Kids Club question

Are the kids able to check themselves in and out of the kids club? I have 3 kids (10,8,5) and I'm wondering how often we will be going back/forth for this. If they are able to check themselves in...is the ship pretty safe to let them leave us (say at the pool area) and go by themselves? I'm a little nervous about this but don't want to be to paranoid. Thanks!

Hi! I am a youth activities Counselor onboard and we have a lot of children with self check privileges. You will have to sign a waiver for your 8 year old and the 5 year old will not be allowed to. The ships are safe. There are people everywhere. A lot of parents let kids check out and meet them somewhere so they feel grown up but it's restricted any child can check themselves in so yes if you send them down from the pool they should be fine!

As PP said, the kids can check themselves IN. You can give permission for the 10 and 8 year olds to check themselves out but the 5 year old will need an adult (or someone over 14) to leave the Club/Lab.

As to safe...the ship is no more or less "safe" for your children than your own neighborhood or town. Would you allow the kids to walk unsupervised around the block to a friends house? How about letting them walk to the corner store a couple of blocks away? To school? Downtown? Many families will set set rules if the kids are responsible enough to follow such rules as you can only return to our stateroom and must call me as soon as you get there. Only you can decide your comfort level on those types of questions.
