No, I didn't but it's just as well, they probably wouldn't have liked it. SIL and DB hated the shoes :sad2: After that, I thought for certain after that they wouldn't like the outfit. They said they did like it, I wonder if DN3 even got to see the shoes :confused3 They never have her open her gifts until she gets home so I have no idea. The shoes came before the outfit and all of it had to be rushed as my DN3 B-day party was moved up a week at the last minute :rolleyes1 I wound up begging the designers to rush and have it all overnighted. I did tell DB and SIL to return it all to me after the shoe comments if they didn't like it as I would save it for when my other DSIL has children. DN3's mom offered to give it back after DN3 wore it to WDW in case I wanted to hold on to it to give to my other SIL down the road  I said no, that it was hers to keep. I would never re-gift after it was worn  DB did apologize for having "different tastes" I said it wasn't necessary, if I had kids and they gave me something plain an unimaginative for my kids I would not like it one bit :lmao:

I wound up buying instructions on how to make bows on Voldemort that also contained video so I can follow along.

Sorry, I just needed to vent :scared:

Vent away! I can imagine how excited you were to give it to her - and how let down you were by the reaction. I have had my mom or DH say they didn't like and outfit for DD - saying it was "too much" only to think it is adorable once she gets it on. ((HUGS))

I like your decoupage sets the most!! Especially this one!!

Where did you get those gorgeous fabrics? Any idea the names of them? I love the capris too!! Too cute!

I don't think I am going to get to much sewing in the next few weeks. I am due any minute (literally) now and most of my time with be tending to a newborn and my two other kids.

Happy sewing everyone!

Blakely

Best of luck with the new little one - enjoy such a precious gift!

I am thinking of doing this to go with a skirt for my DD to wear on the cruise. Keep in mind it is only pinned and the pattern is still in the middle, but does it look like a mickey head to you? My hubby thinks it is a heart, but I am about over asking him his opinion. So what do you think?

Without telling my ds what the shape was I asked him. He said mickey mouse. So it must look like a mickey mouse if a 14 year old boy says so. lol

Well here is the custom that arrived yesterday. It's not Disney...I guess DD could wear it to Animal Kingdom. It's a 4 piece set, It's for DD's birthdy next week, so no model until then! I love this set, I'm thrilled that I won it!!

DD loves the giraffes at the zoo! Our zoo (Detroit Zoo) just got a new giraffe exhibit. There's a new platform where you can actually feed the giraffes!! We can't wait to go and feed them!!

I'm too lazy and busy to edit this down to one picture...this outfit is ADORABLE I love that it can be worn more than one way.

I am SOO excited to share my completed customs with you guys!!

I still have to do some appliqued T's and polos for my DS5, but here is what I've done for Mally (DD7). I would like to have time to make her one more outfit, either Cinderella themed or princess themed of some kind. I am also thinking of a High School Musical outfit...

This was my first attempt at the decoupage method. I had the jean jacket laying around (it won't fit Mally long) just waiting for the opportunity to be embellished! Catch the HIDDEN MICKEYS???

Jeanjacketfront.jpg

This is the decoupage jeans with peasant top... (again, notice the hidden Mickey??) I didn't make them to match the jacket (denims are very different), but I loved the fabrics so much, I wanted to use them again.

I've been sharing my Alice outfit during it's progress. It now is totally done. (Notice, I did take your advice and removed the ruffle from the front). This is for our 1900 Park Fare breakfast! For those that I emailed the pattern for Alice to, how are you coming? I'm excited to see what others do with it!

Aliceback.jpg

... and these are my favorite... the Minnie overalls. We just got the MJ Crocs and Minnie head Jibbit. I found this adorable top at Carters (Mally's a 6x, so I painfully made my LAST Carters purchase for her, EVER!) I may apply something in the back top of the overalls where I took off the OshKosh label. Maybe another spray of flowers?

Sorry about Mally's PAINED expression. She was missing Hannah Montana...

MinnieO'allsfront.jpg

I'm so excited to have these done and put together! I am going to put them in their ziplock baggies and put them in the suitcase!!! What satisfaction!!! (Yes, I'm nuts... we don't leave for another 11 weeks, but I LOVE to pack!)

I am also considering doing a pair of denim Minnie capris for ME! If I can find a good fitting pair of jeans at the right price, I will...

These are all (to quote Sharpay) FABULOUS!!!! Love the hidden Mickey's - and the ruffles on the back of Alice are to DIE FOR! Great job! OH, and I totally get missing Hannah - DD loves her. We just bought tickets to see her concert when she comes to Seattle - I am as excited as DD!

Here is what I did yesterday. It is my trial run for my planned Belle outfit -(I spent $60 on the fabric for the Belle outfit so I NEEDED to do a test run on something else... anyway I learned to do BUTTONHOLES yesterday -- yeah Here it is -- retrorocket:

This looks great - can't wait to see Belle!

I don't know if you got an answer yet (I'm still got some reading to do). This is probably not the best way, but it works for us. I have a glass hurricane (the kind you would put a candle or something in) on DD's bathroom counter. I put all of her little hair curlies inside the hurricane, and I hang her headbands around the outside rim of the hurricane. It's pretty with all of the colors, and it keeps everything in one spot.

I'm headed off to church, so I won't be in for a few hours. If you would like for me to take a pic, PM me and I'll post a pic for you.

Hmm that might just work. Right now I have barretts and pony holders in a steralite drawer.

I Made DD Appliqued MMhead shirt last night. I am happy with it. Don't look too close ;)
MMfront.jpg

Ugh, looks like it needs to be ironed again.
the backs shows the bow, although I obviously need to practice my bow making.
I left the ribbon really long and will wait until we pack to trim and seal the edges.
MMback.jpg

I did this paw print shirt for DS4 and am working on a matching one for DD1 for AK and our local zoo. For her the paw print is in a circle instead of a square and I am considering adding the ribbon to her shirt with the tie in the back. Hmmm? Not sure yet.
Paw1.jpg

Here is the dolphin shirt for DD1 but I think it needs something else? I don't have a lot of fabric, but maybe I can add some to the bottom, a loose ruffle or something? I have never done ruffles so I am not sure about them.

I got an my order of t-shirts this week so I finally got to do some of these I have had planned. Plus a handful of transfers from the DISign boards and some we made ourselves.

That's cute, I like the bow in the back!! It's cute as is, but what about adding the ribbon to the hem of the tee? It would make a cute ruffle. Like I said, It;s cute as is, just my 2 cents.

Where did you get those gorgeous fabrics? Any idea the names of them? I love the capris too!! Too cute!

The main fabric (the Asian inspired print) is by Alexander Henry, but is from 2003. It's called "Blushing Meadow".

The olive with light blue polka dot (and the apricot dot that I used in the Alice outfit) is by Robyn Pandolph. It's called "Forever Yours".

The mini dot in the rusty color with white dots, is also by Robyn Pandolph but for South Seas Imports. It's part of the "Select Basics" line.

The rest of the random prints were scraps from my stash, but I think a lot of it was also Robyn Pandolph (Hannah Bella line?).

Some of the lace is simple cotton cluny, but some of it is real antique lace that was a gift.

I hope this helps!!

I LOVE that fabric and I think it's fantastic for AK! You could have some bows made to match and have one of the Mickey head buttons put in the middle of them... viola! It's Disney!! (You could also have a necklace made in those colors with Mickey heads!)

I LOVE classic Disney, but I also love non-traditional fabrics with a Disney twist!

Here is Audrey Grace in Castle Creations lovely cow outfit. She just loves it! Her facial expressions are because she is trying to twirl on my countertop! We went to the Zoo today in this. ( I know , NO cows at the Zoo, but it's what she wanted.)

Very cute, you can tell she loves it!! Now what are those adorable fairy outfits hanging in the background?!?!

We stopped at K Mart (or possibly kmartomort?) and I bought these on clearance. Thinking I may use the E 6000 and glue the cut outs of the sequins on a tee shirt or jeans. Any other ideas? I bought 3 Mickey's, two Minnies, and the one Ariel. Only because that is all they had!!
