Does anyone know what kids can order for CS breakfasts at the resorts- we'll be at the WL(Roaring Forks). Do only the kids menu items, such as a pancake platter, count, or can they get cereal and a carton of milk using their CS credits. I'm trying to find a way to use all our CS credits, because I know we'll be paying OOP for a lot of CS lunches because of the poor offerings. I don't want to use our SC at breakfast, but are sure to have a lot of extra CS credits.

I'm not sure you should plan to pay OOP for lots of CS meals. I would recommend you plan your CS meals so that your kids can get things they will like. We found the adult meals to have plenty of food so we shared the adult meals between 2 or 3 of us.

I think using CS for breakfast is very smart:
- Order the breakfast platter: eggs, meats, potatoes and bread(s), there is plenty to share and you can get 2 drinks, we chose water and either a juice or milk, we took the water to the park, thus SAVING a snack credit

For lunch I think there are several options:
- on the Dining Plan info Sticky at the top of this page there is a list of CS restaurants that don't have a kids menu, thus your kids order what you'd order, know those places and use them (pizza, fish, hotdogs to name a few)
- Get an adult meal to share and add a side item w/a snack credit
- Be sure to use combo meals, I ordered a pizza, CM informed me that I could get a combo meal which meant side salad, the salad was enough for me and nephew was delighted with the pizza, we still got a drink and dessert item

We actually had CS credits left at the end of our stay, we used them just as we were leaving, but those were harder to use because we always shared CS meals and we had a TS meal daily

As for your original question, can you get cereal and milk as a CS breakfast on the kids menu, we did not try it so I can't answer based on our experience. I will say we used a couple of snack credits for Entenmann's donuts and cinnamon buns for the room so we had something to grab on days when we did not stop at the food court for breakfast. Also you can get yogurt as a dessert item, so we did that and saved it for breakfast or a late night snack. I think the CS portion of the plan offers the most flexibility.

Our 5yo was excited to see the Uncrustables (who knew :confused3 ), ate mac and cheese and pizza and was pretty happy. He also does well with breakfast so that worked as well.

I would be very stingy spending money OOP with the plan, I'd start my kids on the kinds menus, use those "adult" CS places and then and only then would I come OOP. We never did and we had a vegetarian kid on the plan!

Have a magical trip!

Thanks for all your experience and time for this reply. I certainly understand the theory behind your suggestions, but some just cannot work out for a family of our size. We have 4 young boys. If we only had one boy to please, it sure would be easier to chose places ahead of time and plan accordingly, but with only 2 kids choices on the menu, we're sure to have someone not like the choices and want something on the more diverse adult menu. Boy, when we only had the oldest it sure would have been easy finding a place every day that had something he liked on the kids menu. The other point is pure selfish, I want to enjoy some lunches such as the tuna or fish at CHH, or the burgers at Pecos Bills, and could never have them with my kids having the kid choices at those places. I personally don't like the hot dogs at Caseys, though I ate them the last time so everyone else could get the hot dogs. And going to 2 stnads would just waste too much precious park time!! I know some days we can find one CS place to please all, but not all days. I'm so torn about the DDP because of this. But doing the math, because we do plan to go to TS rests. each day, it costs less, or even, minus snacks, to do DDP. I'm really not looking to "get the best bargain for the money" on the DDP, just spend less than OOP. I know getting cereal and milk instead of using it for a lunch CS doesn't "maximize" the plan, but I think that I'd pay OOP around $4, and the kids CS meals are around $4, so it should be a wash. It seems that we would spend around the same amount a day or more OOP, and the SC would be bonuses. Its just the tricky kids CS meals that is holding me up on deciding for DDP. Oh, the decisions!!

I found the CMs very helpful, be sure to ask and I'm sure they'll guide you. I know I had some concerns because we are a vegetarian family, but it worked out. We only ate CS in the parks a couple of times: Peco Bills (yuck), Main St bakery( yum) and Seasons at Epcot, that's one to keep in mind as it is a food court with lots of choices, but with central registers! I wasn't with my family when they ate there, but reports were it was good. Here are the Children's Selections as noted on an Aug 2006 Menu: not chicken nuggets or PB&J!

Sweet and Sour Chicken and Beverage $3.99
Mini Sub and Beverage $3.99
Macaroni and Cheese with Beverage $3.99
Chicken Leg with Mashed Potatoes and Beverage $3.99

You know your family, good luck!
