Oh, you will just love the princesses. Each one has a unique personality. Ariel is a scream...she is really naughty and just like she was in the movie...doing things HER way...Alice was sweet. Cinderella had the dearest little sweet voice. Makayla was in love with each one. They wouldn't have even had to feed me...it was such a great time for us...what memories we will have for many years to come! Have a wonderful time. Oh, by the way, I was so surprised. I didn't see any little girls in princess dresses...maybe because it was so late. Our ADR was for 7:55pm. I am used to seeing the princess buffet at the Grand Floridian...every little girl is dressed up.

I am so happy I made these little outfits for Makayla. It just makes the trip more special...Oh, I will have to take a photo of the autograph book I made her....it is sweet...

Well, I better get off to sleep.. big day tomorrow...

 Susan

I don't have but a minute as I am on lunch at work and spent most of it catching up on this thread! I wanted to say you guys have been doing GREAT work lately!!!

I am glad you had a great time at this dinner - ours was the pits - the princesses were rushed and the service was terrible! They each spent maybe a minute with DD and DS it was more of a Hi, what a pretty dress, lets take a picture, bye kinda thing... we have had the BEST dinner at garden grill!!!! (no princesses though :( ) It's good to know someone had a great time there!!! :)

There have been so many beautiful things posted I want to comment on. I first wanted to take the time to reply to everyone who complimented my tutu outfit and my DD's. I have been with out computer for 2 days  and now I have no phone for 7 business days    I had to dig the old desk top out of storage and hook it up so I could be connected with the world. It is not good for one mom to be stuck in the house with three kids to home school, a toddler and no contact with the outside :lmao: It was getting dangerous in here!

hi - I’ve been wondering about these tu tu's - do you use the rolls of the material, or do you get it off the bolt? How do you know how much? soooo cute!!!
:thumbsup2

For this tutu I used the tulle by the yard. I do not suggest this method :) The tulle is very hard to cut, and keep even. I did use a rotary cutter, which did help. The tulle on the roll was much easier to cut.

I ended up cutting this tulle 6 inches wide and 20 inches long. I wanted it to be about 10 inches long since I was going to be putting the jeans under it. I just cut as much as I had and started there. For the first tutu I made I used 4- 25-yard rolls of tulle and it was perfect. I put two layers together and the tie it to the elastic. They have both turned out very full this way.

The outfit is adorable.
You are in OHIO?!
What cheer gym does your daughter go to? If you work for the OSU games, then might it be the Cheer Center?
I used to coach cheerleading in Pickerington and also up in NE Ohio-coached for 12 years. I also judge competitions, but I am taking a long break to be home with the kids because, to coach a great cheer team, you need alot of time and I just don't have that with my 3 boys right now;) . Anyway, I do know those colors to be of the Cheer Center but maybe there is another Cheer Gym near central Ohio with those colors too.
BTW, her scorpion looks fantastic!!:thumbsup2

We are Cheer Center Stars :cheer2: What gym were you at in Pickerington? Matrix!? You are not kidding about needing a lot of time to coach a great team. I think our coach would be better of to live there. Not only does he coach; he teaches classes and does several privates (including ours) every week.

Oh, but the fulls are awesome, esp the great ones!! I love X-outs and nice layout stepouts too. Good for her! You'll have to keep me updated on how she is doing!!

I just learned about X outs  I thought I would get a break after fulls. She is so determined to get all of these skills it just amazes me. At the beginning of last season she fell at tryouts doing her back handspring. Now she does multiple handsprings, tucks, standing tucks, layouts, front walkovers and is really close to her full. She is a beautiful tumbler, she has so much power she kind of soars in the air while she flips. Her layout is my favorite to watch for some reason. Her coach said it is as close to a perfect layout as she can get.

What a cutie! I like that the cast coordinates!

And, Yes! You're darn tootin' I would have cut the tulle for my daughter! I laughed when I saw my named mentioned!

I don't think I am ready for my baby to do anything remotely close to your daughter's scorpion. Looks great though!

I never even doubted that you would have cut that tulle with a smile :) Well, at least started with a smile. There was a lot of tulle!

I was not ready for Leanne to do these things either. However, she was and once they hit a certain age they get things set in their little heads and there is no stopping them. It happened before I knew it anyway.

I love her face and the colors of the shirt, tutu and jeans. Purple is my absolute fav color! How smart of you to get a matching cast!!

It was all Katie’s doing :) When the lady who put her cast on came in the room with color samples she handed them to Katie and asked what color she wanted. With out missing a beat Katie said "purple".

I would have preferred something that coordinated better with the new fall line at Gymboree :rotfl:

Her scorpion is gorgeous. I am a cheerleading judge. I coached for 9 years before the girls came along. What level does her team compete at? Tell her good luck on her full.

Thank you so much. She has worked so hard on that his summer. She based last year. This is her second year of competitive cheer. She competes at a level 3 youth right now. They are considering going to a level 4 since more than 50% of the girls have a standing tuck. So Leanne has been working on doubling down as well. He coaches keep saying she is a natural  What company do you judge? Jamfest is my favorite.

Your tutu custom is too too cute!!! what a great job...and the cuffs on the pants....I saw instructions to do this at Joann's using ribbon and velcro...is that what you did?

My DD was a cheerleader and those stunts have always scared me. She was a base and got kicked in the face, mouth so many times. And when you think of her holding another girl on her shoulders and the pressure on her spine...there I go again, being a nurse....but your daughter's position is just perfect....I miss those days....

Susan

Thanks for the compliments on Katie’s outfit. I didn’t really have instructions on the pants. I just kind of winged it! What I did was cut the ribbon to the correct length (I doubled it), then I pinned it in place and stitched it on with my machine. I then added the top ribbon that went around the leg, in a pattern I liked. They were so easy. She wore them to all of Leanne's cheer comps last year and I had people stop me all of the time to ask where got them.

Cheer stunts scare me to death also. I really do not get to see DD "fly" a lot. They have closed practices, so I can't really even watch there. I think the true fear will come at the competitions. I remember how nervous I was with her being a base. I can imagine it will be 10X's worse with her in the air. She did get hurt a few times as a base, but in level 2 mini there was not a lot more than a basket toss.

I also wanted to say that Makayla's outfits are just beautiful. It looks like your family is having a wonderful time on vacation.

Thanks again everyone for the thoughtful comments on my customs and my kids. It is always so nice to get such warm feed back.

I bought this on valdemort for $35 I think and I love it. The face is padded and there are bows on the back pocket...I didn't want to put a ribbon around her neck, but she insisted...

How do I make the pictures smaller to post? I am lucky I figured out photobucket!

Chef Mickey this am and we got to sit in this little room I never saw before, you stepped up a few steps and there were windows with a view of the castle!! I loved it!

Now to Mickey's backyard BBQ. I heard good and bad...but the good is that for a 2 year old it is fun...she loves to dance with the characters...so it will be worth it!

Love to all
Susan

Now to Mickey's backyard BBQ. I heard good and bad...but the good is that for a 2 year old it is fun...she loves to dance with the characters...so it will be worth it!

Susan

Just to let everyone know. The BBQ was our families favorite event. The video we have of our DD dancing was priceless! The food is good. DH loved the all you can eat ribs and the kids loved the all you can eat Mickey Ice Cream Bars. The BBQ is wonderful! (We do not like country music or line dancing and still had a great great great time!!)

OT.....what time did you get there? It is supposed to start at 6:30, but I read they let you in at 6 and to be there at 5:30...what's the scoop?

After seeing the comments and wonderful pictures of the Princess Storybook Dinner, I had to post pictures of Tessa when we went in Feb. 2006 (she was 2).

Eating bread instead of looking at Belle:

Eating turkey instead of looking at Aladdin (Mommy was looking though- Woo-hoo!!):

Drinking milk instead of looking at Mulan:

Finally, she stopped eating to see Jasmine (she gave her a hug, too):

Later on, she talked about how much she loved seeing all the princesses, but she was a little star struck at the time! :rotfl:

If you're interested in seeing more of our pictures from Disney, here's the link. The first pictures are from a trip that Tessa and I took with my mom when I was pregnant with Sawyer in 2006. The older pics are from our last 14 family member trip in 2004 when Tessa and Lydia were only a year old:HeatherSue's Disney pics

Yes, I made the skirt.

It is a patchwork skirt. Each tier is double the length of the previous one.

So, If you use 4 inch patches in the first tier, the second tier's patches would be 8 inches each, and the third tier would be 16 inches each. Of course, add your seam allowance to each patch.

I use a rotary cutter with a quilt square on a cutting mat. Makes cutting a breeze.

Hope this helps!

AHA! Now that is helpful! I just finished piecing together 140 3" squares for DD2's little Halloween twirl skirt. :scared1:

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had 10 pages of replies on multi-quote and they are all gone!!

Suffice it to say that I think all of the outfits that have been posted have been absolutely wonderful!!!

OT.....what time did you get there? It is supposed to start at 6:30, but I read they let you in at 6 and to be there at 5:30...what's the scoop?

I would get there at 5:30. Even though you already paid you have to get your tickets from the ticket line. Also, there is a little beach and a nice playground to keep McKayla happy.

Very cute! I love the coordinating outfits. Did you use a pattern on the skirt?

No I did not have a pattern I kinda just went with it as I went along. I am just so glad they turned out ok and the girls loved them. They didn't twirl as much but it was my first try. Thanks.

Has anyone come up with any kick butt halloween costumes for this year? I need something for my 3yo dd. We always do the town costume contest.

I keep coming back to those fairy costumes that are full length tulle. Has anyone seen directions for them?

I just wanted to take a moment to publicly thank Nana!

Thank you so much for the very kind email! You saved my bacon!!! I really appreciate how you took the time out of your day to help me. I means a lot.

Thanks Again- Aimee

I finished my pirate princess and boo skirts finally!

First these are the first skirts I have made in probably over 10 years. I started with the boo skirt and worked up to the pirate ones.

This is the outfit I did for my oldest DD, the younger one didn't want to participate. I found an orange onesie for her and used the heat bonded gems to spell out BOO! in purple

This is the outfit I made Makayla with that Mickey fabric that wrinkles easily...but it was ok because she is so small that I didn't have to use much...this was a blast and the food was great!!!
