Cool! Thanks and I'll keep an eye out for it!!!
You might like Simplicity Pattern 4206 It is "Sewing Patterns for Dummies" (Not that your a dummy. I wish they would call it Sewing for Beginners or somthing nicer)

Anyways, it is a pattern for a peasant shirt, a twirl skirt, a pair of shorts and a pair of capri pants.

Good Luck getting started!

This is one awesome outfit and very original...Your applique are great and I'm just loving that Boo....

OK, first and foremost: HAPPY BIRTHDAY UtahMAMA! party: Hope you have a great day!

Secondly, I finished the Monsters outfit! Now that it's all finished, though, I wonder if it's too much white? If I should add anything?

Ok I have talked to my mom and she is going to help me. I really want to make some princess overalls for DD. How do I do appliques? Do I buy them already made or can I cut them out from material?

Try this:

http://www.everythingsewing.net/appliquelessonone.htm

I found it in the link posted on the very first post of this thread wayyyyy back on page one. Read everything on applique (in "sewing"). There's so many tips! Off hand I remember the seamstress and Lisa zoe 's tips are helpful. Good luck! Practice first on crappy fabric first and take your time! :cheer2:

Sorry guys - didn't mean to post and run this morning. A friend called and wanted to go out to lunch, so I actually had to tear myself away from the computer, get out of my pj's and we went to Cheesecake Factory! The cheesecake (and my friend, I guess, LOL) was worth getting dressed for!

Answers to some questions:
I bought the Monsters fabric on ebay about a month or so ago. Got a GREAT deal on it, too!

I do my gathering using a ruffler foot. I just got about two weeks ago. It does take some experimentation on stitch length and settings, but it is sooooo worth it!

You all have no idea how much you've made my day! Thanks so very much for all the comments!!! It's one thing to get a "yeah, that's nice" from DH, but it's a whole nother thing to get comments from people who "get it."

I don't know where the OP of the outfit got her Monster's Inc fabric from, but I've got some of that - and another print with a blue background - that I picked up two+ years ago on clearance at a JoAnn's. Don't know what I'll do with it - DD has boycotted Monster's Inc.

I bought some a few months back on clearance at Hancock Fabric. Don't know what to do with it though. Thought I's make something for my boys, but it seems too white for boys? Any ideas?

I don't have that same Monsters fabric, but I have one with a blueish-purple color background and the characters on it. It is really cute, it was at Hancock Fabric in the clearance section

I would love to see a pic of this. Anyone interested in fabric swapping for the whiter Monsters fabric?

Glorib-I love your Monster's Inc. twirl set!! I found the perfect beads to go with it!! Search m@nsters inc.

I've been trying to finish a few projects this week. Here's my DD Minnie dot outfit. The top is shirred.

And her Tink outfit

This is the top to DD's Minnie costume, she'll wear a white puff sleve tee under it and I'm working on a pair of white muslin bloomers that will be trimmed with the same red gingham and eyelet trim...

th_DSCF0974.jpg

I love the daisy trim on this! So perfect for Minnie! Great job on ALL of your outfits!!

(Sash belt - that's always my answer!)

LOL, a sash belt is a cute idea! Thanks!

You all know that I have no little kiddles to make WDW creations for right now (HOWEVER.... we did find out yesterday that my DD that is expecting is having a baby BOY!!! Yipppeeeee! Gotta watch oput for those boy designs now!) SO....... I decided to go "Boo-tique" on my apron designs! While it's not Disney..... it is fun!

My DD is a fllight attendant for SWA and is always in need for a non boring, non SWA apron for work. I made this Halloween Apron for her to use while she is flying.

Hope it's ok to share! You all have been so great sharing all your creations and I just wanted to show you how you've influenced this ol' grandma!

Cute! I LOVE aprons!

My Hancock had the Monster's fabric a few weeks ago. It was not clearance.

I reorganized the folders to make it easier for everyone. It was too much of a pain to flip through 50 pages to find the one outfit you were looking for. For the boys specifically I moved all the pictures to merge with the girls. It was hard to separate out the boys outfits since almost 50% of the pictures also had a girl (usually sister) in the picture with them. Since many of the outfits can be adapted to boy or girl I just merged them. But I promise that all the pictures are still there. Just look under the specific character. Most of the boys stuff was either mickey or pixar in nature. I bust my hump to keep that site up and to make everyone happy. I hope that it's still works for you.

I think you do a great job and am very grateful for all the work you do!

:thanks:

Ok, these pics aren't too bad considering I had to use my camera instead of dh's, a little light maybe, but oh well... I appliqued Cinderella on this fabric before putting it together to make a peasant top for dd6. I embroidered the face after watching those needlenthread.com video tutorials several times and practicing even more times. I still need lots of practice, but it's not too bad and dd6 loves it! I just hope I can get the peasant top put together without any problems!

I think it looks great! Good job on the face details

Ready for MNSSHP this FRIDAY! I just couldn't resist posting these pics. Our pettiskirt came in today - I can't wait for my DD to wear this!

th_petti2.jpg

That is fabulous! Have fun tomorrow night!

th_IMG_0054.jpg

I had no pattern for this I tried to make a twirl top for my oldest and since I want to surprise her for our day trip to Disneyland on sat I don't have pics of her modeling them.

Good job working without a pattern! We'll just miss you as we'll be at Disneyland Sunday :)

Finally...I got some photos taken of the Diner Costume. This is Irelands costume, but Alexis is wearing it. The pettiskirt cost only 14 dollars!! yea!!

Here is my newest Creation! I have finally mastered these Jumpers! Whew! I like to line them, I think it looks neater and it is softer for the baby! I made this a tad too big. It is a size 2ish and he wears a 18m currently. I am sure shortly it will fit.

Lori

That is so cute! Nice and comfy looking.

I hear ya! My scrapbooking has been taking a beating since I started sewing again! When we get back from Disney - I need to convert - LOL!

Tell me about it! I haven't scrapbooked in forever. My scrapbook corner is now my sewing corner! I keep thinking I can get a page or two done in between sewing projects, but that's when I come on here to catch up!

Okay, got a few more pics that I must share.

Believe it or not, there was not one spec of chocolate on her outfit. I still can't figure that one out.:confused3

Great story! Thanks for sharing the pictures! I just love that outfit.

Nice family picture! You did a great job on the outfits!

OMG That's amazing!!!!!!!!!!! Look at the detail on those appliques!

I found that fabric on clearance at Hancocks a little over a week ago and bought what they had left, about 2.5yds. I have no idea what I'll do with it, but if you don't mind, it will probably be something like yours!

I hope your dd loves it! Very cute!

They all look great so far! Good luck getting the last two outfits done!

Both outfits look good! I really like the use of the yellow button.

Congrats on your 15yo cooperation!!! My dd16 just rolled her eyes when I showed her a red/white dot Gap polo I bought for her to wear to CM?

All of your kids look so cute together![/QUOTE]

i know - i was really surprised - but i had her go to the site where all of the outfits are posted, and she liked the little girls capri's that were simply decorated that way - so it was totally her choice in how it was done, and i even had her sew the pink frill on her shorts herself! it also may have really helped because i am not her mom - but her mom's cousin (they are like neices and nephews to me) - you know how that goes!!! lol!!!
