After browsing through menus for the DDP, it looks like kids get a choice of ice cream sundae or fruit salad for table service meals and just Jello for counter service meals.

For those of you who experienced the plan with your kids, is this the case in just about all the places to eat? If there are any exceptions that you know of, could you please share.

I am not too worried about desserts but am rather curious. Will I have to share my desserts at times? :scared: :rotfl2: Thanks so much!

Have no fear. Its easier than you think to sub out the kids possibly lame desserts. First off, in some of the TS w/ ice cream, its a *make your own sundae* which the shorties find muchly enjoyable. In additon everyone 10 or older gets to order an adult dessert. AMPLE to share, I'm sure:woohoo:

We had a child on our plan and we always just ordered off the dessert menu for CS places. We were able to get cookies, cake, ice cream or whatever. No one ever said he could only have Jello. He always wanted ice cream at TS places so it was never a problem.

It's nice to know that we may be able to get other things besides Jello at times. I'm sure Jello will be fine a couple of times but everyday, I think not. One dessert a day is really fine, I believe, but heck, we will be on vacation and it's nice to just let loose at times. Ice cream sundaes I'm sure will go over well with my kids.

There have been so many complaints over kids menus on the DDP that I was a little worried at first, but I think my kids will be just fine. We are all totally looking forward to this vacation!!!!!

It seems that starting in January, substitutions for kids desserts at counter service places were limited or non-existant. I'm not going to worry about it now. We're going later in the year and they have time to change the program.

The CS jello is sugar free, BTW.

When we went in December, we asked at a couple CS places if we could get a different dessert for the kids. Nope. I suppose if someone argues loudly enough (or gets a complacent enough CM) you might be able to substitute something a little more ... you know, dessert-like.
