I was wondering if anyone has any information about the kids clubs? Experiences they want to share? What do they do there? Is there any chance of getting my almost 3 year old in with her siblings? Are the counselors good at engaging kids? TIA

Disney is very strict with the age limits. But they will have an open house each day for an hour or so where you can go in as a family

I think you'll find a variety of opinions. There are lots of scheduled activities in kids clubs, but whether kids participate seems largely up to them. In my kids' experiences, I would say the counsellors, while very nice and friendly, were not at all good at engaging kids, unless the kids initiated. We were on a 13 night cruise and I think I met one counsellor who knew my kids' names by the end (and they went to the clubs every day). Granted, I have 3 boys who are quite happy to play together, so I didn't really mind the lack of counsellor interaction. It's very much a free play situation. It's not bad or anything, you just have to go in knowing this.

My kids did participate in scheduled activities they really liked but also did a lot of free play and while the activities were published and I believe announced in the clubs the kids are very much allowed to join in or not based on their preference. I picked up my son once and it was clear he had been encouraged to join in a game with others which I appreciated. They do have lots of electronics in the clubs and he gets drawn to that. He participated in other things though that he talked about enjoying. I did see a lot of counselor engagement in the Edge tween club. My 12 yr old daughter got notes left in our fish extender throughout the cruise from one of the counselors who I thought really went the extra mile to create extra magic. I wonder though if part of it was she had so many less kids to get to know in the tween age range than the kids club counselors. My 4,8,10 year old did enjoy the kids clubs though and we loved they could go there when they didn’t want to do what we may have been doing. It was great that everyone was able to have their own vacation time while on a family vacation.

Hard no on a 3 year old save during Open House. They require a kid to be a full 3, and be able to toilet fully without assistance. No help up, no help with pants.

There are structured activities or free play offered during any secure program times. Club is catered to younger-ish kids, lab to slightly older. One of my boys likes the structured options and the other likes to be on his own. Our boys love it and we typically leave them a few hours or less - not all day or anything. They can message you if the kids are upset or want to be picked up.

Less than three will need to reserve nursery time. We are big fans of the nursery and each of my boys have stayed in the nursery when they were not old enough for the clubs. We do utilize the open house in both spaces so that all can enjoy the options. There was a time you could get a nearly 3 into the club, but now it's almost in reverse - there are nursery options for 3's, PT or not.

Hi, how old are your kids? I’m sure there will be lots of things they will love about the Club/Lab!! Unfortunately we cannot register your two year old and they will have to go to the Nursery. She will have fun there too!
There are lots of different scheduled programs depending on the ship you are on and you will find these listed in your Navigator. There is also other activities such as iPad games, board games, art and craft, movies and other free play experiences. One thing I should mention is that we cannot force any child to engage in any program if they do not want to join in. There may also be times when your children may want to go off and play by themselves which is completely fine. They don’t have to engage with other kids or with us if they don’t want to. I would also invite you to attend Open House on Embark Day as this will allow you to attend the spaces with the kids, show them around and meet the Counselors. Let me know if you have further questions :)
