Dena

What pattern did you use for this top -- thanks!!

While I was out looking for a serger threader at a small fabric shop I go to every now and again, I noticed a backroom that I had never seen before. In there, they had all of their deeply discounted items. Guess what? I found the most DARLING Chip & Dale fabric!! I've never even seen Chip & Dale fabric before and this was not only incredible quality at an unbelieveable price (1.99/yd.)--but it's simply TDF!! It's one of the cutest Disney prints I've seen in a while and it's super, super RARE! They had lots of it. I bought only about 2 yards, but I'm tempted to go back for more. It'd be perfect for a boy or a girl! I really love it!

I was also going to ask you all, several pages back somebody mentioned that they'd be willing to pick up some from "Friends Around the World" fabric at their Hancocks and ship to those who wanted it but couldn't get it. I'd love to find out who this was and see if they could possibly pick some up for me. Have fun sewing and playing with your kiddos today everyone!

Could you post a pic of the chip n dale? I have 2 boys and think it would be awesome to make somehting matching for them out of this. I'm not the one who offered, but I know our Hancock still has the friends and I would be willing to ship it to you as a swap for the Chip N Dale fabric.

Everyone's work is so great! Every time I open this thread I get a new idea for something I need to make! I hope you all are proud of your outfits (bought and made). :)

Ok, I have tried to find things on my own, but I am having problems. I was looking for the pink and black pirate outfit someone (I think Castlecreations?) to try to do something similar (and simpler) for my daughter. I looked in the photo album and I couldn't find it. Anyway, I was wondering where the black with pink polka dot fabric came from. I searched my JoAnn's and couldn't find it. I was going to check Wal Mart next. If anyone knows, please let me know.

The other thing I can't find are the directions for the layered skirt. I thought there was one specifically for tulle in the bookmarks, but I can't find it. I found a pattern (McCall's 5090) but I was looking for the directions on the internet before I invested in the pattern. I have a pattern for a tiered skirt, but this one has the tulle as the middle layer so it is more like the one I mentioned.

All this is important because my son wants me to make him something! He found the ugliest, scariest skull fabric and wants me to make shorts for Disney. I am so excited to do something for him, but this fabric is way creepy! Anyway, I thought I would make his sister a matching skirt if I can find the fabric and directions. Thanks for your help!

I've had a lot of requests for pictures of the Chip & Dale fabric. I've had trouble posting pictures in the past, so lets give this a shot...testing...testing....1....2.....3! To get an idea of scale, The apples are just a little smaller than a quarter.

The background is a really light GREEN with TINY darker green dots with various browns, creams, and burgandy as accents.

Yay TeresaJoy!! You helped one of the least computer-saavy people EVER figure out how to post pictures in a forum. Thanks a million!!

OMG - that is too cute!! You wouldn't be willing to pick up a couple of yards for me, would you???

These aren't the best pics of her dress, but the others are not uploaded yet.
My daughter makes this terrible squishy face when the cameras out and says Cheese, we can hardly get a picture of her not making it!

That fabric is adorable! Thanks for sharing the photo. Have you gotten a lot of requests for it? Did they have a lot at the store? I am thinking I might need some of it :rolleyes1 But I have a lot of fabric to make some rompers for DS still. (Nemo, Cars, Buzz) and a friends around the world dress for DD, and I really want to find some of that adorable pirate fabric.

And I want to make some hairbows and we leave in 2 weeks. :cool1:

Congratulations! You're the FIRST man to post on the thread! Pull up a chair and get comfortable. We have a lot of fun here. Your wife is rather lucky to have such a supportive DH. A lot of our DHS roll their eyes and hide their pocketbooks when in comes to our at our little Disney boutique obsession. Your wife did a FANTASTIC job on your DDs ourfits. My highest compliments to the seamstress!

Thanks for the complements. I will be sure to let her know!

Now that I've figured out how to post pictures, I thought I'd share a little bit of what I've been working on. I know this is a little :offtopic:, but we've discussed it before, and I've had several requests from people here to see examples of the custom autograph albums I've made for my kids and customers. I wanted them to be as interactive as possible for little ones, so there's autograph tags to flip open, slide out of envelopes, flip-style mini books within the albums for pictures etc. Then of course there are places left blank for the pictures of the kids with the characters when we get home. It has been my boys' favorite souvenier EVER! It's gotten more mileage than anything to date and it's been a great way for the kids to remember everything about the trip. We pull our books out several times a week!

You wouldn't BELIEVE the response my kids have gotten from the characters and CMs over their special autograph books!!! The characters always take time out to flip through their books, talk to my little ones, and take extra special time with them. This is a SMALL sampling of what I've made in the past, I've made more of these than I can count.

I apologize in advance for the black ovals my family seems to have for heads. We have a rare genetic condition :lmao: No seriously, DH and I are a little nervous about posting pics of the little kiddies online. They're SUPER cute kids though IRL--if I do say so myself;) If I ever get brave enough to post, I will.

I'm going to stop there for fear this post will be a mile long. Hope you enjoy the pictures!!

Now back ON TOPIC, I have two outfits done, but I'm waiting for accessories to arrive. As soon as they do, I'll post pictures.

I'm too far behind to quote everyone :(.

All of the new outfits posted are ADORABLE!

Denise :wave2: I thought everyone knew about this thread! I can't wait to see what you come up with for the figs!

Welcome Tom, Leighanna is adorable, as always.

The Chip and Dale fabric is too cute! I really like the vintage Snow White sheet too!

The Mickey bracelet was made by Kelly (1EvilQueen).

Lori, your kids looked so cute in Disney! They looked like they had a great time!! Great picture of your whole family :goodvibes

Robin, you're making me want Photoshop more and more!!

aimeeg, I hope your little one is better soon. We had some scary moments with my DD when she was a newborn. I know how you feel. Your custom village pieces are gorgeous!!

Very cute!!! I love that Dale's name matches his nose. That sure makes it easy to keep them straight.

hi everyone.

i really love the shoes that have been posted recently. i might try and do something like that for my ds8- he likes anything at the moment that has skulls on it. he has been wanting me to make him something like some of the other mums on here have mentioned.

i've been brainstoming a ariel top for dd6. i have a plain white singlet top (the same kind as the one i used for the strawberry shortcake top, i brought a heap of them because they were reduced to $2 as it is winter here) i would like to do ariels whole body with her face on the front but her body continues around one side of dd to finish with her fins on her back. does that make sense?

i have some pictures of the dresses i have been working on. i done shrilling(?i think thats what it is called) on the top, approx 15 lines of it. i still have to add ribbons to tahlias princess dress i dont like the way it looks too old for her wthout them, plus she was jumping on the trampoline earlier and almost lost it much to the amusment of her older brother! i have also made her one using the ariel bubble fabric but its not finished yet. Ash decided she didn't want her picture taken again, so i took one of her back anyway.

i will have to post them later as photobucket is down for maintenance?!
melissa.

Hi Melissa,

All of your outfits are adorable!!

I think having Ariel continue around to the back is a great idea! DS had the cutest outfit when he was little that had a tiger that continued around and I've been planning a similar custom outfit for DD (our favorite football team's mascot is a tiger).
I'll post some pics:

I don't know how well it shows up, but his stripes are velvet and his muzzle and belly are a textured fuzzy white. So cute! I don't think it'll be *that* hard to do.

One more post then I have to get back to work. I know this isn't custom, but I won this on eBay and I love it!
