I got my model to cooperate, somewhat. So, here's what I've been working on for the last week or 2 (I can't figure out how some of you whip them up so quickly)!

Very cute! I love the style and your fabric choices! Beautiful set and daughter!

Here is what I accomplished due to the fact that it snowed most of the day Saturday (no yardwork, cancelled soccer games, too cold to go outside etc.) And I did it all without leaving the house. I bought some patterns on YCMT and had the fabric in my stash. I only had one pack of Mickey head scrapbook buttons though, so I thought I'd just stick a yellow one on there until I got back to the store for another set, but now the mismatched look is starting to grow on me. The mini buttons worked perfect for the matching doll outfit. Unfortunately that is her sister's doll. I'm thinking Santa may have to bring her her own Bitty Baby. I took her on errands today and she got a LOT of attention, so I'm wondering if it might be a bit too much. One lady in line at Walmart asked if I made it for her and I said "yes" and she said "I knew you were a good mother!" :confused3 :rotfl:

At least I got her to look at the camera! She never holds still. I took the first picture and she yelled "TA DAH!"

What a cutie! Love the outfit too!

Did you say snow? And I still am wearing shorts and sweating in 90 degree temps? All I want is some typical fall weather and you get snow!

SHHHH!!!! I'm still hoping the weather holds for the next month, we go to WDW Oct. 26th and I'd like to get some pool time in!!! Then it can cool down- gladly!
...t.

I sent a PM to someone and accidentally told her the wrong pattern number for a jumper top. It was butterick 3477. But I told her Simp. 3477. Yikes! Whoever you are, I am sorry. I hope you see this as I emptied out my PM account and have no way to reach you!

Wow what adorable little girls!
:cutie: :cutie: :cutie:
The latest outfits are so cute. Heathersue I love your outfit and the little poodle just adds the right touch. I like the colors of those fabrics.

my*2*angels Welcome to the board. I love the matching Ariel outfits. The crown on the shirts is a great idea. Very pretty colors.

jham your little girl looks like a beautiful doll! She is just adorable.

Spongie your little girl is so pretty and I love her dress. She did a great job designing it.

MoeFam your outfits are adorable. I love the Smocket it looks pretty easy. It looks like it would have a good twirl factor.

   (three minimum) Great outfits.

As for the laundry, I wash it :laundy: but I don't always fold it :lmao:

hi aimeeg!!

i did a pillowcase dress as my first thing, it was soooooo easy, and the girls got comments on the simple dress - give it a try!!!!

now i want to try a twirl skirt, still working up the nerve - got some fabric today, but just dont understand the whole ruffler foot thing!!!!

here is hannah in her minnie pillowcase dress!! the black minnie head, is actually one those patches that you can iron on to mend jeans and stuff, then i made a little polkadot bow and just hand stitched it on - the ruffle at the bottom was bought premade off a bolt at walmart and the rickrack was in a package - all simple!!!

cute pictues! Your kids are adorable!

I bought some and was wondering if anybody has some handy hints. I know CastleCreations had a whole bunch of things to say about it, but can't seem to get the search function to work. I need it to glue down an applique on Bonnie's dress. It just won't stay ironed on. Don't want it to peel off next week!Anyone?

O.k., here's my sewing question...........

How do you guys stay motivated to keep sewing all of the time and who's doing your laundry while you sew?????????????:confused3

I absolutely love to sew, but I am bad about getting a project started because I always think that everything has to be in order before I can start and well, that just never happens. I thought that I would get to sew sooooo much once Drew started Kindergarten, but it appears that after 10 years of having preschoolers in my house I have lost the ability to focus on a task for more than 15 minutes. Seriously though, I am going to get myself organized and get sewing!

I have spent the first few weeks of my "kid free days" meeting friends for lunch and socializing. Now I am ready to get to work! Any tips on how you guys stay organized at home that help you have time to sew will be very appreciated.

I am getting off the computer and heading to the sewing machine store. I had my serger serviced and I am so excited because they were able to fix it! I "ran over" my zipper foot about a year and half ago and it totally jammed up. I also ordered a ruffler foot for my sewing machine that they got in. Hopefully my new tools will get me psyched up to get working on the 500 projects that I have bought fabric for!

I remember somebody in college saying that when they run out of clean underwear and don't do their laundry they just turn it inside out and wear it again!   You could always try that! Just joking, I can't even believe that I wrote that! I try to do two loads of laundry a day to keep up with the clothes, sheets, towels, nap mats, etc. Of course, some days I don't do any and then I have to play catch up, but if I do two I can stay ahead of it. I also set aside one day a week to really deep clean (Mondays while the girls are at preschool and I can get something done!) and pick up every day after they go to bed. It is hard!

Hey everyone! I have really enjoyed checking out all the new outfits and pics! I just started sewing last month- and am using the Singer Esteem from Target ( which I got on sale!!)

Sorry to bombard with pics- but here are some things I have done. Thanks everyone for the inspiration and encouragement!

Thanks for letting me share!

Wow, beautiful job! You're way better than me!

I am editing this post because I decided to give the minnie dot to the person that's making custom outfits for the daughters of a terminally ill 38 year old. Sorry, I don't think anyone could top that!

I haven't been on this thread in a long time so I have no idea if anyone else has posted this recently, and I don't want to spend forever checking so I will just post it anyway. I just got 2 of the cutest Disney fabrics at JoAnn's. I got dancing princesses on a blue background and Mickey on a dark blue background. I was so excited because I have had a hard time finding fabric. They had several princess and Pooh fabrics as well as Tink and Mickey. If anyone is looking now seems to be a good time.

For Christmas my cousin (just joined the marines and newly on his own) asked for socks from everyone. He said his goal was to get 365 pair so he would just wear one pair every day and not worry about clean or dirty or missing socks. I thought this sounded like a good plan.

When I lived in an apartment and had to use the basement laundry, I went through a period where I'd rather buy more panties than do laundry. I don't remember how many pair I ended up having but let's just say I've lived in my home for more than 7 years and haven't had to buy new the whole time. In fact I'm probably set for the next 15 years.

BTW - Nothing wrong with your DD in PJs all day. In winters past my DD and I would often stay in PJs all day changing only after bathtime - when we'd put on clean PJs. :) They're warm and comfortable so perfect for days when we stayed home and it was too cold or wet for her to play outside. Last year I made her some cute lounge sets that were just basic pants with ruffles at the hem and tees with simple appliques on them (like a heart). They didn't look like PJs so they were fine to wear if we had to run to Walmart or Joanns. For me it's all about comfort.

Ok HeatherSue, you finally made me post on this thread!:yay:
I've been reading it since the beginning but only sew a little and my daughter is 18 yrs old. Waiting for grandkids (hopefully waiting until she finishes college) to sew some of these beautiful creations!

However, I was just at WalMart today looking for the minnie dot fabric and they had none. A young family in our neighborhood is heading to Disney World for a first and last trip (very sad story, dad who is only 38 has terminal lung cancer and his two little girls are only 10 months and 24 months old). So, I thought I'd alter some overalls for these little girls. I'll send you a PM.

Even though I haven't sewn any of the beautiful things all of you have made, I really enjoy looking at it!:cheer2: Way back when the thread started and my daughter was still home and in high school, I used to call her over to the computer to show her all of your cute daughters and clothing. I did use the hairbow tutorials to make her some corker bows to wear to the football games!

And, here a few non-sewing tips: (1) if you want to know when a certain seller lists something on ebay, add them to your Favorite Sellers list. You can get automatic notification by e-mail. :wizard: (2) if you want the joann's/micheals/hooby lobby coupons, you can go to their websites and sign up for their emails. They'll e-mail you more coupons than you can use!:rotfl:

Keep up the good work!:thumbsup2

That is so super nice of you to think of another family. I think anything you can do to make their trip special will be greatly appreciated. I wish I could hug you

Is there anyone out there that really wants some Minnie dot fabric, but hasn't been able to find any? If so, send me a PM!

I'd like to spread a little pixie dust and give away 3 yards of Minnie dot to someone. I'll select a name from my PMs tomorrow at 5:00pm if I get more than one person interested.
that is awesome and very sweet of you..:goodvibes
