You all are so creative! I have the vision, just do not have the talent or the skill to sew. Do you sell your creations or do you buy them? I would love information.
We do both!

My DS just turned one today!!!! We will be having his party this weekend also. I shouldn't be wasting my time hanging out on the DIS, I have plenty of cleaning and party preparations to take care of. I am seriously addicted though and can't go to bed without catching up for the day! If I don't catch up for the day then I could be 20 or 30 pages down by the next day!!!!![]()
i've been brainstoming a ariel top for dd6. i have a plain white singlet top (the same kind as the one i used for the strawberry shortcake top, i brought a heap of them because they were reduced to $2 as it is winter here) i would like to do ariels whole body with her face on the front but her body continues around one side of dd to finish with her fins on her back. does that make sense?
melissa.
I was one of the original designers on the DISigns board for t-shirts, but I burned out on that. I see lots of familiar faces from there!I always make us matching t-shirts for our trips, and we get so much attention. For Sept maybe I should try to make a couple of boutique outfits for DD and matching t-shirts for my boys?
I think this would be perfect for a creative outlet. I have a sewing machine in my basement, but I haven't sewn in 25 years, so I wouldn't even remember how to thread a bobbin. I will need lots of basic instructions. Anywhere in particular to start? And, Dawn, why didn't you tell me about this?
Glad to join you all. Your work is absolutely AMAZING!!!!!![]()
Then Dena had to post that awesome small world outfit. So here is my version! I even made shoes! This is my second attempt at an appliqué. Not bad I don't think. I still need some more practice. Oh, and I drew the face on. I tried to appliqué it about six times and kept trashing it.

okay everyone...your first opportunity to see my first attempt at applique (and your first look at my twins). Here are my pillowcase dresses for the girls. Im making some matching tutus for the big girls to match.

You did an awesome job on this! I must have been very tough finding that purple outfit so you can put the Ariel on it. I think it looks cute and your applique looks great! I can get fabric from Wal-mart for you if you need for your next project. Pm me if you want. They have plenty of Ariel, princesses, nemo, pooh, and some tinkerbell as well. Oh yeah, Mickey, too. It runs about 3.94 per yard. I am pretty much there every week getting groceries. Hancocks has some too but I don't get there as much and it's only good if they are having a sale. We also have a hobby lobby that I go to occasionally. There is a rumor going around that our 2 Wally fabric places are closing but the clerk said that it will be open "until further notice" It's always busy there so I don't know what the deal is.
*PLEASE POST ALICE!!!!* You've had me waiting for days, and my patience isn't holding out much longer. I can't wait to see it!!![]()

Ok how is that for a start?
Will post photopass pics when they come in the mail! Missing about 10 outfits and the pics of the jewelry is hard to see with the outfits
Hi All,
I just bought this onsie on Ebay for my DGS Cayden. I can't wait to try it on him when it gets here. If the applique is hard to see it's a baby with Mickey ears and a pacifier. I also have a bunch of clothes ordered for my DD's and once they all get here I'll take some pictures and post them.![]()

In the meantime, I've finished a Pooh dress for my youngest. It gave me loads of trouble, but I do like how it looks on her. Thanks for letting me share.

I can't take credit for this one! Got it off ebay! Thanks anyway! I did redo the straps around the neck and spent 30 minutes clipping threads off, that they didn't!![]()
just tring to post pics that i had trouble with earlier.
tahlia- i still have to add some straps to this to help it stay up, plus i think it looks too old on her without them.

Ash - didn't want her photo taken

hope they work this time, melissa
These aren't the best pics of her dress, but the others are not uploaded yet.
My daughter makes this terrible squishy face when the cameras out and says Cheese, we can hardly get a picture of her not making it!

Oh, and here is a pillowcase dress made of a vintage snow white sheet set. I made one for each of my 4 girls. They all have snow white doing different things with the 7 dwarfs. Here is image of the front and back.

Ok, how did I miss this thread for so long? I sat up until 3am reading every page and got up early this am to finish! I have bbg tripletswho are 7, but my DD would love the older girl designs and I want to learn to make those pillowcases! Who made the really cute ones a few pages back? Are there directions anywhere?

Hello All - You have all been such an inspiration to me. I used to sew and have just returned from a Disney trip. Unfortunately I found this thread about 10 days before we left for Disney so all I could churn out were some matching t-shirts.
I do have a friend who is going to Disney and I asked to make her an outfit. Her 7 year old daughter is an Ariel fanatic of the highest degree. I simply bought a basic outfit in her size and added to it. I have to say I have not appliqued before and need lots of practice.

Oh and I forgot to say that I also picked up some beads and Ariel stuff for decorating flip flops. I made them into a matching bracelet and necklace. I also used left over ribbon to make a hair bow:
And there you have it folks! Next time we go to Disney, I will be making outfits for us! Or at least altering already existing outfits for Disney. I wish I could do this full time...I love it. That and scrapbooking when I am not out horseback riding or Dissing
Hi all! I haven't posted in a while, I've been really, really busy! Had a yard sale two weekends ago. I made enough to pay for plane tickets and rental car and $175 for spending money!Originally we were driving, so this is great!
I had decided I was done making clothes. I already have more outfits than days being there! I had to make a spreadsheet to figure out which outfits go to what day!!!!!Then Dena had to post that awesome small world outfit. So here is my version! I even made shoes! This is my second attempt at an applique. Not bad I don't think. I still need some more practice. Oh, and I drew the face on. I tried to applique it about six times and kept trashing it.

I have a question. Is there any way to make appliques stay on temporarily? DD is getting a little "old" to wear some of the Disney applique stuff year round, but she would love to wear it for our vacation. I was thinking I could make/buy ie a jungle/leopard outfit and then temporarily afix a Mickey or Minnie head in a jungle print and pin on a ribbon?
Also, she only wears headbands now. Any patterns or info on how to make those? Or the bandana/scarf headbands?
I didn't make this one and it's not Disney, but it's Orlando! I was so excited about it, I had to share! I won this off ebay. It even came with the corker bows! Obviously this is for our Sea World day! Don't mind my DD's crazy wet hair, she just got out of the tub.

Okay ladies- I did my first boys shirt and fancied up some jeans. They are a bit big for ds, but we still have 5 months till WDW so I figure it's better to have it big!! So what do you guys think?

Thanks so much. Honestly we do not know what is going on. They think she is having pedi mal seizures. They are less severe but still scary as can be! We living pretty close to Baltimore and D.C. so we have great hospitals. We are just waiting to be seen. She has to have some testing done but because of her age she has to be sedated.
The good news is everyone has told us she should grow out of all this. That is my hope. She is the sweetest little baby. My DD3 is very high matienance. It is nice to have a break with the little one. The baby has just been spending extra time with Mommy.
Thanks so much for your concern. It is funny because I do not technically know how to sew. I love to sew. I just was never taught the proper methods. It has been very theraputic for me. My DH has had to work at night for the last couple weeks. (He is a project manager.) I have really enjoyed sewing in the evenings when the house is quiet.
I took the girls to JoAnne's yesterday and I was conned into making matching Dorothy costumes for the girls! They are too funny. My DD is three and managed to pull that off!
Hello Ladies,
I just finished Destiny's Ariel outfit. I think she likes it!

Bite your tongue!Have a great trip!!!! Remember boutique clothes do not make the trip!!!
I love that fabric! The dress is adorable!
Ok... I have my 3 rows done for a twirl skirt,,, I am a little nervous since the 3rd row is taller that me lol.
Can someone point me in the right direction to show me how to gather the rows to attach them together.
One of the fabric departments near us was closing recently. They had stopped sending them stuff and were just waiting for it to run out. But, they got so much protest from the customers that they reopened it!There is a rumor going around that our 2 Wally fabric places are closing but the clerk said that it will be open "until further notice" It's always busy there so I don't know what the deal is.
Oh geesh! They are just TOO cute!!!! Great job on the dresses too!okay everyone...your first opportunity to see my first attempt at applique (and your first look at my twins). Here are my pillowcase dresses for the girls. Im making some matching tutus for the big girls to match.

While I was out looking for a serger threader at a small fabric shop I go to every now and again, I noticed a backroom that I had never seen before. In there, they had all of their deeply discounted items. Guess what? I found the most DARLING Chip & Dale fabric!! I've never even seen Chip & Dale fabric before and this was not only incredible quality at an unbelieveable price (1.99/yd.)--but it's simply TDF!! It's one of the cutest Disney prints I've seen in a while and it's super, super RARE! They had lots of it. I bought only about 2 yards, but I'm tempted to go back for more. It'd be perfect for a boy or a girl! I really love it!

I love the Friends around the world fabric and the coordinating fabric with the writing. I just got some on Sunday and I have been wondering if it was too "girly"to make something for DS out of it?
I am definatey making a dress for DD but am wondering if it could be used to applique some of the boys in the fabric on some denim shortalls? I love the faces on the shoes!
Please share your opinions or ideas!![]()
I think this fabric would look awesome on a boys style camp shirt. A while back someone posted pics using busy fabrics in a strip on each side of the front and the rest a solid color. I picture this on black or blue. I think it would look awesome, then applique the boys on the pant legs or back pockets would be awesome!
I was also going to ask you all, several pages back somebody mentioned that they'd be willing to pick up some from "Friends Around the World" fabric at their Hancocks and ship to those who wanted it but couldn't get it. I'd love to find out who this was and see if they could possibly pick some up for me. Have fun sewing and playing with your kiddos today everyone!
That was meI can see if they have any left. THey were almost at the end of the bolt when I got there
I played around with the shirt I made DS (in photoshop, of course) and this is what I came up with using images of the friends fabric:
The shirt pattern is Simplicity 4287
The shirt I sewed that I used to edit/photoshop the design below:

Gave me these results:
