Shannon omg I love it  I'm going to put in my siggy as soon as I get back from school supply shopping.

You guys, just be careful not to exceed a TOTAL of 50 KB in your signature line...Add up every image you have by right clicking on each and clicking on properties. Tally up everything and don't go over 50. I used to have a slightly bigger Club Cool photo plus a WISH ribbon and a ticker...and went over. Trust me, you don't want to break the rules! It will go on your permanent record (j/k)

For example, my Club Cool Pepsi picture is 18.77 and my Glitterkiss "Wendy" is 14.95 KB = 33.72 total...my links and "UtahMama" have none.

Just imagine a ticker down below that says 24 more days till WDW bliss! And ONE pound lost Wish ribbon. popcorn::
Sorry everyone ! ! ! I resized my photos lets see how they turned out this time. And thank you for telling me before I got a virtual slap on my hand. :thumbsup2

I missed this the first time around and had to search for it after reading teresajoy's post. Did you make the entire dress or just do the smocking? It's beautiful!

I can't wait to see the rest of your creations :)

I made the entire dress. Thanks. I love smocking, and heirloom sewing. Lucky for me my girls always liked to dress up.

Your daughter is beautiful and so is the dress! I've attempted smocking but I'm sooooo slow so put it aside until things quiet down after Christmas.

Smocking is my busy work...I always have a project or two in the works, and always grab it when ever Dh is driving, otherwise I'd probably never get it done.

The sock monkey outfit is complete!!!

Here you go. I have to get up in five hours to get DD ready for school the last thing I needed to do tonight was paint shoes!!!! I am glad I did.

I'm glad you did too! They're really cute. I've not thought about painted shoes before, but after seeing them lately makes me want to get some for Rebecca. It's not one of my talents though.

:confused3 Can you show a photo? It might help us see what the problem might be.

ugg - my camera isnt here - but what happens is as i turn the last corner, it just is bunchy and i cant finish it evenly - its almost like the presser foot is pushing down too hard and it stretches the material? should i use pins too? is there adjustment for the presser foot?????:)

also, the corners are tricky for me - i end up with a "fat" corner - lol

thanks so much for your help -

I use extra strong hand quilting thread...It works really well for me and I wrap my bows many times. I've heard others suggest dental floss. I think wire tends to come up bulkier.

Oh thank you. I was WAAAAYYYY over and I had no idea. I think I'm all fixed now if I calculated it right!

I've been lurking for a while since our trip in June and keep thinking I should post but then I'll be on here even longer commenting on everyone's great creations!!! I started nursing school and my kids still haven't gone back to school yet (they do finally go back on the 6th so we're almost there, lol) so I've had zero sewing/online time lately!! Not zero shopping time though....I have back to school, halloween and christmas fabric bought and outfits planned for Mya, I just need to sew them!!

:confused3 I don't have any experience with a fabric glue stick, but is it possible that it might be causing the fabric to stretch, or not adhere to the original item well? Are you using a cotton material for the applique? Normally for me (not very experienced here) my problem would be the t-shirt (b/c it's a knit) underneath stretching and then it looks all funky. I've only used wonder under or other fusible interfacings, and haven't had any problem with the applique material moving or bunching up. HTH :flower3:

yes!!! i think thats it - its definately the tshirt thats causing the problem - the gluestick is very light - and i used it lightly - but maybe not enough? a fusible interfacing - is that something you iron on to the fabric and then iron the fabric to the shirt and then really you are just decorating the "patch" with the stiching?:)

Revrob-

Can you please give me the link for the "Bling" sign? I neeeeeeeeed it!

Thanks!

Yes. There are some fusible interfacings that are really stiff and some that are a little lighter. If you have time to go back and read through the posts, I got a lot of my techniques just from reading this thread (thanks ladies :cheer2: ). It's also probably best to use a stabilizer behind your stitching so that the shirt stays a little more stable. Some of these are iron on and some aren't, the kind I have tears away after your stitching is done. Hope it goes better for you!!!

I love the new bling sign! Great Job! My hubby had to figure it out how to get it in my siggie! I love it!!

Celerystalker: I know it wasn't you, I finally found some red shiny tulle in your neck of the woods! Joann's had a little bit left.

The mystery of the shiny red tulle has been solved! The lady at Waldemort in Franklin, said a woman came in and bought the whole bolt to decorate their barn. I'm assuming they were having a barn dance! Yee-haw!!

I must finish throwing all the stuff I bought today into the last suitcase, and now finish the pirate tutu and I'm ready to go see the World!!

I just love love love the minnie pants! Must do that for the next trip!

Nana,

4 HANCOCKS! That is not fair! :headache:. We had 1 and it closed a few months ago. And we don't have ANY Hobby Lobbys. My only choices are Walmart and Joanns(With NO Disney fabric). And the really expensive quilt shop. (I guess I could drive to my sisters house in Texas they have Hobby Lobby-but that just seems excessive for fabric right? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: )

I agree. I've got the same stores as you, and no Hobby Lobby too. And my sister has them, but it's a long ride from Daytona Beach to Memphis, and I KNOW thats excessive for fabric. But I did call her tonight and asked for her to phone pic me any Disney fabric she finds, and she'lll shop for me. :)

Just had to post because I have to try out my new siggie! Woo hoo, I get to use it full size!!! Thanks!!!
Jill

Am I the only one, or do any of you also see "Dis booty queers" when you read the cute siggy someone made? I really love it, but my warped phonics education just makes me read it that way. Do I need therapy?:rotfl2:

Hey mom - guess what I found??? There's a Hobby Lobby in Ocala, according to their website!!!

Any Tampa girls want to take a road trip sometime???

Ocala...that's doable from here!!! I see a road trip in my future...I didn't think they were this far south.
