I've been meaning to share this pattern/tut with you guys.
For those of you who (like me) have to carry diapers and wipes with you everywhere you go, and will for several more years.......

http://crafts.sleepingbaby.net/dipecase.html

Is a cloth pouch in this style.

it holds a couple of diapers and your newly decorated wipes container :)

Hubby originally liked the idea, making it easier for him to grab what he might need to take the little ones to the bathroom when we are out and about. Then I went and choose a bright tropical print for the bag which makes it almost more conspicuous. :rotfl:

Now I need to make a Disney one.

This is really cool! I think I will make a couple man ones. I should make one to keep in his Jeep. I saw this at a Craft show and they were selling them for $25.

Now I have to make dresses for each ride, character meals, wipe covers, sippy cup covers, diaper covers, airplane outfits, pop cent outfits and matching hair! :rotfl2:

But seriously this is a really cool idea and thanks for sharing. I may make one today to take with my to NYC tomorrow. I was thinking of bringing a pull up and some wipes just in case.

Up until 3 days ago, I had never sewed a thing in my life. NOTHING!

Thank you to all the inspiring women (and man) on this thread. I have made a twirly skirt (using www.kukyideas.com) and am working on a vertical strip twirly skirt (made my own "pattern" with help from here and here: http://patternsthatfityou.com/frskirtcl.htm).

Good for you! I agree that the ladies and Tom are totally inspiring. I haven't sewed for years and now I have so many ideas for new projects.

I would like to see you do a custom for each character signing...it would look great in the custom autograph book !:rotfl:

Now I feel like a total redneck for using a zip lock (generic even) bag! Up until 30 seconds ago was totally find and dandy! :rolleyes1

YEEHAA!!! You're not the only one!! This is on my new (growing) list of stuff to get done!! Just think...no more worn out ziplock full of diapers being carried through a restaurant on the way to the bathroom!! :rotfl2:

OK...serious question for you patchwork jeans people out there...

Do you use a jean (denim) needle to do the outlines on the patches and the appliques on the jeans? I think you do but in my sleep-deprived state, (thanks "real" job! ) I'm just checking to be sure!!!!

THANKS!!!!!!!

Yeah, and did she say something about her hubby grabbing it to take the kids to the bathroom. SHA, like not in a million years. But it is super cute, I can add it to the list of things to make for my preggers sister in the next 2 weeks before she delivers RIGHT AFTER I FINISH THIS FLIPPIN' AFGHAN (No, it's not done yet and I don't want to talk about it.)

You FINISH your projects before you start another one?? WOW!!! I've never heard of such a thing! :rotfl:

Sorry about the "just out of the tub hair" (that seems to happens a lot around here :rotfl:), but here is the pillowcase dress I made for DD. It's very basic, but I thought it turned out OK.

Gotta say I've never beena big fan of the pillow case dresses, but DD is 2 so we can probably get away with it..BUT this is probably my favorite one. You did an excellent job. I've been trying to think of a reason to buy those sheets but I guess a pillow case dress will work just as well- and EASY!! GREAT WORK!!

I've been reading this thread for a while now. I have to say that you are all great. I have been so inspired by the outfits you've made & how helpful everyone has been to the new sewers. I've been sewing for a couple of years now & when I have enough posts, I'll show off some of the things I've made since I found this thread.

Just thought I would post the pics of the package I got in the mail Saturday for Sam and Kiley  . They both have colds and were crank butts last night so I did'nt make them pose in them. I just got their bows for this outfit in the mail and I'll post them later.

OMG ! LOVE those!!!!!! These clothes are amazing. You ladies are all so talented. I'm just not very good at sewing. I wish I was!!

Did you purchase these outfits. I would love to find a source to purchase some of these adorable outfits for my next trip with my DD.

CastleCreations..Elisa...I see your ticker says 1 more day! Have an awesome trip and take lots of pics of Ireland and Alexis in their beautiful clothes! :goodvibes Here's some pixie dust too pixiedust: for hopefully meeting the Dream Team!!! :thumbsup2

If anyone is interested ...
perhaps other stores got some too ...

I found a big batch of tinkerbell WATCHES at big lots today ... $3 ... :)
they were digital, with working batteries ...
& had 2-3 cute little silk flower "hair bands" = they were interchangeable & wrapped around the face of the watch, so it appeared that there was a little flower floating there ;) MAYBE they would be worn in little girl's hair to match or on a shoulder strap ... :flower3:

there were other characters, but I was in hurry ... I stopped long enough to look at the tink watches & noted there wasn't any minnie or mickey, so I scurried on my way ... It was reeeally cute, but my littles aren't really into tink.
Thanks! I ran to Big Lots here in town after seeing your post! I bought Cuties Eeyore (for me!), Ariel (with interchangeable Sebastian and Flounder) for Lydia, and the Tink for Arminda. They also had the Princesses that had makeup and a little mirror in it, but I thought it was a little big. Thanks for the heads up on that one!!
Here are the girls in their completed 'Ohana dinner outfits. They're going to feel like royalty having to 'change for dinner'. While mom and dad will just be wearing the same stinky clothes from earlier. :)

Now, to do it all over again with the Red Mickey fabric...
Robin, these all turned out great!!!! You did an amazing job! I hope everyone appreciates all the work you put into these!

I finally finished my second applique project! We are going to Dutch Wonderland in PA and their theme characters are a green dino and a princess and a castle. I didnt get to the dino but the rest of the gang is here on the dress. The dress itself is a clearance item and a bit long. I tied up the bottom with ribbons and made ribbon hairbows to match!

One last twirl!!

FANTASTIC job on this outfit!!!! I love the way your princess turned out!

Please don't link to any ebay auctions here. You can PM the poster who was asking and give her the address to contact the woman. also, if you are interested in the beads, please PM the poster (the beads are gorgeous by the way.) rather than adding to this huge thread. thanks!

I was told by WebmasterDoc, that we could post Ebay usernames, can we or can we not do that?

I am a firm believer in "bloomies". My DD7 still wears knit shorts under her skirts. That way she can still wear the cute skirts and be modest at school and P.E. When she was little, we called them fancy panties and just got the ones they sell at Parisian, or Macy's, or whatever mall store you have access to. They were usually silky with ruffled lace on the booty.

My MIL boasted that her daughter always had embroidered bloomers, but whatever!:snooty:

YES to to "bloomies"!! (I love that word, by the way!!) I was in a rush last night, and threw a dress on Lydia and thought, "Oh, that's long enough, she doesn't need short under it." We then went to a religious meeting, where the chairs are somewhat arranged in a circle. Apparently, Lydia has grown a bit since I bought her this dress, and well, lets just say, everyone there knew Lydia was wearing Care Bear undies by the time the book study was over!!!

the_seamstress, I love the idea of turning shorts into bloomers!!! I am going to try that!

I bought Lydia and Arminda few pairs of Hanes shorts at Dollar Tree a few months ago. I wish I had bought more! They work great under their skirts and dresses.

I don't change my needle when I do either unless I have to. I sometimes have problems when I'm sewing over a seam or other multiple layers of denim but mostly my usual needle works fine.

You laugh, I'm recovering my DD's high chair (in pink) for her birthday party ;)

I love this thread! I also buy custom outfits for Disney!! I guess you would say I am a little addicted. Here is a pic of a really cute outfit I bought last year:
