When do you get the option of booking kids club times? After you get on board only?

It's actually not part of onboard check in--you register for the kids club during the onboard check in process, but you book the time slots using the "onboard activities" section of the website/app. It is in there with the drink tastings, golf simulator, bippety boppedy boutique etc.

So does it open when the rest of the onboard activitues open now? Because for my cruise, I booked Palo and the tasting classes when my normal booking window opened, but the kids club sign ups didnt open until 30 days before the cruise. But that could be because they didnt have all the protocols worked out when my booking window opened.

We actually booked our cruise within 30 days of sailing so I can’t say for sure when it opened, but given it is in the onboard activity section I would think you could book that as soon as it opens. For what it is worth, I booked my activities including kids club time slots before I even started the online check in so I don’t think they are connected (though as mentioned, I did both well after the 30 day mark).

I'm on the October 9th cruise, the kids club was not available to book until after I checked in. It appeared a couple of days after checked in. This is my first cruise, so I can't tell you if that is normal.
