Does anyone have a problem with sons feels ignored? My son said today that he never gets any attention because I am always making stuff with my daughter. I am going to spend more one-on-one time with him, but does anyone have any suggestions?

I find myself in the same situation. I have tons of projects in progress for DD, but nothing for DS's. Aside from camp/hawaiian shirts and overalls, what is there really? I think my oldest has reached his pirate limit too (have no idea why with me and DD being pirate addicts! :rotfl: ) and the cartoon stuff is just not his style. I have to find a way to balance this out, but if anyone has ideas...I'd love to hear them. DD2 doesn't know or really care about any outfits yet, so we are safe with him thus far.

Wow, that is impressive! I went to the site you linked but didn't know where to start. Did you use a particular stitch? Did you trace the eyes first--I don't do needle point besides learning to sew--that would be something else to add to the list!

Sorry, I didn't see your question before. I started by watching the videos in order and practicing along with them. I did every stitch a few times before I started on Ariel's face. I outlined everything in black with the whipped backstitch first and then filled it in with the satin stitch. I traced it first and kept referring to the coloring page I had printed out to make sure it looked right. It wasn't very difficult, just time consuming. I'm just learning to sew and I'd never embroidered anything before. So, I was pretty pleased with how it turned out!

DARLING, DARLING outfits. But I must ask, what on earth is a photopass? How does I get one? Do you know if they are available at Disneyland too?

Thanks!!

When you go to Disney World and a photographer takes your picture, they give you a little credit card looking thing and it's called a Photopass. You keep it and give it to each person that takes your picture. Then, you can go online (and I think you can view them somewhere in the park, but I've never done that) and see your pictures and order them. You can choose to pay a flat rate and receive all of the pictures on the photopass on CD. You can get as many pictures taken as you want. My sister probably had 100's of pictures on hers! The best part was that she was actually IN her Disney pictures this time! I don't know if it's available at Disneyland, though.

I have had the same problem with the boys. I have one dd and two ds. So after two dresses and a skirt for dd, I am making a camp shirt for each son, then some pajamas, etc. I take them to the fabric store and let them pick out fabric. Ds5 picks weird stuff so I plan to make some things from his choices and some from my choices. Ds1 doesn't argue yet so I get to make him whatever I want :rotfl2: I don't think the kids care what we make as long as it's for them and they get to participate too  But you are right it is definitely a challenge :surfweb:

hello everyone, can i join too?

i have been lurking in this thread since it started. Everyone has done such an amazing job on their outfits. I actually went and brought myself a sewing/embroidery machine so i could try to make some of these outfits.

i live in australia and unfortunately hasn't been to disney yet:sad1: but hoping to one day ( we have 4 children and the youngest is only 10 months, we want to wait until he is older before making the long trip).

i wanted to share some pictures of the outfits of i been working on. now i just have to figure out how to post photos....

thanks, melissa.

this is my daughter Ashlia she will be 3 next month and loves strawberry shortcake. i made her the twirl skirt and brought a plain white singlet from target from the clearance bin for $2 i embroided the face onto the singlet and handsewed on the red ribbon on her hat. i also added the green ribbon bow and the little strawberry button.

please excuse her hair, she just hoped out of the bath and wanted to put the outfit on straight away.

i have also made some simple dresses, i will post them later ,

thanks , melissa

Adorable daughter and love the set...

I couldn't get to the baby bib today for my BFF's DD (too much time at JoAnn's looking for a fabric I *think* I saw there about a month ago, and now really, really want... didn't find it though... oh well.) I did finish the diaper wipe case. This is the first time I have made one of these. I hope future ones go together quicker. I'm not thrilled with the ribbon around the edges; I really wanted to use a braided trim but could only find it in white and black at JoAnn's.

Wow, that strawberry shortcake is just perfect! My daughter would be jealous! I can't wait to see what else you have made!

Thanks for the responses about my son. He is almost 8 and wears t-shirts and basketball shorts exclusively. Anything I show him on here or Ebay he doesn't like. I think Aimeeg is right, he must just want more of my time. I hadn't realized how much time my daughter and I were spending, looking at outfits on here, picking out fabrics and patterns, etc. It must be hard on him. I am going to take him out to the movies this weekend and hopefully I can give him a little extra alone time this week as well.

Wow, I LOVE it! This looks so professional! My niece will go crazy over it as she loves Strawberry Shortcake (I got her some $1 Strawberry Shortcake flip-flops at Target and you would have thought I gave her a pot of gold).

This is a really cute idea. Could you give me a quick tutorial on how you did it? Thanks!

I have a DD who is almost 6 and I have made 5 disney dresses for her this week and NOTHING for DS10 and DS7. They would not wear camp shirts much less overalls. So I bought each of them 3 white t-shirts. We are going to tie dye them and then I am going to applique plain black mickey face outlines on them. My boys said "cool" to that.

Have you considered making some pajama pants? I have made pajama pants for all of us.

Going to the movies is with him is a good idea. Or take all the kids to the pool for an afternoon. My kids are younger so when they want me to play with them we just do a puzzle inside or I push them on the swings.

If I may add to this, one of the specially made pillowcases might be really nice. It's not clothes, but you will have made it just for him. Perhaps some quick iron on for a t-shirt. WallyWorld has some embroidery patches you could E6000 glue on.

My boys don't want me to sew anyhting for them, but they do like special touches on t-shirts that I have planned just for them.

Oh! What if you worked with a Disigner on some iron-ons that are customized? That would be fun.

I just finished this today. I think it turned out super cute. What do you think? I used Butterick Pattern no. 4469 I bought the fabrics at JoAnn's.

Moms don't forget to make a little something for yourselves!:flower3: I just wish I knew how to make one of those Mickey Head button bracelets.

I really like that! Heather, (hkite) we should make matching shirts for our trip!

It's great! We had SO much fun doing this! We had one photographer in EPCOT that took a bunch of candid shots of the kids playing. (We went together with some people and shared the CD costs)

ok, i will try and get this right.

OH WOW!!! Lydia LOVES this!!! She told me, "Every time you come on here, go to THAT outfit!" I love your daughter's name, that is so pretty, just like her! And, is anyone else suprised to hear there are Target's in Australia??:confused3

My 15 year old son is getting jealous, of the things I'm making his sisters, and wants me to make him a kite!

See my response to the outfit? You know your neice pretty well! She loves those flip flops too!

I think for your next project, you should do Strawberry Shortcake, don't you think?
