Has anyone taken their "only" child to a kids club before? My MIL wants me to take her to the Adventurers Club and I am thinking my 4 year old might have more fun with other kids but he would be all by himself.

Who has done this? How did your child do? Did they enjoy themself?

DS loves to go, and I don't think he's ever missed us while he's there. As an only he gets a bit starved for kid-to-kid interaction on vacations. The best club for 'ice-breaking' is definitely the Neverland Club; the theming just draws kids in and begs to be explored.

There's one caveat, though. Leave ample time to talk him out of there. DS never wants to leave at the end of the evening until we have seen the entire place, and if there was something really good, like a good computer game, he'll insist on demonstrating before he'll agree to leave. It isn't unusual for it to take 45 minutes to pick him up.

I agree with the other poster that the neverland club is the best. While we are blessed with 3 ds, when we picked them up the older 2 were doing the video games and the little guy, you could say was basically by himself, he had the honor of being the spinner for mickey mouse bingo. By himself, I am speaking that he did not care about his older brothers etc. It is well supervised, didnt see one crying kid, they serve them a buffet dinner, pillows to rest on and watch disney movies etc. Also had to pull them out of there. They begged to go the next night using all their allowance money etc. Gee. I thought disney was suppose to bring familes together.:D Forgot to say that they enter by going up a little staircase, like 3 stairs and get sprinkled with pixie dust on their way. When we were there they had a tepee and a grandma type lady was weaving hair braid type things. Our one ds insisted he could not leave until granny was done with his etc.

my dd, also an only child at the time, has used both the Harbour Club and Simba's club, and she seemed to have a nice evening at both clubs. They have a meal and a snack later, and she did at craft at both clubs. They were settling down to watch a video when we picked her up on both evenings.

My dd was 5 when she visited the Neverland club and the one and YC/BC. she enjoyed both of them and made lots of instant friends. She didn't want to leave when we came to pick her up.

I wouldn't hesitate to use one of the club for an only child. I agree that they child willl probably enjoy it more then the grown up stuff.

Our DS (Age 4) liked Simba's Cubhouse so much that we made him another reservation for later in the week.

Of course, we liked Jiko's som much that we made ourselves another reservation for the same time

I took my 5 year old daughter in november of last year. She went to the Neverland club 3 nights we were there, while I went off myself and rode on scary rides. She loved it so much, that she was only supposed to go 2 nights, but she wanted to go again so i made ressies for the 3 rd night. She loved the chicken nuggets and fries, but they had other food as well, but those were her favorite, and they did arts and crafts and she made friends. I totally recommend the Neverland club.

Thanks so much everyone. I think this will help put my MIL mind at ease. I was more concerned that she would feel sad about taking him there but it sounds like he will have a great time.

My dd, now 10, thinks of the Neverland Club as an extra attraction, just for her!!! She loves it here. She really wants to go again this coming August, but it's just too far away. We'll be at BWV's. I understand that BW's club for kids has been disbanded. So, we would have to use the one at Y/BC. Have any of you tried this one and how did your kids like it? I know my dd is getting old for these now but we would dearly love a night out as adults. Thanks a bunch.

I wanted to go with my fiance out for a couple of hours on our won. My daughter is non-verbal, non-mobile and is 100% dependent but no high medical needs.
We left her twice while we were at AKL in Simba's Club. She was so happy to see other kids. All the kids came over and showed her their art work and sang songs to her.
The CM's were very kind and loving as well.
I was very happy with the care.

I'm so glad I scrolled back far enough to find this post! I had the same concern. The past two trips, my parents came with us, so my 6 yr old DD stayed with them anytime DH and I wanted to do something on our own. This past trip we discovered the Adventurer's Club, and loved it so much, I can't imagine missing it on any future trips. However, my parents have told us they probably won't go with us on our next trip, so if we want to go out, we'd have to use one of the clubs. Even though my daughter is extremely social, and when I described the Neverland Club to her she got really excited and said she would love to go, I was still worried that going there "on her own" would be a little scary. After reading this post, I would feel fine leaving her at a club for a couple of hours on our next trip.

Hi

My daughter who is now 10 has been going to the Neverland Club since she was able to go.
We used to put both kids (now my son is a teenager) but she already reminded us, " I am going to the Neverland Club, right?"
Both my kids have been to all the clubs, and the Neverland Club
is by far the BEST Club for kids!

Your child will enjoy it!
