Amy it was a 10 inch cake and I paid $85.00 for it. You only have your 21st birthday once so I figured it was worth it. She loved it, and that more than made it worth it.

okay i am finished . here is what i have been working on for the DCA Halloween treat party. just don't look to hard it was my first attempt at mickey/minnie heads..

what do you think any suggestions on what i could do to make it better or should i just leave it like it is?

Those are some pretty good looking pirates!! How long did it take you to finish these? Have a wonderful time at DCA!!!

Cutest kids! Our family is going to be a bunch o'pirates for the DCA Halloween treat party too! When are you going to be there? We are going over Utah Escapes to Anaheim aka UEA (for you non-Utahn's it's a 2 day fall break from school and actually stands for Utah Education Association). Your costumes all turned out great! Mine are boring store-bought (with the exception of my puffy shirt) before I joined this inspiring bunch of sewing people.

we will be there from the 21st of oct to the 27th we do the halloween treat on thurs the 26th.. i love that Utah Escapes to Anaheim my kids go off track tomorow and then when we leave they are back on they will miss 1 wk of school oh well it's there 1st time ever..

My kids hunt. I am an avid anti hunter, anti gun person (yep and married to a cop for 15 years.) I tried every persuasion I could think of to get them not to hunt. So I finally gave in and they can duck/goose hunt. Only after they passed a hunters safety course, and they had to be 10. People here start EARLY!! DH's family owns a small hunting lodge on an island about 20 miles south of here. Anyway, 4 generations go together. I try to tell myself, that is a good thing. We do have a very firm rule though. They are not allowed to talk about it in front of me, and it cannot be eaten in my home, and everything they kill must be eaten. Worse thing though...oldest just loves to hunt. He desperately wants to hunt Bambi. Yes girls Bambi. So in 6th grade I told him "If you get on the headmasters list all 4 terms of every year of middle school, you can hunt dear." So guess what...now I'm hating myself. I mean come on with all of those teenage hormones over a span of three years wouldn't you think in one class he would have gotten below a 93%??? Well I did, and was sadly wrong. So now I kick myself. Hunting is a big way of life here on the Eastern Shore though. When I was growing up, I had the only father who didn't hunt. So now my son is gonna hunt, I will be a nervous wreck!

I personally think they are fantastic! Leave them alone, the kids are so adorable!

Momma Pooh 217 I love all of your outfits! The girls are beautiful and the clothes are adorable. I can't let my DD4 see the Lilo and Stitch outfit though, she loves that movie and is craving a pair of Lelli Kelly's. I think Santa is going to bring her a pair. She keeps seeing their commercial and HAS to have a pair. She even recognizes them on other little girls. Gotta love the power of advertising. I'd take the tv away but then I'd never get anything done!

I love ribbon jeans. My DD wore her ribbon capri's to preschool today! Great job!

I saw a variation of ribbon jeans/skirt on ebay a few years ago where the maker of them actually sewed the ribbon to one side of a piece of velcro and put the other side of the velcro inside of the jeans/skirt with a piece of white or neutral color ribbon on the outside so that you could change the look of the jeans w/o having to use a new pair of jeans/skirt. I keep thinking I'm going to try that but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

To help get us to 1000 pages, I've finally gotten my pics ready for viewing. This is from our August trip.

My girls in their matching Minnie dresses. Me in my Minnie top. And DS in his Mickey shorts and shirt.

DD4 in her Nemo twirl skirt and top. DS1 in Nemo shorts and shirt. Waiting for others on the Dinosaur ride at AK.

DD5 in her Nemo twirl skirt and top. DN6 in her princess overalls. And DS again. They were waiting for us to come off of Dinosaur. DD5 is showing some leg!

Getting ready for the Pirate & Princess Party. DS has on overalls. His material and the hidden Mickey on the back of my shirt are the same. The rest of the girls have the pirate fabric. DD5 and DD4 have Minnie dots and tulle under their pirate skirts. DN10's is a dress. Shirred all around. DN5 has a top that ties in the back. My top is shirred in front.

Captain Jack Sparrow. DN10, DN6 and DD4. You can see the back of DN6's top that I made. She was a last minute add on and that's what I whipped up for her. It ties in the back.

Well, Makayla wanted to wear pants...I made this one piece little number that you step into and it buttons at the top. Made an XL infant, but it is rather big on her. I felt like I should have added more, and considered putting Mickey gloves on the butt, but never got to it. But she was comfy.

She was picked to be Mrs. Potts today in Belle's Storybook time at MK. It was too cute...except that she stood up there picking her nose...oh, 2 year olds...but it was really sweet...she is such a little acress...

It was very hot today...and as the day went by her hair got curlier and curlier. One more day with my little angel...

Thrashers are a local Maryland treat. They are french fries from Ocean City. Delish!!!
