Oh!!! You shoulda! Your girls would look adorable and hip in that kind of outfit, especially in pink and brown. I'm sure you've got a bumload of projects
waiting to be done.

Also, I notice the huge black and white trend lately. Even in quilting! Hmmm, maybe it'll grow on me?

I want to attempt to CAB (copy and butcher) it, but alas, I have a ballerina/witch to create (for Norah, not me) and MINE is a Hocus Pocus type witch...the 4 males in my family can figure something out that goes along with our orange and black silly theme.

And an Animal Kingdom outfit and Epcot. The friends around the world outfit is done. Nemo is for "Future World day" as opposed to "world showcase day" at Epcot.

Oh, everyone! I'm sending out an SOS for black and orange striped tights or leggings...only if you actually SEE them, though! It may be a smidge too early, but be on the lookout, pretty please? :flower3:

Gymboree has the black and orange tights right now online.

I never saw it. Was it really THAT horrible?

The castle all deck out for the 25th....

I made these appliqued jack o lantern Mickey shirts last year for my two girls that they wore to Disney land for the opening day of the fall celebration! They loved them!

Found it! One condition...you gotta make one for me in a size 4!! ( Well my daughter is a size four...not me!)

That is so cool but is that a "z" or an "s" at the end of Disney's? I think the animal are buttons... I used similar ones to make my AK T-shirts and I got them at Michaels Crafts. Here's a pic which is hard to see exactly but you get the idea. I love buttons because they add color and dimension and are sooo easy to sew on!!!!! :thumbsup2

Ok, this is my first attempt at appliques. The first thing I did was the name "Ariel" and I'm really proud of that. The next thing was the Ariel cutout from the fabric of the top and that was a little tricky, but I managed. Then I did Sebastian... now that was rough.

Great job!!! I have done three applique projects now and feel much more confident. At first I didnt know which way to put the needle to make turns but its actually very similiar to riding a horse. Turn from outside hand and inside leg. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Oh...it WAS a nightmare. I'm glad I wasn't there to witness it first hand. That's an image that would be hard to remove from memory. Disney has the Midas touch in my eyes---they can't anything wrong, especially when it comes to theming. And then came the Castle cake.......

Ollie_Girl!!! Love the Mickey Jack o Lantern shirt!!!!!!! OH It's purrrfect to go with my Mickey Halloween fabric, that I have yet to make anything out of. Plus, it's been established that a little candy corn on a h'ween outfit is practically mandatory!

I've got it being "watched" ;)

Yes! I can totally see little Halloween themed Mickey fabric done in pants to go with it! My girls haven't grown much so they said they wanted to wear them again when we go this year. I was suprised since they are now 11 and almost 15 and they still like boutique clothing to some extent!

I really love those tshirts. They look professionally done!
What time of the year does Disney start putting out there Fall decorations? We were there in September last year but I didnt see any? Do they only put them out in October?

Hey there! It was September 29th... my dd's birthday, so it was perfect!
Check out the giant Pumpkin Jack o lantern Mickey that was at the center of Main ST!

Why My Husband Rocks-

By Aimee

My mom signed up to take a quilting class at local quilt shop. Her sewing machine was not working properly, so I lent her mine. At first it did not seem like a big deal, but I gradually began to regret it. Not so much helping my mom, but handing my sewing machine off when all I want to do is use it. My husband, who usually has a problem with listening and sensing things, actually picked up on this and took me out and let me buy a replacement sewing machine because he could tell how upset I was.

Wow! I had no idea that after 13 years he would still be able to pick up on stuff like that – especially with the amount of things he has going on like work, grad school, etc. Just when you think your husband is totally clueless he may go and surprise you like this.

I almost bought the Brother 6000 that everyone is raving about but I did not know if my Singer accessories would fit. I really do love my new Singer so I opted to get the Singer serger. I am so excited because now I can wash these dresses without worry!!!

My Mom is returning my Singer this week and in the next couple of days I am going to cut fabric. I have all of my outfits planned and almost all of the fabric bought. Now I just do not need anymore ideas!!!

If anyone knows any good tutorials on sergers please PM me! I am a little over my head with this one. Thanks!

           's for Brett!

I made a twirly skirt out of the pink & black mickey too, but I don't have pics of it.

Oh, you must show the skirt!!

Holy cow! Those look awful small to applique. You must be a genius! I don't know that I'd try something that little. Wow. :thumbsup2

Genius? :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Try insane!!! Where were you when I started this thing. Don't you know we all share a telekinetic bond? You should have sensed my project forming in my mind and jumped in with "oh no, that's going to be difficult... you might want to start with something larger and easier" :rotfl:

I wouldn't even buy a cake that looked like that!

Oh how cute! I'd love to have that pattern... :rolleyes1

           's for Brett!

Three :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:s for Brett!

Have you tried sew-whats-new.com? They have a forum on sergers and you might get some tips from there. I have one, but I only use it to finish my seams and wouldn't be much help!

Good luck!

Pooh, I miss the castle bling! I was there when they were hauling it down last year. Seemed kinda nekkie afterward. (Better nekkie than turned into a cake! Anyone bemember the cake???)

I remember the cake...was DD#1 first trip when they were painting it. Dh and I were like huh? Finally saw it completed a year later, and it was just way too pepto pink for us. The Bling Castle was so much better. I wish they had kept it too. They kept that stupid EPCOT hand for over 7 years, why not a blinged out castle?!

Ok, I'm going into lurkmode for a while. At least, I'm going to try to. I know it will be hard, but I homeschool my children and we have to start school today. Well, we don't have to, but we are. My computer breaks will be spread out the day between tasks and my sewing is going to be limited to quiet time and after the girls go to bed. So, you all keep sewing and inspiring me and I will be lurking, maybe ;) .

Aw, I'll miss you! Megan loves the Ariel outfit and wants me to make her one like it. She loves to shop on this thread and pick out outfits! Anyway, good luck with your first day of school. I send mine off tomorrow (first day of kindergarten, sniff!).

So cute! Saw that Mickey fabric at Walmart yesterday and didn'T know what to put with it....going back tomorrow to grab it! And also bought a surger from Amazon.com.....a Brother model that had 77 reviews that were all great....hope mine isn't a lemon! Just love this thread:love:

Do you mind me asking what you ended up paying? I've been really considering a serger. I'm trying to decide between a serger and a new machine. I'd love to know how you like it when you get it (from a newbie serger user perspective!).

Not sure if anyone has answered you yet but I wanted to before I forgot. I got my DD some at Party City 2 weeks ago. They are not as thick as regualr tights and seem to be more like pantyhose but they are orange/black stripes. I belive they were around $5.00!

Love the shirts! Could you do a close up pic of the design? Were there sequins on the pumpkin part? Or was it just a fabric with a pattern? I would LOVE to CASE this!
