All I could do was laugh when I saw your reference to me! Or was that of Teresa's old refrigerator?!;) :rotfl:

Of course it was to you! I am not ready for anyone to closely look at my appliqués! I am in awe of you and Aimee and others who have picked it up so quickly.

Too cute!!!! Love it! GO NOLES!!!! I wish I could get FSU fabric around here and/or ribbon to make bows...It's so pricey on "that" site and I know if I were in Tally again I could get it. I'm jealous and your daughter looks like a very bright girl ~ being a FSU fan!

Actually, my parents live in Tallahassee and I have been bugging my mom for months about fabric and she says there is none there either. I don't know why you can get every other college except FSU: it's so annoying. I spent $12 on the seminole head fabric from Voldemort, so this outfit was probably more expensive than those overpriced cheerleading outfits they sell, but I think it was worth it.

Aimee, I grew up in Tallahassee: small world!

I haven't read since last night but I absolutely had to share that I just finished my first appliqué! I am quite pleased with it and think it went well, other than the detail straight stitches. I kept the shape simple, which helped. I used all the tips I've read here and used bobbin thread, heat n' bond lite, and sulky, tear-away stabilizer. I did not use a pressing sheet because neither Joann's I went to seemed to carry it so I guess I'll order it. Anyway, here's the applique, I'll share the full dress later when I have a model for it. Although I like it, do any of you pros see something wrong that I need to do different next time?

That is totally cute! I think you did a great job!

I totally CASEd this from several of you, so I hope that's ok! I'm so excited, because it was my first time cutting into my Minnie dot. Ok, it was the Walmart knockoff, but still I swear I could hear the theme for JAWS as I was cutting it!

I finished my Christmas outfit for Emma. Thanks to all of you for your input. I went out and bought all the good stuff for appliquing onto Tshirts and it worked like a dream!

Wow, your applique work looks great! That is beautiful!

Not quite sure which picture I had on there last but thanks!! I have already shared the pic of her preschool dress but here she is on her very first day (Thursday).

With her cousin Catherine on their 1st day of preschool.

FYI...ever since the day I finished this dress, she has had to wear it EVERYDAY. She wore this dress 8 days straight (I had to sneak and wash it several times)!!!!! She looooooves it that much! I'm about finished with another one so people will know she owns different clothes!

What a cute story: that's so nice when they love what you make. She is precious!

Both of these turned out great! The basic t-shirt is so pretty with the lace...did you do that too?

I wasn't the one who made these, but I have a few of these shirts. You can buy them from Waldemort. They come in different colors. They are on clearance right now, so if you want some, you better hurry!

Just wanted to share pictures of the painted Cinderella overalls I won last year on Voldemort for 20 bucks. They are faded in spots, but still cute. I think I will re do the ruffle at the bottom to make them look newer as well.

Good morning! I stayed up entirely too late (with the aid of a little cherry coke zero) to finish this little AK outfitfor DD.

The trim at the bottom is a kind of taffeta fabric I think with raised, velvety feeling stripes. It's very cool - I found it in the remnants at JoAnn a while back and had to have it!

Oh, those Cinderella overalls are so cute! Twenty bucks! That's awesome!

The Coke Zero phenom is spreading:cutie:

I love your outfit. We have some of the same fabrics for our AK outfits. You did a really great job!!!

I like all of the different animal prints together. The trim looks great! A "touch and feel" dress, how cute. Now we gotta make outfits three dimensional????:scared1: :scared1:

How clever! I love it. What pattern did you use for the skirt itself? I love the layered look of the lining, netting and then the print. I want to try something similar but havent figured out how just yet. I am still a newbie ;)

I used Simplicity 3836 for the skirt. And for the petals, I used Butterick 6660, but instead of putting the petals on a ribbon, I used the waistband from the Simplicity. I had enough green fabric left over, I think I might make her shorts to use to.

THIS is the money shot! LOOK at her attitude....like she OWNS the catwalk! :tink:

I totally love the different looks with this one skirt!
Really cute!

She is a stage ham. She did her recital in Ballet 2 years ago, and she keeps asking when she can get back on stage. Now she's in cheerleading, and loves to get in front of the crowd. Not that there is a huge crowd at midget football. I guess she's an actress in the making.

Very cute, and I think having 2 looks is a great idea! Did you embroider Tink on the shirt?

It's a purchased applique by Wrights. I do have the Disney embroidery machine, but I don't have the Tink program "yet". Kirsta and I love Tink.

I bet you he thought he was being all slick too. Hannah keeps on going back and forth from Sleeping Beauty to Dorothy. It changes everyday!!!

One of my twins (serena) wants to be sleeping beauty. Im working on her costume right now. At least I should be, but im here on the DIS board. :rolleyes1 I'll post when its done!

That looks great! I can't see anything that I would say to do differently. Just keep going on the way you are and you'll be ready for princesses in no time!

Oh I love Pysch! Both of the main characters are great (and the actors are very cute). I love the little "out-takes" at the end of the episodes... like this week's when they were singing Caribbean Queen while floating in water. LOL Please tell your friend to keep up the good work! I hope following Monk really helps Psych get the attention (and ratings) it deserves.

Thanks Lisa! My next goal is Daisy Duck since that would still deal with larger pieces. Glad you like Psych too! I agree on the actors, the two of them are hilarious. My friend is the creator, and also one of the writers, though he doesn't always do the writing. The theme song is his band The Friendly Indians so we never fast-forward the theme song like we do on most tv shows :) I rarely get to see him anymore as we don't live too close and he's busy working, but I'm so darn proud of him I hope he has great a good long career.

That is totally cute! I think you did a great job!

Thanks so much!

I really like that, good job! Where did you find the giraffe fabric? I want to use it DD2's AK dress as well.

That is so cute! I love all the animal prints. I'll admit after seeing so many cute sets made with the Minnie dot and animal prints that I'm going to be working on my own set using similiar combinations. :) Not quite CASE but definitely a lot of borrowed inspiration. :goodvibes

Real quick her is the mermaid costume. We leave in 26 minutes so I gotta run!

Thanks! It looks pretty easy too, which is a bonus for me!
