I guess everything I have made for the babes is too big so here she is . . .

This is a CRT.

DisneyWorldFour034.jpg

This her first birthday. (This photo proves she wore the dress twice. :rotfl: )

SopheesFirstBirthday031.jpg

This is my older DD. I saw it and it cracked me up. Right as I took this photo she said "Daddy, I like coffee!" She was drinking my latte.

DisneyWorldTen002.jpg

Adorable little girls! Glad to see my DD isn't the only one who has had coffee! (with lots of Milk though)

Everyone commented on how cute and coordinated she was:cutie: She was a little overdressed compared to the other kids but . . . that is how she is comfortable dressing. We call her the Queen of the Sundress. I really think she is going to love school.

th_FirstDayofSchool003.jpg

What a cutie pie! It looks even cuter on and I loved the way you did her hair.

This was posted on another board I belong too. We don't have a Joann's :( but I figured someone here could use it.

Thank you so much!

Okay everyone here are my first creations of matching Disney outfits for my girls. I did alright on the sewing and found that it wasn't a hard project once I got that hang of it.
Let me know what you think....

This is the front of the baby's dress that I made.

This is the front of my 9 year olds outfit.

This is her shirt that I did in rhinestones.

THese are adorable! Great job. I can't believe you are a first timer.

Minnie (and Tink in the other photo) is painted on the fabric. I did that before I learned to applique. I love the detail I can get with painting but some people worry paint will fade or wash off so applique does better for me.

minnie_paint.jpg
Very pretty. I love Minnie Mouse!

I found the Pooh at Walmart and I agree it looks great with brown :)

It was an iron-on. I wanted him "swimming" in the ric rac like Tom's cute duck, but I couldn't get him situated right. I ironed him on and then sewed by hand around the edges from the back. I hope he doesn't fall off in the wash!

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good site that had a big selection of iron ons? There is not a big selection at JoAnn's.

Also, to show I am crazy, here are Megan's and my coordinating outfits. I am trying to decide if I should make more. She has more outfits that I didn't coordinate. What do you think? Am I crazy?

Also, I was in JoAnn's and Disney was on sale and I found this adorable Tink fleece. I think Megan needs a new outfit for our trip, don't you?

I'm sure I'll finish it by the time we leave Friday, right? I had better get sewing!

I love your coordinating outfits. That tink fabric is really pretty. I like the pattern you picked out too. I may have to case that.

I also loved your Nemo outfit! I am going to try that sewing for dummies pattern you used.

Okay, I hope I explain this right. I've had my PED Basic for about 2 years now LOVE it!!!
Now the PE basci card reader only needs to be plugged into the USB port when you are ready to embroider something. Now for collecting the Free designs on the web this is all computer work. Set up a folder in your "my documents" file name it "designs to be unzipped" or something like that this is the folder you will down load the zipped files you can get from the web. The next folder you need to have is one for your design collection. You can have subfolder which can be created for the different categories of designs you accumulate...i.e. Flowers, Baby Related, etc. Now when you want too see your designs or pick out something to embroider and load onto your card. Plug the card reader/writer into the USB port on your computer, put the writable card into the slot in the reader/writer. On your computer open the PE Basic program. When it comes up hit the "file drawer icon button on the left hand side, it will open up a window that you can choose a card or desktop choose the desk top and then you can go to your folder with your designs you made up earlier. If you need additional help just PM me. Nana

I just wanted to give anyone that might be interested a "heads-up". I purchased the Disney machine at Walmart thinking it would be a reasonable way to get a sewing/embroidery machine. I've yet to use the machine, and have been thinking about buying the PED software so I could download designs. After spending close to $400 on the machine I figured I would use the machine awhile and see if it was worth spending the additional $129 for the PED software. Anyway to make a long story short, Walmart (oops! Can I say that) had them on clearance yesterday for $64.00.

I am totally addicted to this forum. I hope to contribute some of attempts at sewing in the near future.

You know the first day of school has gone better than I thought. I did not cry although I felt like I was going to throw up. DD loved it and kicked DH and I out of the classroom.

Everyone commented on how cute and coordinated she was:cutie: She was a little overdressed compared to the other kids but . . . that is how she is comfortable dressing. We call her the Queen of the Sundress. I really think she is going to love school.

Sorry, she does not speak monkey. I guess I failed her:rotfl2: Her Daddy called her Princess Sock Monkey today. That did not go over well.

Stroller Shoes:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I love it. Only if I could get Princess Sock Monkey to sit in the stroller.

Try to notice the necklace. I made it too. I has monkeys!

FirstDayofSchool003.jpg
TOO Cute! Happy first day of school. You did a great job on the whole outfit! Accessories and shoes too!

I am so excited! Today I can get back to working on outfits for us! We leave in less then 3 weeks and honestly I don't have one created! Here is what I had to finish up, this was a request and nothing I would have done on my own. Honestly I like it alot better then I ever thought I would. I do like the turkey, but not so much the rest of it! The person I made it for absolutely loves it so that is what counts!

Bib pumpkin and turkey can be switched to wear either or.

And here is a shirt to match a tutu tulle skirt. I love the shirt!

To whomever asked a page or 2 back about sewing on jeans. I open up all of mine. I cannot imagine trying to sew up the leg without doing so. But saying that I did have to fix a pair of my son's once where he fell on concrete and ripped the stitches out, I kind of had them inside out, but not really and just pulled the pants leg up where the needle is. It was only 2 straight lines I had to fix though. I could never turn or twist much with it that way.

and thank you for the post to the little girl missing. I can only imagine what the family is going through right now.

I love the fall overalls! Very cute. The ribbons make great tail feathers for Mr . Turkey.

How is your son feeling? I hope he is doing better.

I finally got caught up reading and looking at everyone's new outfits this morning. I was interrupted by my 3 year old waking up with a very nasty nose and a very cranky disposition. He seems to have caught a cold. I haven't gotten a chance to comment though until now. Sorry about the bunches of posts. I tried to do some Multi quotes.

I also want to add a few other comments.

Good Luck to you Lisa on your Children's Clothing line. Fall 2008 huh? I will have to do some back to school shopping then. Your applique work is wonderful and thank you for sharing your tips. I am going to try a Mickey Head applique on a tshirt. I am nervous about the applique on the knit fabric, I hope it doesnt get all puckered around the edges.

Hkite and Theresa Joy, I have a friend with two daughters. Her girls are named Lydia and Tess!

Revrob, I noticed your new signature and I like your children's names. I have an Abby (age 6) and an Ethan (age 3) too.

I hope I haven't missed too many. I love seeing everyone's creativity! And I love how so many share tips and hints:teacher:.

Do you mean this one? I swear, she's using the troll's nose to keep from falling off his foot but the photo definitely looks like something else is happening. ;)

Thank you!

<--- me blushing. LOL

I don't know about Rodeo Drive but I am working with a woman to try to get a children's clothing line launched. It's still in the planning stages so I'm not counting any money yet but it's an awesome opportunity even if we don't hit it big.   We're trying to find a reliable factory to manufacture the garments. We'd hoped to have our first collection ready for Spring of 2008 but it's looking more likely that we'll go for Fall 2008. There's so much more to it all than I'd ever considered but it's something I dreamed of doing since high school... although at that time I wanted to design for adults but doing kid's clothes is definitely more fun.
Lisa......I signed up on your mailing list yesterday :woohoo: and would be very interested in your clothing line. I really hope it works out and you do it! :cheer2: Yaaaaaaa for you!
Also that troll cracks me up. We were half hour early for our ADR's and stared at that troll the whole time we were waiting. Your picture of Zoe and he is hilarious! Gee.... can you sew the troll something presentable to wear? He is mighty ugly right now! :rotfl2:

The sock monkey outfit is complete!!!

Here you go. I have to get up in five hours to get DD ready for school the last thing I needed to do tonight was paint shoes!!!! I am glad I did.

sockmonkey005.jpg
Great job on the outfit! I love all the accessories too! :thumbsup2
You know we wanna see the whole outfit modeled! Great job on the shoes!

Ok, now for my latest. This is my first attempt at Mickey heads, and I think they turned out ok. I posted an up close pic of my stitches so I can get some feedback on if this is what they are supposed to look like. I forgot to add stabilizer to the back, thankfully they worked ok. The pants I found at a yard sale while on my search for "practice clothes" and the top I made using the justtutes? pattern. What do you think?
DVC00467.jpg
Very nice stiching....way better than my first time! :thumbsup2 I love the lavender color too!

Everyone commented on how cute and coordinated she was:cutie: She was a little overdressed compared to the other kids but . . . that is how she is comfortable dressing. We call her the Queen of the Sundress. I really think she is going to love school.

My DD3 loves dresses and skirts too. I don't make her wear them she actually prefers them. So I have loaded up on cute tights and plan on making/buying as many things as I can until she outgrows this stage. I love dressing them up.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: The hardest part about multiquoting once you do figure it out is remembering why you multiquoted....
This is so true...and I have been meaning to tell you that I love the pics in your siggy!!! Your boys are so charming with their adorable little sister!

I got mine yesterday too! I was shocked to see it sitting there!!! I haven't opened my machine yet either. I found it cheap on Amazon....free shipping and no tax, and of course the other PED at Wally World.

Nancy, thanks for the help with my grandson's Disney outfits. I will check out overalls...got some shortalls at Wallyworld for $6.

Isn't this just the best forum? Love it:love:

This was taken yesterday on the first day of school. DD8 & DD4 the big 3rd grader and the big pre-K girl. My baby is a big girl now.

Well, just look at these thumbnail pics of my darling granddaughter (who is the love of my life)....she is so darn cute with that curly hair and big blue eyes, and whenever you go to take her picture, she gives this cheesy grin and squints....I don't know what she is posing for....but it is never a natural smile...and although she will be 3 in Jan she only wears a size 2T if I take it in, a size 6 shoe (infant size???) and is a tiny little thing....it is hard to make her a really beautiful princess gown...love that gold gown of Lisa's Zoe...Can someone tell me how to post a photo of my finished outfits? Can't for the life of me do it...

Was so thrilled to find the computer program to add onto my Brother Disney embroidery machine at Wallyworld last night for only $68 on clearance...and those T strap canvas sneaks to paint for $3 for Makayla...

I hate to do so much for Makayla, and not my grandson Nicholas (our little Russian miracle)...he is 3 and we are going to WDW in Dec with him and his mommy and daddy....What would you suggest I can make for him? I got some dino fabric...he loves dino's...what boy doesn't? Anyone have any photos to share?

Keep the pictures coming...love them.

Lisa I can't wait to see your line of clothing. I am like everyone else...have to be one of the first to have something from our friend Lisa who we knew back when.....you will be famous one day! I admire your ambition. My family was always after me to start a business with my creations, but I only really enjoyed seeing my daughters in them. And I don't know if I could take someone criticizing my work. For people who don't sew or knit or whatever, they really can't appreciate what goes into it!

Hi,

I have a suggestion for your grandson for WDW. I was at Hobby Lobby today (looking for the leopard Santa print and the were sold out :sad1: ) and they had a camouflage fabric (greens) with Mickey on it. Very cute for a little boy or you could girl it up for a matching one for your GD and add some pink.

Help needed again!!

What would I do without you guys??

I have been asked to put together a day of crafting for the women at our church. I'm looking for ideas for classes or websites that can give me ideas for these classes. Any medium is wanted- as long as it can be accomplished in a few hours. Food ideas are also welcomed as I thought it might be nice to do some cooking classes as well. Any holiday or event ideas would be great.

Do you all think that maybe teaching how to do these cute little twirly skirts would be good?? How long does it take to actually do one from start to finish?

If you can either repond to this thread or pm with your ideas I would so appreciate it!

YOU"RE ALL THE BEST!

So, is the machine still no clearance? I left the WM fabric dept. about 45 minutes ago!!!!!!!!!!!!! But, I can go back for that price!!

I know a few years back that the girls in the middle school that I taught at made scarves (I'm not sure if they were knitting or crocheting though) and that they were able to do it in about a week of class time (5 fifty minute periods) and they all loved them. What about as fall rolls around making decorated cookies to go with the holidays? Jack-o-lanters for Halloween, turkeys, fall colored leaves for Thanksgiving, candy canes and Christmas trees for Christmas? In the past year I have been teaching myself to decorate cookies so I could do them for my husband's sister's wedding that was in June. I taught myself and made 350 cookies for favors. They were a hit! I personally don't think they are that great (give me chocolate chip any day) but they look fantastic. PM me if you would like to know my recipes and my hints but I'm not a professional by any means. Good luck!

I have been lurking around this board for some time and keep saying that I will share my pictures. Everyone said to use photobucket but I was never able to get it to work for me.........finally figured out that my norton antivirus won't allow me to login. Does anyone use any other photo sharing websites so I can finally stop lurking and share? Thanks for your help!

Nice work!

Also, has anyone else thought about designing a banner for people like us who enjoy boutique/custom clothes? I know the WISH board has clipart and the Photography board has a banner that members have added to their siggy.

I would, but I am extremely busy trying to keep up with everything in my life as it is... Anyone? ;)

does everyone remember my twins BTS sets?
