I just cut out Nemo from the fabric with wonder under on the back side and ironed them on. For the the greenish dots, I used a fabric marker, and the rhinestones already had the iron on stuff on the back. The canvas shoes were $4 at Walmart!

Wow! I love the shoes, they really pull the whole outfit together. I just wish I had a little little girl who I could make all this kind of stuff for (and grandchildren are SOOOO far off)! Anyhoo, I really like this fabric, so anything done with it always looks fabulous to me! Great job! :dance3:

Where on earth do you get that adorable fabric? I'm *thinking* about making an Epcot outfit for my daugther, but can't find the fabric anywhere!

Help!

Linda

I think I am going to try my hand at applique tonight!! I know I need the fusible web to put fuse the applique to the shirt (or whatever) but I have also read I need stabilizer on the inside of the shirt. Any suggestions? Also, what kind of fusible web do I get? Wonder Under I think is what I saw!

I know there is some applique discussion in here somewhere but this thread has become so large I can't find it!!!

"Friends around the world" and the coordinating one has no markings on it.

I just called my Hancocks Fabrics and they had 3 yards of it! WOO HOO! It's all mine!

I have no clue what I'm going to make with it, but at least I've got the yardage! :lmao:

Now, I've just got to make the drive out there!

I am looking for a cross front halter pattern. I found one, but it didn't go over size 4 and I need it in a 6....

If anyone has seen one, I'd love a suggestion! Thanks!

Simplicity 4568 is a cross front...you can do sleeves or sleeveless. It's a full back though, not halter. But it's cute!

I used wonder under and "Totally Stable Iron-on, Tear away Stabilizer" by Sulky for the back of the shirt, and have had no problems what so ever with it. So it must be the right stuff. At my Hobby Lobby it hangs in the Sulky thread display. It helps to have a 40% off coupon, otherwise it's $11.

Congrats!! You'll come up with something. I had mine for a while and decided not to use it, because it was so busy and I hadn't seen an outfit using it that I fell in love with. Then Dena posted hers, and I already had all the fabric she used and it was amazing, so I copied!:rolleyes1

Would you share how you did the bow! It is fabulous!!! The more bling the better for my babe!

That sounds really nice!

My DD is started having seizures a couple days after we got home from WDW. They started ont the 4th of July. It has been very scary becuase they have been so sudden. We are going through a lot of doctors stuff right now so we squashed the birthday bash. We are going to have cake and ice cream at the community pool. The grandparents are coming and my girls have the cutest mermaid bathing suits from Gymboree.

When the baby turns 13 months we are going to have a big Un-birthday party. We are going to do an Alice in Wonderland Tea Fun Party an invite the whole family. I am really looking forward to the party.

DD3 did pick out a really super Tinker Bell cake for the baby. They were sold out of Minnie Mouse. That was her first pick.

I'm so sorry to hear about your DD. That's really scary. I do hope it's nothing serious and that she'll be back to feeling like herself soon.

Okay ladies- I did my first boys shirt and fancied up some jeans. They are a bit big for ds, but we still have 5 months till WDW so I figure it's better to have it big!! So what do you guys think?

I'm not exactly sure how I did it to be honest. Lots of hot glue and luck. I started with the back turqouise ribbon and sort of did a figure 8 across the barrette and hot glued it at every point. Then I did the other ribbons the same. Needless to say the barrette looked pretty bad so I glued an orange piece lengthwise to cover all the ugly glue spots. The curly ribbon I pulled out of another bow my dd had never worn, (it had way too many colors in it) and tied them in Knot in the middle and glued each one of them down. It still didn't look right, so stuck a wooden flower on top, with rhinestone, then added one to each side because it wasn't balanced yet and Wha-La! We have a bow. The whole thing took me less than ten minutes.

I have a question. Is there any way to make appliques stay on temporarily? DD is getting a little "old" to wear some of the Disney applique stuff year round, but she would love to wear it for our vacation. I was thinking I could make/buy ie a jungle/leopard outfit and then temporarily afix a Mickey or Minnie head in a jungle print and pin on a ribbon?

Also, she only wears headbands now. Any patterns or info on how to make those? Or the bandana/scarf headbands?

I saw a cute idea by a children's clothing brand I like. They used a large decorative button in the center of the bodice and buttoned on a heart applique. That way it could be removed. The heart had satin or blanket-stitched edges and had a buttonhole sewn in the ceter. This would actually be quite cute with the right button and a safari themed mickey ears silhoutte applique. I may have to try it myself.

Thanks so much. Honestly we do not know what is going on. They think she is having pedi mal seizures. They are less severe but still scary as can be! We living pretty close to Baltimore and D.C. so we have great hospitals. We are just waiting to be seen. She has to have some testing done but because of her age she has to be sedated.

The good news is everyone has told us she should grow out of all this. That is my hope. She is the sweetest little baby. My DD3 is very high matienance. It is nice to have a break with the little one. The baby has just been spending extra time with Mommy.

Thanks so much for your concern. It is funny because I do not technically know how to sew. I love to sew. I just was never taught the proper methods. It has been very theraputic for me. My DH has had to work at night for the last couple weeks. (He is a project manager.) I have really enjoyed sewing in the evenings when the house is quiet.

I took the girls to JoAnne's yesterday and I was conned into making matching Dorothy costumes for the girls! They are too funny. My DD is three and managed to pull that off!

I too am sorry about your little one. Please keep in mind there are several types of seizures and "seizure disorders" as they call them. I always tell my patients parents that my sister has epilepsy, and is a Pediatric Intensive Care Physician, so it is by no means the end of the world. DC Childrens and Hopkins in Baltimore both have good reputations, so you are going to the right places.:grouphug: for you worries!

I started by watching the videos in order and practicing along with them. I did every stitch a few times before I started on Ariel's face. I outlined everything in black with the whipped backstitch first and then filled it in with the satin stitch. I traced it first and kept referring to the coloring page I had printed out to make sure it looked right. It wasn't very difficult, just time consuming. I'm just learning to sew and I'd never embroidered anything before. So, I was pretty pleased with how it turned out!

Could you please post the website with the videos...I know it's back there somewhere, but I'm apparently too lazy to search through the last 100 pages, :rotfl2:

You did SUCH an awesome job. I have to hide it from my Ariel-loving daughter, because I KNOW it'll be a month of Sundays before I can do that. But I'm willing to try....just away from her :rotfl:

Thanks!
Jan
