OMG - how much work went into that?!?!?!? It looks spectacular!!!

My glory, you could have ....well, you know....I can't imagine they let you go home so soon...I would have thought they would have kept you monitored for 48 hours. Please take care of yourself. Did they do orthostatic blood pressures? Meaning, laying, then sitting and then standing to make sure you were stable enough to go home? You are so young for all this mess... Susan
ohhhhhhhhhhh, they were gonna hold me longer. BUT if they had tried, it would have worsened my stress levels. I had outfits at home, that needed completing, d@rn-it-all! ;)

Yes, I think they did that "orthostatic" BP checks.
Before that, I didn't know that your blood pressure CHANGES when you lay down, sit up or stand = gravity vs heart-pumping, I guess ... (?!)
yeah, they did everything except make me run / walk fast on the treadmill ... They called it a "Stress-test" ... I talked them into letting me do that, later, at the cardiac-specialists' office, as an outpatient ...
They did ekg's every-everyother hour AND had me on a heart monitor ... they did chest xrays, and a mri (or a cat scan, I always get those mixed up), and a ton of blood work (hourly draws at one point).

Within 4-5 hours, right after that first incident, I was feeling "fine-enough" = I'm still feeling about the same.
It was / is like general "crudiness" all over.
+ a continuous annoying "pressure" on my center/upper chest = like someone heavy stood on my chest for 4 hours = almost like a bad bruise.
+ when I walk up & down our stairs (even slowly) my legs go a bit numb & ache AND I get winded ........
It's almost like I aged 20-30 years overnight.
They still don't know for sure what happened.

WOW! VERY BEAUTIFUL!

Deb, I hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question but, did you remember to add your seam allowance? When I have traced off an existing piece of clothing I draw it out with disappearing ink and then use my ruler to go around and draw out my 5/8" allowance.
Yes, I did add a seam allowance. Traced it, used my ruler to add 5/8", and away I went.

I can't get the side seams (where the front bodice joins to the back bodice) right. Somehow I'm tracing angles and shorter when they should be straighter and longer.

I even thought of pulling the bodice off another pattern, but I don't have any others that are simple pull-overs (no buttons, zippers, crossed backs).

OK, I admit. I'm not very good with that 5/8" seam thing. Mine, well, floats, which is probably why I can't pull a pattern off the finished side of the bodice.

WOW That is fabulous. how much time did that take.

Since everybody is sharing pics of there pets I thought I would share some too.
This is my ds' dog, Patches. He is a 5 year old Lab/Dalmatian mix. We brought him home 4 weeks before Gladys was born.

ah patches is adorable. He looks so cute and happy.

DS wanted to take the kitten home with us- He said he didn't want a pet dog anymore.

that is an amazing cat. my cat when I was young would let me carry her around like that and dress her up. love that kitty

WOW, those bling Mickey ears are great. Would love to see more pics.

And I am happy to know that the brown sparkle fabric search has ended successfully. Now, Heather go finish that dress so we can all be duly impressed.

Could the maker of the white tutu with the roses at the waist please answer a few questions....

Are the roses all the way around?
How did you attach the bow- does it go all the way around too?

I am dying to CASE that for my daughter!!! Thank you!!

That would be me! The roses are all the way around the waistband. I used roses that I purchased as WalMart that came on a card with only the heads of the flowers on them. They are in the craft section, they come on a card with maybe 9 or 12 flowers on a card. I glued them on with e6000 adhesive. The ribbon is just tied on to the elastic. It is just tied between two strips of tulle. Very simple, but great effect, I think.

Feel free to CASE away!

I haven't shared pics in a while, so I though I'd share something that I've actually been working on. Simple set, but will be really comfy for the holidays. Sorry no model. She's napping.

I need to take a few more pics, and I'll share later.

In addition to not needing to apologize for kids' hair and OT posts on this thread, I think we need to add not apologizing if we can't respond to every post or photo shared! I'd love to comment on each post and photo but then I'd have nothing to share myself. LOL

I will add my "WOW" about the blinged Mickey Ears! I can't even imagine the patience to sew all those on. I think I'd have resorted to E6000 and bigger jewels. ;)

Speaking of sharing, I finally tried one of the patterns from the Ottobre Design magazine I mentioned a couple weeks ago. I wanted to make a fall set for Zoe so decided I'd get both done in the process. It's not quite done (need buttons and button holes) and I'm not sure what top she'll wear with it but I think it's wearable. I already plan to tweak the design a bit the next time because the back flounces don't flounce enough. :rotfl: Also the front is pretty plain but I didn't want to get too fancy until I decided if I liked the style on her or not.

The princesses in my house would freak over something like that. About how long did it take you to attach all of the rhinestones? And if you don't mind me asking about what did it cost you to buy the rhinestones?

Hi ladies!

We just got back and I wanted to share a few pictures with everyone! :)

Minnie Dot dress---This was the EASIEST thing to create...Took about 2 hours and $10 worth of fabric. Such an easy outfit to keep cool in! I can't find a picture of the front of the dress, though!

That's it for now!

All of your outfits are adorable, but these have got to be my favorites.

I've been waiting to hear what you thought about that magazine. Was the pattern easy to understand? I'm seriously thinking I may need to check this out.

HEY! I just saw a very familiar dress that was made by one of our favorite guys on this thread! On another board that I'm on, there is a header that shows different items from the famous :wizard: site that are among the top viewed items. I'm reading along, and look up, and THERE IT IS! The really cute white halter dress with pink & green mickey heads & ric-rac! It's famous! And to think I knew it before it was ever worn!

awww, Thanks! :flower3:
Sorry about dropping out on the thread for a little while ...

I got busy with halloween outfits. + I wasn't feeling well for quite awhile.
Then, about 4wks ago, I was in the hospital for 2 days & a night = a "suspected minor cardiac infarction" ... nice, huh?!

We still don't know what caused it.
One morning after putting my 5yr old the bus, I SUDDENLY felt super-yicky, started passing in&out, left shoulder/arm hurt, I went NUMB all over, had troubles breathing, etc ... This had never happened to me before.
10 minutes later, I kept getting worse = so, I went to go to the ER.
As I was trying to get there, I fell down 1/2 a flight of stairs & fell out of the car. I was really weak & numb = I couldn't control my body/legs.

At the ER, we found out my BP was at 40/30 & 50/30! (usually I have HIGH Blood Pressure, we keep it well regulated, though)

Basically, my body was going into SHOCK ...
ekg's were off, but enzyme tests came back fine. (that's good!)
+ it was not a panic attack & I didn't double my HBP meds.
blood sugar was a tad high & iron was a tad low ...
neither really explained all of this mess!
They shipped me to the cardiac ward for observation.
Thankfully, the "incident" did not repeat!
Even as I left as an outpatient, they didn't know much more, but scheduled a ton of tests, for later.
Hopefully, we'll figure it out soon! :)!

I'm only 37 ... with NO intentions of leaving my babes without a mommy, NOR setting a new family record for youngest heart attack/death.

I still feel a bit yicky 24-7 ... + I can't even think of being more active = standing, walking makes me feel worse.
I am just taking everything ALOT EASIER/SLOWER now!
I hate it, but have no choice ... for now.

Sooooooooo ...
MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE TO HUG & SMOOCH YOUR LITTLE ONES, ALL THE TIME!
& Take Care of Yourselves!

So glad you're back and take care of yourself! I'm going to hug and kiss my girls as soon as I'm done posting! Medical things are so scary!

Well I have some prego pics to post, I haven't dug out my wedding pics yet,
because that means I need to scan them and then upload...not today!
I am too lazy!!! Ok these pics are from last summer when my DS was born.

A week and a half before I had my DS.
th_PIMG2701_005.jpg

And because I love you all so much, either that or I must be drunk!!!!
Two days before my DS was born and the last time that I wore a bikini!!!:lmao:

th_IMG_2748.jpg

Here is my hospital pic, only a few minutes after my 9 pounder was born
(and I was induced almost 2 weeks early because my middle child was 9lb8oz!!!)

th_PIMG2926_039.jpg

You look fabulous! And you must love us a lot! Very brave, but as someone said, I'd be brave too if I looked that good! My first DD was 9 lb 1 oz, second was 7 lb 14 oz and induced early. I never thought I was going to be "right" after the first one though! Sorry if that's TMI!

HELP!!
I REALLY hope someone can help me here! I ran out of the dark brown sparkly fabric I used to make the ruffles on this bodice:
th_Cinderelladresbodice.jpg

I still need to make a really long ruffle all around the bottom of the skirt. So, I went to all 3 of our local WalMarts and NO ONE has the brown sparkly fabric left!!! Does anyone on here happen to have 1/2- 1 yard of this fabric that they would sell to me? Please!!

I don't know if you've found any (6 pages behind) but I'll take a look at my Wal-Mart to see if they have any. I'm there everyday anyway!
