Has anyone used a variety of these clubs to have any thoughts on how they compare? We currently have reservations for our DD6 to have a 'night out' at the Sandcastle Club. Are there any pluses or minuses between the clubs. We have only used in room babysitting in the past, but she LOVED the kids club when we cruised, so I think she would much prefer this option.

My daughter has used the Sandcastle Club MANY times and she loves it there. They have games, toys, activities and a movie later in the evening. She can also eat dinner there. She'll love it! :)

We stayed at the BWI but used Sandcastle based on recommendations here on the DIS (I think it was WebmasterMichelle actually!:D ) My two kids really enjoyed their "night off" as they called it. The staff was very friendly there, the kids dinner was good and the room was large enough not to feel cramped (the Harbor Club looked much smaller).

My daughter has stayed at both the Neverland Club and the Harbor Club and enjoyed both. The Harbor Club was small, but it felt a little more intimate and sedate, wheras the Neverland Club was bigger and more stimulating. She enjoyed both. There are tons of activities, and games, and of course movies.

... but my ds enjoyed it so much he begged to go another night in lieu of accompanying my dm and me to dinner at a nice restaurant!!!!! :) I have heard/read good things about all the clubs, though some say the smaller ones are generally a bit nicer. The Cubs' Den was pretty intimate in feel -- and the CMs were soooooo friendly and welcoming there. I'm sure your dd would love any of the clubs -- and this would definitely be more fun than having a babysitter. Unfortunately, my ds's will most likely have to stay with a babysitter on our next trip because we'll be taking along our newborn, who obviously wouldn't be old enough to go to a kids' club this year.... :(

Have a great trip,
Sarah

We used them for the first time this month. Our 5 yo daughter stayed at the Cub's Den (WL) and Simba's Cubhouse (AKL). She liked the Cubhouse better. It's bigger, and seems to have a few more things for the kids to do. Also, it has a Ms. Pacman game that she fell in love with.

On a personal note, the staff seemed a bit friendlier at the Cub's Den.

Are the ages combined? or do the split them like on the cruise? I'm a bit leary of DS4 spending an evening with 8-12 year olds.

There were all together at Sandcastle but it didn't seem to be an issue. My DD was 9 1/2 and gravitated with the older crowd (all 3 of them!) around the computers and free arcade games. I think the CM's were pretty hands on and very watchful. You have to make your ressie ahead of time (no walk-ins) so they know what the population will be and can staff accordingly for the night.

We used the Neverland Club about 8 times since 1994 and the Dolphin Club twice (2001) when we stayed there. Our son loved them both, but Neverland was always his favorite. He started going when he was 4yrs and still went at 11 yrs (he's 12 now) and loved them all. Our plan was one night in childcare, but after the first year, he requested to go twice each trip. (He also did several Camp Disney classes when it was still going and loved those. It's really too bad Camp Disney is no longer.) I would not hesitate to try any of the resort childcare options.
