Well, I can say the bodice is created about the same as the corset top I shared. I shorten it, change the back to have elastic in casing instead of shirring and make the straps so they can button but otherwise they are identical. If you can do that, it's not too hard to add the skirt section... although I won't attempt to try to explain how I did the tiered ruffles because I need to keep some "trade secrets".
I can certainly understand that, you've been VERY generous with the directions allready!! Thank you!
Your daughter's hair is the same color that my sister's was growing up and so naturally I think it is beautiful! Your daughter looks like she has some nice waves. My sister's hair was stick straight on the top and curly underneath. My mom thought a short cut would make it curlier all over and my sister still calls that the kindergarten disaster! The entire year people thought she was a boy.
I tried cutting Lydia's hair shorter once. I thought it would make it curlier, but all I did was cut the curls off! It was just past shoulder length. Which was a lot shorter than I'd planned, but when curly hair is wet, it looks a LOT longer! OOPS! Anyway, more of the curl came back after it grew out some. Now, I just trim the ends!
I like the dress and your dd is beautiful!
Thank you! You know I think Gracie is gorgeous too!
I would not have noticed your kids running amuck, since mine were already running amuck!!!! I was too busy pulling my hair out and picking out my patterns!!!
Oh you are so lucky on the ruffler foot, I paid the $30, at the Mishawaka Hancock!!!. I was asking the lady about the ruffler foot the other day and she of course had no idea what I was really talking about, I even had my other foot to compare it to and she couldn't really tell me which one would work. I finally just picked one out on my own, as my children were running amuck of course!
My son told me that I should wear my LGMH all the time, since I never know when we'll see another Diser and not evern know it. I'm thinking maybe I will attach it to my purse or something! I might have seen you and not even realized it. Although, everyone else at Hancock's that day was childless.
By the way-
We booked our trip today! WoooHoooooooooooooooo!
205 days to go!
YEAHHH!!!!!! How exciting!!!
Teresajoy,
your daughter is adorable! You just reminded me I should have this fabric somewhere too
Thanks! I can't wait to see what you come up with for this fabric! I gave some to my sister, so she will probably be making something with it too.
See, I told you "buy any and all Disney fabric when you see it" because you never know when you'll need or want it!!!!!!! Teresa, Lydia looks so cut in it!
I totally and wholeheartedly agree with that theory!!! And, thanks for the compliment about Lydia!
She looks ADORABLE!!!! I love the bloomers!!!
Ok, here's what I've done so far!
My first custom! For DD's first day of preschool
front
She is gorgeous, and the outfits are adorable!
We'll be there Sept 14 too. Gracie will be wearing this.
I see you got the sash problem fixed! It looks great! She is just absolutely the cutest!
I love this!
I was pressing away and all of a sudden it smelled terrible. I'm wondering what that horrible smell was. I looked at the can of starch, and it wasn't starch. It was spray glue. Now I make sure I double check what can is sitting on the end of the ironing board.
Let me just say
There was one with Teflon for stain resistance. I should have grabbed that to coat my 2 year old with every morning.
You ladies are funny today!!! I love that!
Your daughters are stunning!!! Great job on these adorable dresses!!! They look so cute!
The dress and your daughter are both adorable! My dd loves Lilo but I havent seen the fabric anywhere.
It looks like you live in the middle of nowhere from this picture. I do and I love it.
Thanks for the compliment! I wish we lived in the middle of nowhere. But, if you look just to the right of the end of our garage, you will see a window that belongs to our neighbor's garage. The house on the other side of us is just as close, but it's our bedrooms that line up over there! But, it is a nice place to live overall.
Do you know what DH said? Those tops (meaning pillowcase dresses) are so "ghetto." What does he know?

I stayed up til midnight working on this---no machine so it's all by hand and he calls it ghetto. Urrrrr! I will post pics this weekend.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again: HUSBANDS!!! What do they know????
Is it just me, or do we have the most beautiful children in the world!!!
Why yes, yes we do!!!
Silly question. How do you sew on rick rack? It looks like the outfits I already have are straight stitched which would explain why zig zag was such a pain. lol
That's the way I do it, with a straight stitch.
It's adorable!!! So is she!!! You really did a great job on this!
Someone please save me from 593 pages of re-reading!
Someone was making a family of coordinating shirts from one blue Mickey fabric - mom, dad, son, teenage girl. There were a bunch of photoshop pictures showing different ideas.
What was the shirt for the dad? I thought it was McCalls, but just went through all their men's shirts and can't find a thing.
Thanks!
Deb
Travelingal, Robin, was the one making those I belive. Is this the shirt you were looking for? I found it in the patterns and fabric section of the photobucket site, it says Simplicity 4287:
Okay, I've got 50 questions (okay, maybe not quite 50 but...)
1. Where can I get patterns or directions for:
a. the cute tank a-line top that wraps around to the back and ties.
b. the gorgeous three tier tutu skirts
c. the patchwork twirly skirts
I have patterns for a tutu skirt in my bookmarks site, I haven't made one from it, so I'm not sure how good it is, but it might help you out.
And, I have a patchwork twirly skirt pattern there too.
Link in my siggy or first page, first post, of this thread.
3. Where is everyone getting a lot of their fabrics? I can NEVER find any of the Minnie dot!
I usually find the best stuff at either
Walmart, Hobby Lobby or Joann's. Hancock's also has a nice selection, but I don't get there much.
Adorable!!! Great job!
The Pooh pillowcase dress is adorable!!! The fabriccs you picked look really prettty together, I can't wait to see it all finsished.
Here is my latest CASE outfit. It was my first attempt at the halter style dress. At first my older DD said she didn't want one but then she saw it on her sister and decided she'd take one too.
Thanks for all the great ideas.
Ok, someone please tell me what CASE is??
The dresses look beautiful! I love those fabrics together. Your daughters look like they love them too!
