Kids Disney Boutique / Customs Clothes Part 4

Yeah, I've tried to get my husband to sell off just 1 of his 4 guitars but uh, he said no:rotfl:
This is the part where my not being a packrat is a disadvantage. I throw EVERYTHING away. We do airconditioning and my husband has been holding on to every spare piece of copper he can to cash in. I'm hoping that will get us around $400-if my brother in-law doesn't weasle the last unit we changed out out of my parents....that's another can of worms:mad: I wish I sewed well enough to sell my stuff, it is I think a goal of every crafter to someday make money w/ your talent, but I am still cultivating this one.
We are definitely doing a shoestring budget the next 17 days...we ate at my grands on sat, his moms sun. I cooked chicken mon- heated up leftovers today, got leftovers from my grand just now for tomorrow and scored cookies and 1/2 pound of turkey lunch meat. I am such a mooch. No, they were all offered cause everyone knows it's tight and we have WDW coming up.

The room- paid for by my in-laws(we're sharing a suite at the mariotte)

Thanks guys for understanding and advising... sounds like I'm not the only one who lives w/ a husband who is easily defeated. Thanks for the commiseration!!! It's nice to know we're not alone.

Standing by the dock in the pm..that's a good tip to know!!!:thumbsup2

LU2GO2IDISNEY: I feel ya sister.. I turned 30 in August and all I wanted all summer was enough $$$ to cruise to the bahamas for 2 days which is pretty cheap from FL. but DH wouldn't consider it. I am planning a cruise for next year no matter what. I'm starting saving as soon as we get past christmas.!!!

You guys are the best!!!:grouphug:

Great pictures!! Hey, the fabric in that last skirt looks familiar! I couldn't find the cat fabric when I made Tessa's decoupage jeans and matching shirt, though.
Thanks! Did you need a little more fabric? I haven't finished the top yet but I think I will have some left over.

My DH and I took our daughter the month after she turned 2. she will be 5 this December. About a month ago we were at an intersection and a bus drove by. She said to me, "remember when you and daddy and i were on the bus?" i asked her what she meant. she went on to explain the bus with mickey mouse on it and inside there was a picture of bear in the big blue house. she told me all these details about it. then she proceeded to talk all about the trip.

Personnally i couldn't be happier that she has these memories. especially now that we have lost my husband. it's the little moments like sitting on a bus with him that she can hold on to. people say kids don't remember things...but you know i think it's the opposite. they experience life in a way that we adults should more. they notice the little things and savor them. i think we would all be better suited if we remembered more like a little kid.

maura

Oh wow, what a precious memory for you guys! ((HUGS))

Stephres asked for some more detailed pictures of my CD album, so here you go!

This is the back side of the CD. Again covered with chipboard and paper. ( I just traced the CD on to chipboard and cut it out.)

So cute! Great to see a boy outfit!

This is really pretty! I love, love, love that coordinating purple swirl fabric.

Christmas . . .

My first show is in nine days EEKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!! So my time is super limited. I am finishing a couple outfits for customers, building houses, and have a couple more Halloween things to finish.

I have nine customs planned for Christmas. Somtime today I will take pics of the fabric combos. It will be a good break.

Guess what . . . I did a Candy Corn applique last night too.

Sounds like you are one busy lady! I miss your posts and fabulous creations.

Your bling tops look great! You did a great job on the skirt and I really like that combination of Christmasy prints.

Don't tell anyone, but right now she's my favorite kid! Doesn't talk back, never begs for snacks, wears what I tell her, doesn't turn her ipod on and walk around the house screaming Hannah Montana songs at the top of her lungs, etc................. Why can't they all be so well behaved?????:confused3

Those fabrics are gorgeous and you used them so well!

t-beri - It's good to see you back! I hope everything works out and that you guys have a wonderful trip. Sounds like you have some great plans to make the most of it.

WOW! You are so creative! I might have to copy this idea some day when DD is a bit older. We went with the autograph pillowcase this trip but she wasn't really paying attention to that - she just was in such awe of the characters.

Okay,
I can't stand it anymore!!! MYTWOTINKS post about how materialistic we all are broke me.. Of course I've been sneaking onto the dis anyway:rolleyes1 Some situations have thrown some financial kinks into our WDW trip:mad:My DH has a tendency to make everything a worst case scenario and it's my job as mother and wife to keep everyone's spirits up. Well, looking at all the fabulous outfits my daughter would be NOT wearing to WDW started to bum me out. But as it turns out not being on the dis was bumming me out even more. I kept sneaking in and wanting to post, but feeling like a schmuck just e-mailing TJ instead :rotfl: So. I can't go to the parks and I'm getting over it. I do have MNSSHP tix and there is a possibility we will stick around for an extra day to trick or treat in DTD, where DD will wear her Halloween patchwork twirl. And we are going to go to the petting zoo at Ft. Wilderness, she can wear her AK twirl top there. The only outfit that I didn't have the fabric cut on was her epcot one and maybe I'll just save that for our next trip. We usually go at least twice a year, but it's been a tough year, I'm still holding out hope for a spring trip- or possibly an overnight to MVMCP:santa: . So, in light of MYTWOTINKS post on being thankful, I'm back and will be thankful that my daughter has cute custom clothes to wear around town and that we are going to WDW at all. I will just have to focus on planning our next trip and practice sewing so I can make even better outfits for it!!!Besides, I'm secretly hoping that I find a way to go to the parks anyway:wizard:
SO now to catch up on some much missed posting; I made the top 10 ya know, gotta keep up my reputation.

So, I'm gonna stop being a big baby and come back, cause IT WAS KILLIN' ME!!!! I hate being left out-even when I do it to myself.
...t.

Glad to have you back! Let DD wear those beautiful customs EVERYWHERE! ((HUGS))

Heyyyy! Sorry for accosting you in the POP food court! I was just thrilled to see a Boutique(e)r! Your kids are soooo cute! LOVE all the fabulous outfits you made!
I'm glad you did! :) The kiddos got a kick out of it too! I loved the Sleeping Beauty dress.
Yeah, there are quite a few free activities at the world. And our room is paid for and we already have MNSSHP tix, I just gotta figure out how to feed all of us.. so we may shorten the trip depending on cashflow ( I just knocked about $500 off of the monthly bills I had previously been looking for, so I may have a little more cash than I thought)
Here are my plans so far, if you know of something I'm missing ( like the story teller at AKL) LMK
28th (they have the room from the 26th but everyone else will be going out to big dinners to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries and such and well, we're broke) MNSSHP
29th (monday)sleeping in from the late night. Lunch at the pool (PB and J if I have to) Ft. Wilderness Petting zoo/pony rides possibly hanging out (illegally) at the pool depending on time and weather an early dinner at the Whispering Canyon Cafe (WL) w/ the rest of our party. Then back to campground for the Hayride (8$ for adults $4 for kids) if we catch the early one we should be back just in time for the sing along which we love and the smores packs are like $5- I'd spend twice that on supplies, have way more than I need and have to tote it around all day-so it's money well spent!
30th(tues) Mini Golf @ WDW both courses are open from 10am to 11 pm and are roughly $10 for adults and $8 for kids back to the hotel for lunch, dinner and pool time (Or if I can swing it dinner at the Poly- cause we've NEVER gone to WDW and NOT eaten at the Kona Cafe at least once) Then the Electric Water Pageant on the lake and MK's fireworks from the Poly beach
31st-HALLOWEEN if we haven't already gone through all of the money yet we will stay and do, who knows what..I'll have have to get some info on the activities at AKL then Trick or treating in DTD
This puts us to the last day of the reservation as we check out on the 2nd and the 1st is my anniversary so I keep telling myself WHY NOT go for the whole vacation 26th-2nd but in all honesty I'm probably stretching to stay for Halloween and should probably return home. This is my loose sketch of what we CAN do and will vary depending on the cash flow. Of course you know I'm expecting to work one of my "super mom" miracles and come up w/ vacation money in the next 16 days. :wizard: We'll see what I can figure out.

Sounds great!!!! I know what you mean - I am the family cheerleader here too - sometimes I just need someone to puff up my pom-poms!

I too am totally depressed, I was REALLY hoping to go back to WDW this December (I turn 30 in Jan, so I wanted to go for an earlier present...) But my DH totally put the kabosh to that and basically said that he doesn't see us going back anytime soon. Money totally sucks right now, I have a DS1 and DS5 that are at home all day and then a DD6 that I need to get off of the bus everyday. I stay at home with them, but we have had a few financial struggles lately and money is really tight.

That said our neighbors invited us to go camping with the kids this weekend(our kiddos have never been before) and DH is like where are we going to come up with cash for splitting the lot and food and whatever else-BLAH BLAH BLAH...so I told him that I would sell some things on EBAY to pay for the weekend trip. So maybe that is an option for you. I just sold some random craft supplies, kids clothes. I listed 25 things on Thursday and did a 3 day listing so that it would end on Sunday and I could get the money for this weekend. I made almost $200!!! :cool1: If you need help feel free to contact me. If you could list this week then you could have your money before you leave!

((HUGS)) Great job on the eBay sales!

I really need to go back and read thet pages I have missed.... There are some cute outfits being posted here!!

Here is my latest creation:

Ignore the crazy hair....she has some wild hair and was having too much fun twirling around for me to fix it. We have a great pumpkin patch here with a petting zoo and hayrides. We are headed there tomorrow I think. The weather is supposed to be about 85, but if they are wrong I can always put a shirt under this. This was my first adventure making a button hole and making something that buttons :goodvibes It wasnt too bad, but I had a hard time figuring out how big to make the holes so the buttons would fit through. That was a challenge and I am sure there is some handy trick to that I am just not aware of.

Great Job!!! Don't apologize for the hair - she's simply adorable!

Oh, what a touching story! I am so sorry about the loss of your husband. How wonderful that you have the memories.

Now that I've made myself a teary, Teresajoy, I think I'm going to give you a run for the 'Sappiest in Class' award.

 Get you, me and Heather together, and we'd be quite a trio!

My insomnia has only gotten worse since I started sewing this summer. It doesn't help that we are living in a tiny 2 bedroom apartment while our house is being built and there is no place to escape when I can't sleep.:coffee:

Heather could relate! She lived in my parents basement for 9 months (wasn't it Heather?) while they were buiding one of their houses! It was a very nice finished walk out basement with a full kitchen, but, it was a little noisy!

Aren't you Suzy HelperShoes! Really, we all totally appreciate all you do!!!!

Dang you for making me cry...everyone! I am so thankful for those little funny/quirky memories!

Giggling, crying, sewing, that's what we do here! You are too sweet! Suzy Helper Shoes, that made me laugh!

For all of us wallyworld shoppers. Thought you would enjoy this....
This is why women should not take men shopping against their will.

DON'T TAKE ME IF I DON'T WANT TO GO...........

11. December 3: Darted around the store suspiciously while loudly humming the "Mission Impossible" theme.

Regards,
Wal-Mart
This reminds me of Cronk from the Emperor's New Groove!!!! I can also see my BIL Henry (Heather's husband) doing all these things!

It sound like you have a great plan. We had tons of fun at AKL last year. They have activites for the kids, throughout the day. They gave us a card with the activities and times on it when we were visiting one day. We also traded for some GREAT pins from the castmembers here! We loved talking to the CMs from the different countries too.

Stand near the dock, where the boats go out for the Wishes cruise. We did this at the Contemporary, if someone doesn't show up for their cruise, you might get asked to go on it for free. The driver told us that even though it's non refundable, the driver doesn't get paid unless he takes the boat out. We went to see the pagent and were asked to go. And we tried again the following year, and lucked out a second time.

OOOH!!! Thank you for that tip!

And one final question which was asked but not answered a few pages back...where do you put the "th" to make the pics thumbnail size??? Thanks!!!!Hey, HeatherSue....thanks for the Burda patterns....very helpful!!!!
Wooops, took out the quote part, sorry! You put the th_ before the name of the image. www. something. com /something / th_ picture.jpg

I would love to go around and see some of the resorts and spend an entire day window shopping at DTD. I hope you get a little luck coming your way. :wizard:

Thank you so much! I can see you covered each cd with paper and then painted (or inked) the edges. And then you used your cropadile to punch holes and put them on the ring. Very cool! Now, is this for autographs or just pictures? I am just wondering if it would be hard for some of the furry characters to sign it. Or are your bringing index cards to attach to the book? I'm sorry I have so many questions, your book is just too cute!

Yeah! I finished the Buzz outfit!!! Lydia loves it!!! Me too actually!! I even finished the top! I decided to go with a paesant blouse with spiral sleeves. I need to put the ric rac on the top yet, but other than that, I'm done! YIPPEEE!!!

Lydia was in "model mode" so she was doing some goofy silly 4 year old faces! And, she insisted that that leaopard print material "headband' really went with the outfit!!! :rotfl:

Ok, here are way too many pictures for yah!!! We tried to take some pictures where you could see the ric rac glowing in the dark, but we haven't figure out how to do that yet! Just believe me when I say it looked really cool!

Oh, you should do it! It really wasn't hard at all! I used a rolled hem foot, which made the hemming really easy too!

Thanks! I was kind of proud of those sleeves myself!! :)

I haven't been here in a while, busy finishing up last minute details for my cruise. Wonderful outfits everyone! I love seeing all the Halloween ones!

Castle- I leave Saturday to spend 7 glorious days with your husband (I hope he is on the ship this time, we missed him last year)
