ok, i know this was posted way back and i think again a few pages ago, but my brain is not working (just finished a week of VBS at church) and my son broke my sewing machine a few hours ago (ill get to that in a minute!) so my question is how do i "make" and attach a ruffle from material. so many of these darling skirts have a ruffle made of all of the fabric colors in the skirt and i think i want to try. im gonna put a plain white one on another skirt, but ill buy that ruffle by the yard and walmart and save myself some time!
on to the sewing machine crisis....i finally moved it from the kitchen table to a table in the basement (boy was dh happy!) anyway, my son tripped over the cord and it came crashing off the table. the big black wheel thingie on the side busted to shreds (sorry, dont know its real name!) not the little knob that moves the needle, but the bigger outter wheel/knob thing. the machine actually still sews, but the machine shakes (think washer off balanced) my dh thinks its cause part of that wheel is missing and when it spins around, its off balance. does anyone know if it can be fixed? the machine was a handmedown from mil. its an old (20 + yrs) pfaff hobbymatic. (story goes that she paid a small fortune for it and never used it!) anyway, theres no # to call- just a germany address!![]()
im thinking i should just hint for a new one (bday around the corner). so, whats a good (im basic new sewer- pj pants, twirl skirts), easy to use machine in the $200 price range?
thanks!
I bought my Sears Kenmore for under $200. It's a Consumer Reports best rated machine for the $$$ for several years running. It's a great, easy-to-use machine and *gasp* custom buttonholes are a breeze!
), Are you going to buy the dress with the blue in it for your dd?

I said the exact same thing to my husband when we saw the video. He even contacted stores at Disney and searched online trying to get the bag for Mother's Day- but no luck. Can anyone help? We're going to DW in Sept. and would love to have that bag!
I can't believe it. I'm so discouraged right now I could cry. It's beyond repair and I'm almost too discouraged to start it over again due to the bad memories. Maybe I'll remake the top after I've moved on to something else with better success. I just can't believe it, aside from the stupid snap, the top worked perfectly---130" of ruffle detailing and all.
I decided to give up on that and just so happen I found a pillow panel at
) Yours looks so similar! I like that your fabric is different. Ours will be worn over Christmas, so I like my corduroy material, but love your fabric for a regular trip!!
