Look what I made today not clothes, but a must if you are going to the parks. You guys all know your wipe container must matching your boutique clothing! :rotfl2: (Or every ride if you are Utahmama) I am going to add a bling Mickey head. I will post photos when I get that done

I'm so going to CASE that!!!!!! Now just to decide which fabric to use!

I never thought I would say those words! Here is my second pair of decoupage jeans. I also added the bling to the shirt. Now if she doesn't pass out from the 100 degree weather in jeans it will be a succesful day!

NO WAY!!!!!That's so cute! How'd you do that??? I'm thinking more of use are gonna copy you :rolleyes1 with a matching trip reporting notebook cover etc.

of course you'll need one for EPCOT and Disney Studios and AK....one for Peter Pan's Flight and tea cups...

I guess I am going to have to make wipe covers now my DH told me to make ride outfits. I should make sippy cup covers too! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Love the coordinating black and pink shoes. She looks great and I hope she has a great day today! I love the smell of new school supplies!

I think the e6000 glue would work. (I've never used it before). I'd suggest "lining" the mickey head that's on the tee. I didn't do that and the ribbon shows through. I'm going to do a matching outfit for myself too! We're staying a Pop and someone said (a few HUNDRED pages back) this outfit would be perfect for check in!!

We stayed at POP 2 years ago, and yes the out fit would be great for check in. Talk about themes and outfits, depending on what building you are staying in at the POP, you could "theme" your outfits for the 50's (re create that poodle skirt) or 70's (bell bottoms anyone?) Well maybe that would be "over the top" I mean an outfit for each park, each character meal, each ride and then each building of POP? Might be too much...then again, MAYBE NOT!!!

Questions:

When I was in WV, I visited a sewing shop and asked about Disney prints. They said they didn't carry them, they were made by Spring and aren't made for endurance? The mostly carried quilting fabric, so what does she mean? Just that quilting fabrics are made to last for generations and clothing fabric is not? After she told me that, I looked around some more and did find Cars fabric but that was the only Disney they had.

Also, since I'm having such a hard time finding Jasmine fabric, I had another idea. I'm wanting to make dd8 an outfit for CRT and thought about making a patchwork twirl skirt and using iron-on graphics, cutting out squares of white fabric and ironing on Jasmine to each of them. Do you think that would be ok? Would it be durable?

Now, if anyone has some Jasmine fabric they are willing to part with, I'd be more than happy to buy it from you or trade for something else.

I think it would be cool to do a Jasmine inspired outfit. You could find Jasmine colors and fancy accent fabric. I know DD Jasmine costume from WDW has the coin trim on it.

So an outfit for each day, each character meal, each ride, each building of POP, wipes covers for each park ( or is it each outfit?) and a sippy cup cover too? We have definately crossed some line here:dance3:

Don't for the airplane and matching hair bows too!;)

Well we are driving...does that mean we have to have an outfit for every state? ( Maryland, Virginia. North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida yikes) or just to match our vehicle? Or maybe just a Cars out fit. Wheew that might be easier. Where oh where does it stop?? :scared1:  :sad2:

Aren't you in Franklin? I wish. I'm in Jackson. Let me know if you can't find the material ...

LOVE ALL YOUR NEW TREASURES

I love this ... especially the Mickey band at the bottom -- I may have to CASE this

Couple of questions for everyone....

1.) For all those making or already made pillowcase dresses, have you or will you let your kids wear them when the weather starts getting cooler with a shirt underneath? If someone has done the layering with a pillowcase dress, I would love to see a pic.

Thanks.
I don't have an accessible photo right now .. but I put a turtleneck under them last winter and it looked very cute!

Very Cute!!

How did you do this? I love it!!

Come on people, why I am bananaing by myself?

I've been gone all weekend, but now I'll banana with you!!

Congrats on your new machine! I can't wait to see your newest creations. I got a new sewing machine this weekend too! I got the Brother CE-4000 at Walmart. I figure I'll give it a good workout this month and if it dies on me I can at least return it with little hassle. Unfortunately we had a busy weekend, so I didn't get DD's Tink overalls finished but hopefully soon.

I used to buy 99% of my fabric at WalMart and JoAnns until I really started noticing the difference between fabric I could get there and what I'd get at quilt shops. It's very hard for me to go back... which is unfortunate for my budget. ;) Usually quilt shop fabric has a higher thread count than most fabric you'd find at Walmart or JoAnns. Like with sheets, higher thread count means the fabric is softer and lasts longer. I always touch fabric when I shop in person and I can feel a difference. The quilt fabric is usually thicker, softer and doesn't wrinkle as easily while much of what is at Walmart feels coarse and stiff in comparison. In my experience, the less expensive fabric fades or otherwise show signs of wear more quickly, too. It is possible to find great quality fabric at Walmart and JoAnns, though, but it's not always easy to tell at the store.

I can't get search to work so please don't mind me asking this question.

How many here have used the Brother 6000i? Is it any good? Is it worth the price?

I am using an old machine my sil gave me a few years ago (she bought a new one) and it is more a destruction machine than a sewing machine.

Here are the girls in their completed 'Ohana dinner outfits. They're going to feel like royalty having to 'change for dinner'. While mom and dad will just be wearing the same stinky clothes from earlier. :)

I'm about 15 pages back and see that many people are digging the sock monkey fabric. Before I stated sewing (thanks to all of you!) I had this outfit made for my DD because I loooove sock monkeys!
