing this post because I decided to give the minnie dot to the person that's making custom outfits for the daughters of a terminally ill 38 year old. Sorry, I don't think anyone could top that!

I think I missed something! Where is this post?!

I've been trying to stay caught up with this thread! I haven't posted in a while, but still try to peek every day.

Let me just say that all of you continually astound me with your talent and generosity! All of the creations posted are amazing and everyone's kids are so stinkin cute!

What's everyone's kiddos dressing up as for Halloween? I finally got the kids to decide - well, Ella has been consistent in wanting to be a "pwincess" but Caleb wanted to be something different everyday - Chewbacca was the front-runner for a while :rotfl:

So, Caleb has finally committed to being a mummy - he wanted something spooky. So now what does his little sister want to be? Yes, something spooky as well - now she doesn't want to be just a "pwincess" any more, but a scary princess. Ack! How does one accomplish being a scary princess, exactly?

I bought some fabric that will work. I think it may end up being more a cross of a princess/witch.

Anyway, that was long and rambling - sorry! Now I have to go figure out exactly how to make this scary princess costume. . .
