Just thought I would post the pics of the package I got in the mail Saturday for Sam and Kiley  . They both have colds and were crank butts last night so I did'nt make them pose in them. I just got their bows for this outfit in the mail and I'll post them later.

Just had to share a school set I just completed for a customer...

On the front, there is a 3d bell, along with the name of the school. The little girl that this is for also is a blondie. On the back of the jeans, there's a book worm, reading "MATH", along with some spilled over glue.

I love the little maribou festhers she put on the one set, so cute :cloud9: .

O my gosh. Cute cute cute. I love it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am working on my Minnie skirt (for me, mnsshp). It is looking ok so far. Unless you look too close at the waistband. I have never made a circle skirt before. Now I just have to figure out how to hem this giant thing! I was actually twirling today. Haven't dont that in oh, about 25 years or so. :rotfl:

Linda---amazing work, I may have to keep that in mind for Kindergarten next year. Do you mind if I CASE that idea? The chalkboard is too cute.

I can't wait to see the finished product!

I am a firm believer in "bloomies". My DD7 still wears knit shorts under her skirts. That way she can still wear the cute skirts and be modest at school and P.E. When she was little, we called them fancy panties and just got the ones they sell at Parisian, or Macy's, or whatever mall store you have access to. They were usually silky with ruffled lace on the booty.

My MIL boasted that her daughter always had embroidered bloomers, but whatever!:snooty:

At back to school time, Gymboree sells white biker-type shorts to be worn under uniforms for this very purpose...

I thought I would share with you that my girls are the same ages. My Susie will turn 10 on Oct 2nd and my Gladys starts K this Fall.

I do have a son, though. He is 14 years old.

How funny! School starts Wednesday for Riley/10 and Thursday for Drew/K. I don't know what I would do with one more, but if I were to have another I would sure be praying for a boy next time!

OK, I added the bling, now it is finished!

Do you take Pay Pal? ;)

Ok ok, I am going to toadilly copy you!!!! Except I don't CASE, I CAB it. (Copy and Butcher) I'll PM you if I get stuck. Just need to know the glue you used.

So, how did you get the edges so smooth?

Seriously, you should do some up in the fancy fabric and sell em on Voldemort. Maybe you'd pay for next year's WDW trip that way? Be sure and thank us little people when you are a brazillionaire.

I've been meaning to share this pattern/tut with you guys.
For those of you who (like me) have to carry diapers and wipes with you everywhere you go, and will for several more years.......

http://crafts.sleepingbaby.net/dipecase.html

Is a cloth pouch in this style.

it holds a couple of diapers and your newly decorated wipes container :)

Hubby originally liked the idea, making it easier for him to grab what he might need to take the little ones to the bathroom when we are out and about. Then I went and choose a bright tropical print for the bag which makes it almost more conspicuous. :rotfl:

Now I need to make a Disney one.

I just spent a small fortune for bling beads, custom Disney bottlecaps, crystals, charms, and cat's eye beads, etc etc etc. I'd like to make DD4 bracelets and necklaces to match her custom outfits. I'm thinking stretch cord would be safer for her, in case she catches her necklace on something. Which is safer and easier to make? I bought the lobster clasps and split rings thinking it would be better than just knotting the ends. Is there any direction/advice you can give someone whose never tried this before? :dance3:

I have used stretch cord before and just tied a knot but used the glue that is made for stretch cord to hold the knot in place. It works pretty well, just make sure it is dry before anyone pulls on the knot or you will need to start again :rotfl:

Now I feel like a total redneck for using a zip lock (generic even) bag! Up until 30 seconds ago was totally find and dandy! :rolleyes1

Huh, you mean you aren't supossed to just throw a diaper in your purse and let it get squashed around with all your other junk.

I have to make one of those. Thanks!

Up until 3 days ago, I had never sewed a thing in my life. NOTHING!

Thank you to all the inspiring women (and man) on this thread. I have made a twirly skirt (using www.kukyideas.com) and am working on a vertical strip twirly skirt (made my own "pattern" with help from here and here: http://patternsthatfityou.com/frskirtcl.htm).

Now I NEED to make one or two of these:

I am ashamed to admit I too use just a generic ziploc bag and squish it in.

I just made a whole bunch of necklaces using the bottlecaps and beads. I used the stretchy cord and used 2 crimp beads on each end and the clasps. I know it says you can tie in a knot but I've never had luck with that before. The stretch cord may not look quite as polished because the beads lay a little differently but I thought it was safest for the little ones. Have fun making them, I found it kinda relaxing to do.
