I think I saw some of that Strawberry Shortcake Fabric at my JoAnn's. It is adorable. I think there were two coordinating prints. How much do you need?

Here is my DD's outfit for her 1st day of preschool (next Thursday). She wore it this morning to her playgroup -- it was ABC/123 day.

Parker just keeps spinning and twirling around in this. She absolutely looooooves it and that just makes my day!!!! It makes me forget all the mishaps and errors it has in it.

It's really cute! And it obviously spins nice too. Feel free to borrow my sewing mantra..."It will never be noticed on a fast moving toddler/preschooler/child/dancer" just choose the ending that best fits the sewing situation!

Funny you said that. The lost time I logged off, I caught just a glimpse of the siggy and thought, "hmm, that's not what I intended!"
I was TRYING to make it a take off of mouseketeers, so called it Disboutiqueers. Now I'm not sure if it translates.

So, what is the general consensus? Should I change it? I'm happy to do so. I guess I could make it Disboutiquers (though I'm not sure if that is much better?)

I finally got DD's Cinderella dress finished.

This is the petticoat that goes under it. I thought I would never be able to get it to poof out enough, but a few extra rows of net & about 1/2 a can starch & I think it'll do.

The party's Saturday so I'll be able to post pics of her in it then.

If you go to youcanmakethis.com they have a great pattern for a tulle twirl skirt that shows a little girl dressed up as a pirate. It is very frilly and puffy and not scary at all but she is definitely a pirate. You'll have to get the patterns for the peasant top and corset too, they help make that outfit. Don't forget to use the WWMAG code for 20% off if you decide to purchase it.

I agree. I've got the same stores as you, and no Hobby Lobby too. And my sister has them, but it's a long ride from Daytona Beach to Memphis, and I KNOW thats excessive for fabric. But I did call her tonight and asked for her to phone pic me any Disney fabric she finds, and she'lll shop for me.

The one I go to is in Palm Harbor. I know they had the sailor SS because I wanted non-sailor SS to make an outfit. I ended up finding some at Waldemort but it is so cheap and thin I am wondering now if I should have bought it at all! Seriously, sewing never made me almost cry like it has these past two nights, fighting with this fabric. Anyway, if anyone needs me to purchase some and mail it, let me know. I think I'll stop by tomorrow if I can.

Thats a cute Cindy dress! I bet the petticoat will be just fine...it looks like it stands well enough on its own, lol!

Look at how grown up she looks! I LOVE the dress. I can't wait till Ilana gets big enough to appreciate twirl. Is she excited about school? I think we'll put Evan in in January after he turns 3 (he has to be 3 to go here).

Small world, lol. Hancock store directory says there's still one in Merrit Island, just off 520. Hobby Lobby website says new store coming in October to St Augustine. I'll have to watch for that!

This is DD's halloween costume. I got it from etsy.com. I'm pretty sure it was made using the corset top and tutu twirl instructions from ycmt.

I asked DD if she wanted this one or one with a tutu. She said the tutu would be too itchy! The first pic. doesn't do it justice, it's quite full! I love this set, it turned out pretty cute!

She is too stinking cute!! I love the dress and it looks great on her.

I made the entire dress. Thanks. I love smocking, and heirloom sewing. Lucky for me my girls always liked to dress up.

I'm taking a smocking class next month and I'm so excited! For now I found a very talented lady to make the dresses for me (ready to smock) but I hope to advance to bishops by spring/summer. I am making a smocked sundress for the spring.

I bought this set for DD on eBay:

After I got it, I realized it would be really easy to make (although I probably could never do it! ) I was told you could buy pre-cut strips of tulle. They would be twice as long as you want the finished tutu length to be, and then you just wrap them around a piece of elastic and loop the tulle through a hole you cut in it so its attached to the elastic. You would just repeat this until it was as full as you want it to be.
I hope that makes a little sense!

I love it! I love the word Disboutiquers. This thread has a very cool language to it!!! I may be able to do a smaller one. I was at about 34 KB. The smaller ones are hard to read, but I need new glasses (I need Castle's smilie! I am sooooo picky on frames!)

Ok, there's sooo many cool things been posted! I love the twirling little girl in her preschool ABC dress (from Tadamom)!!! I really wanted to do one like it but ran out of money. I will next year! Yours is so cute! I do love her mid-twirl expression!!!!

I love that pirate outfit just posted from Voldemort. I saw that there and was dying with envy! Of course when I finally do have some extra money, there wont be anything I can't live without!

Hello everyone! I've been a lurker for about three weeks now. As others have mentioned, I have also been inspired to "create" by what you all have posted. Everyone does such an amazing job! We are leaving for WDW in 13 days! I've been sewing like a crazy person trying to prepare outfits for my seven year old. She loves these clothes and has been looking over my shoulder occasionally saying "I want that" as I've been viewing the board.

One of the outfits I've made is made from the Ariel fabric from Waldemort. It is a sleeveless style from a Lizzie McGuire pattern that includes three ruffles below the bodice. (Would this be called a "twirl shirt"? ) Anyway, we were planning on her wearing it with a ruffled skort that my DD already has, but today when she tried it on we were not happy. It looked like she was ruffled from chest to knee. We've decided that she needs something straighter to go with it. So now I am making denim shorts. Anyway, I remember seeing shorts back somewhere on the board that included ribbons that looked like they were coming out of the bottom of the hem. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Does anyone know how to make them? Do I just sew the ribbon on at the bottom of each leg? Or, since my time is running out and I still have a Tink outfit to make, would a ruffle be easier?

HA! Totally COOL! I've been calling this look "Pirate-Princess-Ballerina"!!!! Norah's going to be a Witch/Ballerina/Princess!!!! Similar shape.
