At first I didn't realize the hair on the face was hair at all...so I see what you are saying. Personally, I like the booty one for a treat bag. Only some weirdo would think anything of it, but I think it would have to be on say, a shirt or your pants pockets for it to be construed that other way. pirate:

LOL about the hair. It does look a little funny, huh? I think the "booty" thing might be cute.

Thanks for responding....you're the only one! :rolleyes1

Steph you did an excellent job and your DD is just beautiful in your creation! I love the combinations of prints. Its eyecatching. Just so you know when she wears it you are going to get two questions: "Wow where did you get her outfit..its beautiful?" and when you tell them you made it the next question will be, "Did you make something for each park?". Trust me I went thru it one day. I had made t-shirts for our AK day. Believe when I say they were very basic. Well, we got so much attention wearing them. I almost couldnt wait to get back to the hotel and take them off. So....in that dress...yessh....she'll be put in the parade or something!! :rotfl2: Keep up the good work! :thumbsup2 See even DH wants you to make something...a real compliment!

Well, thanks to Nana I am going to try to make her something for Epcot and I did order the minnie dot fabric so I think I am covered. My daughter is constantly seeing things on this thread that she wants me to try to copy, so I have to blame everyone here for our success. She will love the attention, believe me! Thank you so much for your compliments.

I finished my DD AK outfit, or so I thought. I loved the fabric for the top and since she is almost 8 I wanted to not make it Disney, but something she could wear elsewhere. Now that it is done I find myself wanting to put some Mickey heads on or something, but not sure what to do. The shorts are made of a linen material, not just cotton and are pretty themselves as they are. I don't want to ruin it, but can't help but think about how to make it more Disney. Any suggestions??

Also Thank you to Dena I think for the idea of using dental floss for gathers/ruffles. I was taught at sewing class to use the bobbin thread and could never do it on my own at home, so I had quit doing them all together until that suggestion.

Maybe a mickey head embroidered on the front in black, to go with the shorts? I really can't think of anything I would do to change it, it really looks good!

you did an awesome job! you know every halter top or dress I do I always have to make the elastic tighter than the pattern shows. I think my kids are just not the right size for that adjuster they put there.

lori

Thanks, Lori. I was doing the top while she was asleep but next time I will know not to finish until she tries it on so I can make adjustments. Thanks!

Here are the fabrics that I bought yesterday at Hobby Lobby.
I'm not sure what I will do with the Nemo fabric, I just thought it was cute.

Love that Nemo fabric and this princess toile. I wish we had a Hobby Lobby near me.

I had to remove some of my pictures thanks to some mean and nasty person on this thread. Please get a hobby and stop causing trouble!!!!!!!!!! :sad2:

I don't understand either: they weren't of your kids but they were your worK? I have appreciated what you have posted: it is nice to get ideas. My daughter especially loves "shopping" on this thread.

I'm sorry I meant to but forgot. I think I like the one you linked to the best. Very cute for a three year old. I think the booty one is cute too: totally appropriate for a little kid.

Well, here it is, my very first completed sewing outfit. Before this, the only thing I have ever sewn were 2 baby blankets (which were within the past month). I bought my sewing machine because DH was having a heart attack over how much money I was spending on customs for DD. Hopefully, I will get good enough that I won't have to buy many more customs. Any way. .. here it is custom NEMO (DD is the model -- she has half of a POC tattoo on her cheek :confused3). Also, ignore the dirty pool ... I didn't clean it this morning because I have been sewing this outfit.

Need some opinions...

I have an adorable pirate tutu set for DD for Halloween. I want to make her a cool Trick or Treat bag to match, so I bought a black tote at Hobby Lobby, but I can't decide what to put on it.

I thought this was cute, but the hair bothers me a little. (DD is only 3, so not too scary!)

Or I thought this was sort of cute for a ToT bag...booty=candy...pirate: but maybe too "suggestive" for a 3 year old? :confused3 (not to me, but I guess other people might think its weird?)

Or there's this face, too, which I can only link to.

Or I'm open to any other suggestions! Thanks!
I like the pirate girl in the link you posted best. I also like the pirate mickey heads that people put on t-shirts. But I am not sure it would show up on the black bag... hmmm... maybe make it out of red fabric? I don't know. What about "Don't touch me treasure!" If you are worried about booty.

Here is some quick ideas for you from our last trip a few weeks ago!

Belle costume - there is a pattern for one I think it is simplicity. now is the perfect time of year with halloween stuff just coming out!

Mgm - try something fun and bright!

Animal Kingdom is the most fun to plan for - go crazy with animal prints

Thanks so much for your ideas! I love the claws!!!

Whoohoo!!! I got my Tinkerbell and Pan tees today!!! Both kids are sleeping so no models :sad1: , yet!! I'm working on a tink tutu skirt so when thats done I'll post more pics.

I "requested" the peter pan tee. She doesn't do shirts for boys often so it was her first time doing Pan and Hook.

The pink princess is a must!!! I have to go through the photobucket photos tonight.

Ok, her are some of my favs. Since you'rre going in Feb. Or Mar I wouldn't suggest shorts, maybe capris ar skirts (you can always layer leggings under skirts)

Pirate twirl corset oh so cute!!!

Or something more practical.

Very Minnie!! You could always layer a top under the halter

Animal Kingdom, again easy to add a layer

Are we not allowed to post pics of our own kids wearing custom clothes we have bought? I haven't posted any pics of anything yet, but I don't want to do something I shouldn't be doing on this thread *if* I decided to post something. Someone please PM me, thanks! :goodvibes

I like Tink the best. Are those airbrushed? They really look great! :thumbsup2

Yes, those are my kids in the pictures. I did not make any of the outfits. The pictures that I had to remove were of the adorable outfits that "the_seamstress" made for me. She is an awesome person and does FLAWLESS work!!!!!!!!!!! I want to make sure that everyone knows how wonderful she is and that she was NOT the person that I was referring to.

I am not quite sure who is the cause of all this trouble so I just thought that it would be best to remove the pictures and be done with it!!!! I really do love to share pictures of my kids in their boutique outfits but I may have to be more careful in the future!!!!

SORRY!!!!!

These are cool! Are they painted?
Who did them for you? I'd love more info :)

HLAuburn- Is that first one a patch? If so maybe you could trim the hair off? I liked the link one it is more girly. The booty one is cute for a bag. You could put some candy's around it that would be even better.

The pirate face is actually an applique design, not a patch. I guess I might be able to skip that step on the design, but it's the only thing that really makes it "girly".

I think I'll go with the booty and treasure.

Thanks!

What was the problem?! Why did you remove your pictures?!:confused3 I'm so confused, They're your pictures, your kids so what was the problem? You weren't telling us you made the outfits, in fact you told us to pm you if we wanted the sellers info. I guess I missed something!!

Well, not too much sewing today. I finished an apron top that I had been working on. It has Epcot on one side, and Disney on the other. It's reversible.

The pictures don't do it justice. I love how it came out. I even did the straps reversible. One side is black and the other is white. I still have little Mickey heads to sew onto the ends of the ties and then I think it will be completed. Yea!

Can anyone share what pattern they use for their pillowcase dresses? I looked at the links from teresajoy but the MS one I found only went up to 18 months. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place.

Thanks Aimee
