Don't have a Hobby Lobby in PA. Anyone want to get some of that camoflage Mickey fabric for me? I will gladly pay you for it plus shipping.

Susan

Are you talking about this fabric? My Hobby Lobby had lots of it last week when I was there to clean out the Santa Leopard fabric.:rolleyes1 I think it was on clearance for $4 a yard. How much do you need? I can swing by there on Thursday.

Okay, here are the jammies I made Tessa using the pattern that Stephres posted. I haven't added the elastic yet because I am contemplating putting a ruffle on the bottom of the shirt and the sleeves.

This was the best picture I could get, as she was trying out all sorts of different "model poses" and wouldn't stand still:

Here's Sawyer's pajama pants that I made a few weeks back. Yes, I intentionally cut the fabric out upside-down so he could see the Mickey heads when he looks down at it. Of course I did! What kind of mother do you think I am, anyway? :rolleyes1 Don't even get me started on the disaster that was the matching shirt....

THese are very cute! I saw that Mickey flannel at our Joann's a week ago. I can get you some if you still need some. I also got some fleece that looked a lot like it but with bigger mickeys

I am trying to figure out what to make with my Halloween fabrics.

Castle Creations I believe this is your adorable daughter. Did you use a pattern for this one? I am thinking it is what I would like to make with my halloween collection.

Thanks.

I made this Halloween outfit. It's similar to CC's.

I modified the skirt on butterick pattern 5020, the bodice is a ycmt pattern. Hope this helps.

All of the outfits are too cute! And I can't keep reading these school stories! Dallas starts K next year and I will not handle it well if anything happens!

Here is what I did today, I have really learned, skip reading this thread and I get something done!

I know alot are working or thinking of NBC outfits, so I thought I would post it before I was completely done. That is the back of the pants. The front has zero on it (he needs some eyes still) and then will have 2 pumpkins and not sure about the other leg, still deciding!

I probably should have used black for mouth and eyes! I put on the movie to see what he looked like better but was too impatient and just kept sewing! I accidentally used the wrong green fabric too! But it is close enough.

hi everyone,

great work on all the outfits!!!

okay - question for you all -
do you really have to prewash the fabric before sewing, even when its just for patches?

do you also wash the ribbon/ric rack /trim too??

thanks so much, wendy

This is so true...and I have been meaning to tell you that I love the pics in your siggy!!! Your boys are so charming with their adorable little sister!

Charming:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: especially when they are burping and hitting and fighting....:sad2: I try to raise gentlemen but it's not going according to plan....Lucky for them they are too darn cute.

Of course he is quite comfortable sitting at his desk with the window a/c blasting!

O.k. my rant is over! Whew!

Bad things come in three, so you should be good for the rest of the night, or for the rest of the school year, for that matter!

I'm trying to figure out how he gets an a/c and the kiddos don't maybe he should move it to a classroom....

I have decided to totally give up on getting caught up on this thread. I missed a couple of weeks and have been trying to read a page here and there when I get a chance. The problem is that the thread is growing 10x's faster than I am reading it. I have probably missed tons of stuff, but I won't ever get sewing on my own projects at this rate!

This is my 2nd full week of having no kiddos home during the day. Last week was so packed and this week we all seem to be passing a cold around. Today was my turn to blow my nose all day. I am hoping to wake up tomorrow and feel like a million bucks! I need to get my laundry put away and then I plan on spending the day sewing all by myself!!!!!!!!!

If one more person calls me to ask what I am going to do with all of my spare time now that my youngest is in Kind. I might just tell them that I plan on picking my nose all day. I have answered that question a million times. I serisously think that some of them are just politely reminding me not to be a lazy slob. I have a lot of $$$$ worth of fabric to get through so I will be pretty busy sewing for a while!

I was wondering where you've been.....
Congrats on having both kiddos in school! I think I'm busier now that the kiddos are back in school....There are a million things to do always and I get so annoyed when people just assume I watch tv and nap all day...Don't I wish. The only daytime TV I catch is Oprah and that's only because I Tivo her and watch her at night after everyone's in bed......

You're correct...that is my little one. No..I didn't use a pattern... I tried to..:rotfl: but there just don't seem to be any cute patterns out there. You can use any bodice and just attach a double skirt. The bottom layer is just white with a white ruffle. The top layer, I sewed the side seams, and cut right up the front of it, angled the egde using a coffee mug, and sewed on a ruffle, then attached the two pieces to the bodice. It's really easy...:rolleyes1

The pajamas are so cute. I love the upside down Mickey heads. Your little ones are adorable. I love the model pose LOL. And her Simba dress is darling.

Alright, more feedback please. Here's a revision. I think I llike this better.

I hear you! I am sooooo busy. I take on way more than I can possibly accomplish because in theory I should have a lot of time to get stuff finished. The problem is that in the real world stuff happens. Kids get sick, things break in the house, friends need help, etc.......... I really do plan on getting some sewing projects going though. I have been so anxious this whole summer to have some time to get going and no matter what I am going to make it happen.

One thing I have to get done tomorrow is getting some reservations made for our March Disney trip!!!!! I have tried to not even think of it because it is so far away, but now I feel like I need to get planning. I want my dd5 (she'll be 6 at the time of the trip) to have something special to wear everyday we are there!!!!! I think that it might be my last chance to "fancy her up." We are going to be back in Jan. '09 for her 7th b-day trip, but I am really afraid that she won't go for the themed outfits for that trip.

Somebody not too long ago was asking about what to make for their grandson on a trip to WDW. I replied that I had seen some cute camo fabric with Mickey on it. This is it. I didn't buy any and I can't figure out how to post a picture even if I had so I'm glad somebody found it.

If you could get me 2 yards of that Mickey camo fabric I would be so grateful:cool1: :cool1: I can send you cash, check, paypal, my Maltese, whatever you want.....it would be so neat for my dear grandson Nick...my little adopted boy from Russia, who now looks like a 3 year old California surfer boy....if I could figure out how to post a photo, I would!!!

If you can swing on by on Thursday, that would be great!!! Just pm me and let me know how you want your remuneration....LOL...we dis'ers are too much!

I haven't always washed all my fabric, in fact not until the past couple of months. My things always turned out fine, but I was usually doing something with heat n bond. I do now usually, if I find that I haven't washed it and need it then I'll go ahead and use it still. This is probably not professional so for anything I sell I make sure that it all has been washed.

Now its even better...now exactly what are you going to do with it?? :confused3

HAPPY 800TH PAGE!! WOW!!! :thumbsup2

I love bling too so tonight I finally broke down and bought a Bedazzler and lots of crystals for it. And to celebrate...I also bought a Bowdabra and lots of ribbon to practice with. :cool1: Yaaaaaaa! I will post some results soon! ;)

Now its even better...now exactly what are you going to do with it?? :confused3

Someone had requested for one to be made so that it could be used in siggys & such. If anyone wants to use it, that's great. If not, I'll use it in my siggy, and I had fun making it.

It is so nice to see that many of you are adoptive parents!

After trying for so long to have a child with MANY failed fertility treatments, we just gave up! We decided to put it in God's hands.

Two weeks later we got a call about a BM that would like to meet us.

Long story short, 5 months later we welcomed the arrival of our little princess!
She came to us like a little angel from Heaven and we thank God every day for her!

She is my true inspiration to continue making her "special" outfits. She is so proud of them and tells everyone that she and her daddy made them!

------>Hand 'em over Cinderella, and no one will get hurt!<-------;)

Yes - seems like there are a few adoptive parents - and what blessings all the children all are. Thanks so much for sharing your story! I may not be an adoptive parent - but I know somewhat what some of you went through since DH and I also went through years of fertility treatment before we were blessed with our twins.

Well Ladies & Tom -
I am off tomorrow to see family in Minnesota for a few days. We get home the day before school starts (the 3rd) and leave the 13th for WDW! EEEKK! So much to do, so little time! I will probably not be able to keep up with the thread while on vacation - I expect to see TONS of new creations when I get back!;)

Shannon how about one for those of us who have no sewing talent and can only shop for magical attire for those we love ? :rotfl: :lmao:
