Yes! I did the applique myself. I have a lot of fun trying to do them by drawing them free hand and then taking them apart.. I ran out of plain red fabric so Ihad to use the stars like in the skirt.. It works! Thanks for the compliment! Now I have to go fix that button!

I did not say I was going to post it but here is the one I made. I am very happy with the way it turned out.

She is absolutely beautiful! The dress is so cute! My daughter (Arminda) saw it and said she wants one! And, I just LOVE the picture of her holding a picture of her!

:rotfl:

I can see it now:

CUSTOM BOUTIQUE MICKEY MATCHING V-NECK JUMPSUITS FOR DAD AND BOY - A must have for your trip to Disney World!

BUY IT NOW: $300
Oh geesh! That is funny!!!!
Here is a pic of the cinderella dresses I made my girls.

I am having a problem with the ties on the one dress not staying tight and the top falling to show to much chest. Any advice?

cinderelladresses.jpg
They look beautiful! My suggestion, if all the others don't work, would be to put in wider ribbon, and maybe sew the ribbon where it goes into the casing so that it doesn't have as much weight pulling on it. (hope that makes sense).
OK. . .you ASKED for it!!!! Let's just say that I CAN'T wear those cute tank tops that someone made earlier!!! The girls just don't work that way. And that is EXACTLY what I told my sister when I went to try on the dress she had picked out.

That's me to the left of her. . .and the BABY sister on the far right!!! She is growing to fast!!!

You look GORGEOUS!!! Thanks for the pictures!

I just don't see what's so funny about this studly outfit!! :rotfl2: I'll let you know when I list them on ebay so you can buy it for your DS! I was thinking of a BIN of $400, though. These are one of a kind creations, after all! :snooty:

You know, for some reason, my DH didn't seem to appreciate me posting that picture on the board! Go figure...

I was going to ask you if Henry knew you were posting these pictures of him! :lmao:

Dh was walking past the computer as I was seeing this. He's used to me staring at outfits online for ideas, tips, etc, so when he saw that on the screen he says at the top of his lungs "OH H#*L NO !!!!" :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I almost fell over laughing :rotfl2: :rotfl2: He thought we had officially gone over the deep end :lmao: :lmao:

I can see it now, all our husbands will be in Disney World in matchin jumpsuits!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Tell him that we went over the deep end a long time ago!!!!!!!

Heather you need help!!!! :rotfl:

Actually, she did have help. I told her to put the Mickey ears on it! :rotfl:

Ok, I just felt like taking up a whole page with my posts! Sorry...

I forgot that I wanted to show you guys this. Wickedmom75 on the Creative DISign board made this design for me when I sent her pics of the Elvis fabric that I bought. I'm thinking of making ribbon t's with this ironed on, then a skirt or skorts made with the Elvis, yellow and lt.blue. Do you guys think this graphic is too busy? I was thinking of putting it on a yellow shirt to match the yellow fabric I bought to match the Elvis. Any ideas (stripwork jumper? patchwork? anything?)

Oh yeah, these outfits are for the girls to wear to breakfast at Ohana on our last morning.

I tried resizing the images, but for some reason it didn't work. Sorry!
Lydia saw your post and said, "Hey, they put Elvis on it now!" Too funny she remembered your outfit from the first time you posted it! She really likes it!

Well here it is. It took me a couple of days because I have been so busy but I am pretty happy with Emma's JoJo.. I plan to make some purple capris to go with it and when my ribbon comes (hopefully tomorrow) I will make some bows.. Now my 6 year old wants a JoJo outfit! If I keep this up we will have way to many outfits to bring on the trip! Does this mean I have a reason to plan another trip soon? :lmao:

EEEK! I need to fix that left side!!!! It is way lower than the right!!! Can you tell I am a rookie??!!!

It's adorable! You did a gret job!

Cute dresses! I'm not sure if this will work for you, but maybe it's an idea (someone from this thread recommended it to me.) Maybe you could try square-knots instead of bows. I did it on my pillowcase dress (see below) and it seems to work well and still looks cute.:
nemoDress_400.jpg

If, like me, you don't know how to tie a square-knot, here are the instructions I was given.
-- Put the left tie over the right tie, then tuck under
-- Then put the right tie over the left tie, tuck under and pull tight.

Good luck.

Hey that was ME who gave that advice and instructions! So glad I actually helped someone on here! Nothing holds like a good ole squeare knot either!

I haven't been on the board for the last few days because I have been busily sewing!! I had been looking for a pattern to make matching father/son boutique outfits. When my sister posted the pattern for the men's jumpsuit, I knew I had found the perfect matching outfits! I disneyed them up , added some yellow crocs, and ta-da!!! As you can see, DH and DS LOVE their new outfits!!

diet coke all over the screen!!!!

I thought it was you, but then I wasn't sure... so I'm sorry I didn't give you credit by name, but the square knot works like a charm. Thanks! :)

I worked in a kinda boutique girls clothing store in High school, I tied all of the belts like that, and people would say, "oooh that looks so nice, how did you do it?" I was so popular :goodvibes I think I learned how to do it in Girl Scouts!!

I think I learned how to do it in Girl Scouts!!

LOL! Just look at what I would have learned if I'd stuck with it. I got out of Girl Scouts in Brownies. The girls in my troop would literally come to blows over who got to pass out the napkins for snack time, etc.. I couldn't take the stress. (you probably think I'm kidding.) LOL!

Thanks for teaching me the art of the square knot. I have a pair of pants with a fabric belt and now I tie it in a square knot, too... and it looks ever-so-much nicer than a plain knot.

Ny twirly top turned into a twirly dress... I haven't got all of the frill on , but I'll try to get a pic uploaded.

...t.

I forgot to multi-quote, so I'll try to remember all I wanted to say... PLUS add pics of what I made today!!!!! :woohoo:

Your dresses are very cute! I have that same fabric for dd6 and I'm working on a plan for a dress for CRT, but don't know what yet. I made a pillowcase top for her and used the ribbon method but the ribbons kept falling out, so I got the front and back gathered where I liked it and stitched the ends so the ribbon wouldn't fall out. If it's satin ribbon, you might want to consider switching to something less slippery. Not sure if that helped, but thought I'd try.

Blake - nice twirl skirt, my first one is below!

Whoever posted the Fall Trends link... :thanks:

Very nice Alice dress!

And, beautiful wedding pics especially the kiddos!

Now for my big unveiling..... I made a tulle twirly skirt!!!!!!! I'm so psyched! I can't believe how easy it was, well the tulle jerked me around for a minute, but I showed it who was boss!!!! What kind of top do you guys think would look good with it? And what fabric? Seriously, I'm stumped here!

DSC00023-1.jpg

This one looks a little faded, I don't know what's up with my camera?
DSC00022.jpg

Now, before you say "oh my, she posted a pic that almost shows her dds bum" She did have shorts on, so it didn't come up that far!
DSC00019-1.jpg

Also, not Disney, but I made this for ebay maybe. We're no longer Titans fans, and I had this fabric just lying around and thought I'd do something to replenish the funds that I've depleted to feed by new obsession!! Do you all think it's ebay worthy?

Ohhh I love this twirly skirt. I like the length of it and your DD can TWIRL!

I think the Titans top is ebay worthy! Just put it up and see what happens but you did a great job.

I think the graphic is a little too busy. I would keep the Lilo and the elvis and maybe eliminate the middle thing. It will be cute with the Skirts though. I saw a few variations of the Elvis fabric at Hancock's in Morrow, GA today.

Ok. Here is my first Disney print top. My dd10 of course will not wear it to school because Pooh is too BABY for her. She will however wear it out with me!?!?! I love it though. It took me a long time but I will keep practicing. She is just out of the shower with pj bottoms on but I had to get it on here. :thumbsup2 The other is a twirly skirt I made from some fabric at Wallyworld. Of course it is too baby too:confused3 , so I will have to resize the elastic for a friend of mines daughter. --- Mindy

I think I would like the graphic more if it didn't have the material print behind the Minnie ears. I think a stripwork skirt would look cute with this. I would make sure the strips were wide enough to see the Elvis graphics clearly. A circle skirt cut into panels would be cute too.(like the pink and black hidden mickey one a few hundred pages ago)

I showed this to Brian (dh) and he was all but rolling on the floor laughing! He couldn't even catch his breath! He really thought the Crocs added just the right touch! :rotfl2:

I used Simplicity #4568 (H). It is one of the "Lizzy McGuire" ones. I thought my little 'tween would love it, Oh well -- it just gives me an excuse to make more stuff:rolleyes1 .

I would wear it! I want to make one in that style for Arminda. I will look for that pattern. Thanks!

Have any of you used the simplicity Hannah Montana pattern? I don't sew but my MIL does & I was going to ask her to make DD some clothes for Christmas. Since she has a love of all things Hannah right now, I thought the pattern would be perfect. TIA!

Hi Everyone!! Love all the new creations! Looks like everyone has been busy! Well I got the mermaid outfit done. I gave it to my friends DD tonight, and she is in the bottom picture wearing it. It's too big :( Her mom doesn't care, they seem to love it. I had her tried on the very top piece a week ago and it seemed to snug to me, so I started over:headache: ... Sure she will grow into it, but I wanted it to fit better. I am going to make her a better fitting one to match my DD. I had to share though. I will try to remember to post pictures tomorrow of my DD from the wedding. She was a stinker and when it came time to actually be the flower girl she chickened out. I thought that might happen!

I couldn't find any red that I liked, so I went with the mermaid, and put some more rick rack on it :goodvibes

For some reason in the pictures she looks like she could be 8 foot tall! My fabric wasn't that long. lol :confused3
