I downloaded them to photobucket, now let me give this a try.

DH's wonderful aunt made DD2 a Disney dress for each night of our trip. It was our fist trip and we had a blast. (I cannot sew at all).

This one she wore to HDDR.

OOOH, sorry it's so big.

Oooooh... where did the fbaric come from???? LOVE IT!

I dont know how you all are cranking out outfits left and right (UM !). It took a day for me to buy the fabric. A day to cut out pattern peices. A day to pin pattern on fabric and cut. A day to do the bodice. A day to applique. A day to do the skirt and a Day to put it all together. A day to take pics and upload. And since I have two girls...I gotta do it all over again with the second dress! :rotfl2:

That is exactly me! That's why my son told the lady at JoAnn's that I am not a good sewer because I take so long to make an outfit. When you only have an hour here and there that's how it goes (and I make so many mistakes and I have to read the pattern a dozen times for each step! :rotfl: ).

Here are the others.

Love all the dresses! So cute! Thank you for sharing with us.

I always procrastinate becuase I hate to cut the pattern out. Once that's done, I'm okay. That's probably why I like to modify the tshirts and skorts.

O.k, so we've had a Lisa and Amy roll call, it looks like we need to have a Riley too!

Until I finally saw Utahmomma say she had a son named Riley I was starting to worry that I was the only one with a human kid named Riley!

My Riley is a girl and she will be 10 on Oct. 1st!

I think I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. I just realized that I am going to have a kid in double digits and my baby is going to kindergarten all in just a couple of weeks!:scared: When did that happen?

I'm not a Riley but I was born at Ft. Riley, KS. Does that count?
btw I love that name.

I wonder if I'm the only Mara... of course I hear that I share a name with an eatery at the Animal Kingdom Lodge...I'll have to check it out when we go. You know, this will be our very FIRST time! :)

OOOH, sorry it's so big.

That is super cute!!!

Utahmama~ How is your daughter? :) She was feeling poorly a few pages back... maybe that was days and days ago by now.. :rotfl:

YAY!!!!

I did my first of many minniemouse-dots fabric. And my first applique.

This is pattern #5419 McCalls 99 cents at Walmart with my ad from Hancock ;)

She loves it and I had a hard time taking it off her so "it wouldn't be dirty when we see Minnie".

Things I "learnt"...
1. The dots wont turn pink
2. Applique is easy if you secure the applique to your top. Not by pinning.
3. Rick Rack will hide a somewhat imperfect seam.:rolleyes1
4. We need yellow, black, or red CROCs. and her Hair bows for this outfit need to be BIGger and contain black (a mickey head in the center?) Somehow there needs to be an accent of yellow? In the hair bow? A button? A bow on the minnie? ((edited to add- I DID put a little yellow bow on top of the applique to the left a little...cuuuute!)
5. I love this pattern.
6. I'm wayyyyy more confident

How adorable! I love the outfit. BTW, how is she doing? From the pics, she looks like she is feeling better.

Hi everyone,
I have been doing some sewing today. I have to make a Spongebob, and a Bratz outfit for my professor's grand-daughters. This is the Bratz, it's done except for the bling I'm going to add to the top, just a few sparklies here and there.

And this is some cute new fabric I bought at Wallyworld.

enjoy!!

I love the Bratz outfit! If dd saw it, she would want it. lol.

That was my official first Disney custom outfit I made. I made shorts for my DS5 and appliqued a mickey head out of the fabric on a matching shirt. Also my first applique. Didn;t think I could manage a surf board, but I thought about it. Maybe you could find a Mickey (with a swimsuit) scrapbook applique. Thought I saw that one time. I found that just using the fabric was enough Mickey.

I love that! DS7 would want that outfit. What pattern did you use for the shorts?

Those instructions are great! I saw a High School Musical pair of jeans on ebay and I am soooo going to make my own. You're the best!

Gosh, miss 15 hours and it takes me forever to catch up. I think I have missed some along the way - but to every one that posted outfits. .. wow -- everything is great.

Mine are removeable, so I don't have to worry about that, and they can go with any outfit! PM me if you want the ebay seller.

Please do -- that makes alot more sense than trying how to wash the fur!

Someone named Amy of course made this. I got it from the Disigns board. She has a whole website of great stuff. M_I_C_K_E_Y is her name and she even takes requests.

She did this disign in Mom, big sis and lil sis. I am going to bling out pj's for us!

Way to go!! This is awesome --- you definitely are not a newbie. Norah looks tickled pink (or should I saw red with white dot!) I was telling DH about your new sewing machine. (Cough, cough . . . I have a birthday coming in at the end of the month).

Too cute -- all of your outfits are amazing.

Great job! I love seeing things for boys too -- although I think mine is out of range for such outfits.

Help!!! I did my first applique mickey head last night. I appliqued on to a cotton (like 5% spandex) t-shirt and had some problems with puckering. I don't know what I did wrong! Any suggestions? I need to find the charger for my camera so I can post a pic.

I did my first one last week --- I used heat n bond lite to put the applique on the front of the shirt, then I put the iron on stabilizer on the other side of the tee -- no problems whatsoever.

I downloaded them to photobucket, now let me give this a try.

OOOH, sorry it's so big.

All of your DDs dresses are toooo cute -- as is she.

Here are pics of outfits I bought from ebay and my very first sewing project.

Great outfits, love the hems.

I haven't posted much on here even though I'm addicted to this thread because well, I have no sewing machine! But I've been reading and keeping ideas for when I take the plunge and get a machine. Anyway, until then I'm buying my customs for our WDW trip (only 4 more weeks ). I wanted to share pictures of my girls in two outfits I've recently bought thanks to 2 very talented ladies on here. If you want info on who made them, feel free to PM me.

Great little twirlers you've got there!

I just got back in from taking an Applique Class!!! I no longer fear the applique or the different stitches on my machine!!! They even tought me how to use my ruffler foot!!! YEA!!! :cheer2:

Yay! I'm jealous, I've found two classes sorta near me, one isn't for two months and the other is at 10:00am next Wednesday and I can't exactly take the kiddos.

Now I'm begging......Can anyone get me the sku# on this fabric or find where I can buy some?

My Joanne's receipt says 8609190 Tinkerbell Floral and then I think the bolt actually adds the word Stripe.

YAY!!!!

Absolutely adorable! Yay on #6! :cool1:

Does anyone do bling tees? You know, with crystals? Does anyone have a source to purchase in bulk for less expensive than you can buy at Michael's? Thanks!

I found a site the other night that I plan to use. They seem to have good prices and it's free shipping. Now, I haven't used them yet, so I don't have personal experience.

http://www.artbeads.com/

OK here is a dress I am working on..it is supposed to be a halter style that ties behind the neck..well my DD hates that!! And she fussed & fussed about it..so thankfully the straps are long enough so I can attach them to the back..I am thinking of putting snaps on them. (It is just pinned in the pic) It might look a little funky so I was thinking of adding a bow to the back, right in the center lol.
Anyway, this dress is pretty simple..I'm not sure if I should just let it be, or add a ruffle to the hem...or cut it & make it a top & add cute ruffle pants *sigh* LOL Anyway I though the fabric was perfect for the storybook dinner at Akershus.

I really like it! I think a bow in a contrasting shade would look good and then maybe you can add some ric rac (I heart ric rac) in the same contrasting color to the hem and sleeve lines? Sorry your dd didn't care for it, I think she'll come around.

Anyway a couple of questions if it's ok. First do any of you make matching outfits for yourselfs? <snip> I really enjoy this thread. Oh one more question. How do you guys keep track of were you are on here.

I don't match. But then, I've been known to make DH change his shirt if it's the same color I'm wearing that day! :rotfl: Last year in WDW was the first time our family matched shirts and we only did it one day. I don't even match my kids so I'm having a hard time coming up with outfits that don't look like I matched them together! Sorry I'm of no help!
When I start to type "dis" in my address bar, all my previous visits show up in the drop down menu. I just scroll down to the last one that says "page=255" or whatever the number is and then I know where I left off.

Until I finally saw Utahmomma say she had a son named Riley I was starting to worry that I was the only one with a human kid named Riley!

Yeah, my oldest is Tabitha which is always associated with cats and my youngest is Daisy which A LOT of people name their dogs. So I feel you.

Oh no! They are showing up on my computer. Can anybody see them? I spent forever trying to get them to work and I thought that I had figured it out. Boo hoo!

It's because you're using Kodakgallery; they aren't compatible. Try moving them to photobucket and re-inserting them in your posts and I'm sure they will show up.

OOOH, sorry it's so big.

All the dresses were wonderful! Your aunt did a good job :)

Thanks so much for sharing your directions! I have a question, if you open the inseam, is this where you stop "patching?"--just before the inseam? The patches wrap around the outside of the legs, right? So the bottom of the jeans are left unfinished--to fray? Am I grasping it? I'd like to try this for Chrismas. Your daughter (and of course outfit) is beautiful!

I have the patches go right to the edge of the denim at the inseam. That way I don't have any denim showing from hem to the top of the patches on the thighs. That's just my version of the technique - others do it differently and get great results. I also left the hem to fray a bit but again others leave the hem intact and have the patches end just above the hem stitching. It's really all a matter of preference just like how much of the pant leg to cover, the shape of the patches, the layout of the fabric and color combinations. They're great fun and a perfect project to practice on using a pair of jeans that might have some spots and stains you'd like to cover. ;)

I wanted to share pictures of my girls in two outfits I've recently bought thanks to 2 very talented ladies on here.
Minnie Twirl skirts. I bought black shirts and I'm going to decorate it with rhinestones in the shape of Minnie.

I love this one ... the curly lettering is a nice touch! :)

Just wondering if anyone on here has an embroidery machine??? and what kind??? I was looking into a Brother 8500D (used) and a new Brother Innovis 1500D. Not to sure on the new one from the price though:rolleyes1 . Please let me know if you have one of these and if you like it?? TIA --- Mindy

Just sent you a pm

Could you pm me too? I'm new and furiously reading through the posts. I got inspired and made a shirred top for my daughter. I'll post pictures as soon as I can. It's not disney print. She's 12. I'm hoping to maybe figure out how to do some appliques and use the tac it over and over stuff. She'd wear some things at Disney but doesn't want all her clothes redone disney. :)

I really want to try my hand at applique. I want to learn how to add the ruffles to the jeans and cover the bibs of overalls. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
